  1. Minor thread drift; A question for the Cable Guy. Is solid 2-wire telephone cable any good for speakers? +++ A member of another forum got p.o.'d at the cheap cable he had been getting, so he wrote to all the cable manufacturers in the US and asked for samples. He said THIS is the best wire he heard. http://www.knukonceptz.com/home-theater/speaker-wire/kord-speaker-wire/ I have been using KnuKonceptz 10 and 12 for over 2 years, I think it's excellent. A few reasons why I think that....it's easy to work with, looks pretty good, very good quality construction, and it's priced well. Shipping is fast, the website is fairly decent and customer service is good. Overall, lots of positives. JMHO
  2. Would be interested to know if anyone gets a response....
  3. thats not a good sign...Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Oh no..... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Beauties! Even the back cavity is clean!
  6. Yes, it was, and I'll be at the first night game at Notre Dame next weekend! As close as we are to the Michigan border, there will be a huge Maize and Blue contingent for sure!! Go Blue!!
  7. Did they install permanent "field" lighting at the Big House? http://www.mgoblue.com/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/091610aan.html
  8. I'm on the list and think I will pass as well for now. I really think Emo needs to get more feedback and evals from users. Plus the Dirac room correction is not yet implemented. We will see.
  9. Oh, that's just perfect.
  10. Depends somewhat on the length of your runs, but 12 gauge should be fine. Don't spend a lot on cables.
  11. didn't Jameis Winston place an order too?
  12. Just got home from the Big House!! Big Blue dominated, especially in the first half, then pretty much played second teamers the rest of the way, as did App State. Great weather, great crowd as usual, and I still don't trust Devin Gardner....He's too slow to scramble outside, and he holds on to the ball too long. Was hoping that Shane Morris would make a better showing, but he threw a pick on his second throw.....Oh well, a good time!! Next week, kick some Irish butt!
  13. Perhaps you could be a little less cryptic in your response to the OP? I don't disagree regarding the caps, but a good switch and pot cleaning is a good start for him. 40 years in electronics donchaknow.....
  14. I'm pretty sure I said that in my post, but, whatever....Was just pointing out that these types of units are available. And yes, speaker choice would be good to know. Marantz definitely made some great receivers as well back in the day, and they have some really cool tuning dials.
  15. Yes and the same store is also selling mole killer smoke bombs and Costco Minoxidil.....probably past it's expiration date....
  16. What's modest for some, may not be modest for others.....are you talking $1500 or $500, as an example.....You can buy a fully restored Pioneer SX-1250, all caps replaced, all lights replaced, other components replaced, fully cleaned, polished and beautiful for $1500 or less (sometimes). Or, to step down a little, an SX-1050, or SX-950, that are still awesome receivers, just a little less power. You probably don't need "The Monster" 1250 for your office.... Check them out on ebay..... http://www.ebay.com/itm/Pioneer-SX1250-Vintage-Stereo-Receiver-WOW-/161403723379
  17. Beek, wasn't that your daughter you brought to Klipsch HQ a little while back? I thought she liked audio.....
  18. Great price. tempting.....better not.
  19. Or, they might be "Hell's Belle's"........
  20. Wow, a 16% discount to join the forum? What a deal!
  21. Yes, I have a 1060, and I have used it on Belle's, Cornwall's and Heresy's. I liked it, and I think you will too after you get it cleaned up. As a first step, you should definitely get a can of good contact cleaner, either Deoxit or Max Professional Contact Cleaner, open up the unit and spray all the switches, not just the volume knob. Go with two short bursts of spray, operate the knob or switch back and forth, let it sit for 30 seconds or so, then spray again. I always do this at night, and let the unit fully dry overnight. Let us know how it goes.
  22. I'm sure someone here can identify this..... http://toledo.craigslist.org/ele/4642188980.html
  23. Totally agree with this, and to make sure it's not the actual hard-wired connector (socket) on the Marantz that's the issue.
  24. Just got tickets for the Michigan/Appalachian State game this Saturday. Love going to the Big House. I was there the last time Big Blue played App State....Lloyd Carr's going away party.....
