  1. not an upgrade to me. when i upgrade speakers its because of the condition of the cabinets or a certain type of veneer what condition are both sets of speakers i would take the 78's everyday of the week, depending on condition of both sets don't like the crossovers or the wiring on the 87 set, i believe half of the crossover is inside the bass bin which means breaking the seal on the access door. my 78 set has AA crossovers in them and laser logos, a huge plus

  6. from what i have learned on here JEM PERFORMANCE does not rebuild crossovers. they will sell you the correct caps for your speakers for you to do yourself. i'm an AA crossover guy ( i have 3 sets from Deang - Crankysoldermeister ) so thats the route i would go along with DaveA's V2 lenses with 120 tweeters and Crites A-55g/2 mids
  7. 1983 was the last year they stamped the serial number into the wood on the back side so that means 1984 and on the serial number is on the paper label. no label no numbers

    Cornwall question

2 things that pop into my mind Rodney #1 klipsch is not going to sell you these inserts without serial numbers from a set of iv's and then they still might not. why does somrone need 6 flares #2 depends on what cutouts you have on your 11's now but i guess you could make them fit

  11. you have to pull out your super stars and if you think that they could grade out a 9 or a 10 gem mint then send them in to PSA and have them graded back in the day i sent in 100 cards ( 5.00 ea card = $500 ) that i thought were really nice and they all came back with 8 the highest. no one want 8's find 5 or 10 of your finest and send them in and see what grade you get back. each one will be enclosed in a tamper proof case
  12. do not stain them. these are very very rare better read up on how to remove lacquer first or find someone that will do it for you and reapply lacquer scroll thru these and find what you have https://community.klipsch.com/index.php?/topic/73189-picture-thread-exotic-original-veneersheritage-rarities/
  13. not sure on the 125's but i do know you have to move the brace back 1" for Crites CT-120's
