  1. I dont have issues with imaging or seperation... I do with MCACC. fwiw, I moved the speakers IN slightly(still 14' apart CTC) so that they are right even on the inside edge with the alcove wall... about 2-3' in from where you see them in this picture. and I went from about 35-40º or about 15-20º toe in and the sound is great. the entire reason for this is my set up is tuned nicely now, but since moving the speakers in and adding the sub and center, I wanted to run mcacc again, but I know the settings it will give me will be shyte!I must be doing something wrong because everyone else seems to get good baseline settings from their mcacc...mine are way off.
  2. thanks... I have plenty of sound from my sub, as a matter of fact, by bass gain settings on analog channel is -8/-9... on digital channel gain is +3 but the sub volume control on the unit itself is set at less than 50% max. I wonder if the difference in reference mateials I listen to is causing some discomfort in my mind. I can listen to 1/2 speed lp or a well produced normal 33.3 and the sound is stunning, but sometimes I put on a record and it sounds flat or tinny or the mod range is out of wack with the highs and lows... there seems to be no consistency(same with digital media)
  3. I use MCACC with my HT. First I let the auto MCACC function do it's thing. After it has done its thing I check the settings and it lists the K-horns and La Scalas as large, and has the crossover to the Cinema F20 sub at around 100hz. Not optimal for sure, but I have achieved VERY good results by changing the K-horn and La Scalas to "small" and changing the sub crossover point to 50hz. My system is different than yours but this small tweak provides a great sound for my set-up. thanks... I may mess around with it today and see what results I get. I know the system sounds excellent as it is, but I am always looking for more performance without spending more money
  4. yes... I have tried pretty much all the settings... cornwalls dig very deep so setting them to small long term seems counter productive.
  5. I run as large... I can tell the mcacc is doing it's thing, but it's never even close to what sounds optimal. over the years I have had this set up(with and without the sub woofer) the results have always been less than stealer. seating is approximately 14-15' away from screen and I place the mic at ear level in that position. I ALWAYS have to go back in and tweak the eq manually otherwise the sound is muddled and unbalanced... no crisp highs and WAY to much mid range. I have a analog set that runs through the rega to the USP(for MC amp) then to the SC35 and a digital set that runs the Oppo 93 directly to the SC35
  6. What am I doing wrong??? every time I run the MCACC on my SC35, I get settings that are FAR FROM optimal. I normally have to do a lot of manual tweaking to get them to a point where I think it's sounding marginally good. Am I missing something? I love my amp, and I love my speakers... why can't we all just get along when using auto settings. My room is asymmetrical, in that one side of the listening area is open(there is no wall) as it leads to another room shaped something like this where my listening are is on the left and designated by the separation line between the brackets - [__I____] I can not and do not want to change room layout. Again, this is not focus or resolution or an imaging issue(timbre comments do not apply)... it's a matter of EQ levels (bass/treble). the reason this is coming up again after I spent a huge amount of time tweaking my current setup is because I changed speaker placement and I will need to probably run MCACC again. any help would be appreciated.
  7. well that would suck... that completely defeats the purpose.
  8. It's been less than a month since Chevrolet revealed the 2014 Corvette Stingray, and already one has turned up wrecked. Since the new Corvette isn't on sale yet, chances are someone at General Motors will have a sizable expense report to fill out. Caught by a poster at Digital Corvettes, the photo was supposedly snapped recently in Arizona, with the original shooter's commentary: "Cop had just arrived. Car is in worse shape than looks. Hit guardrail on left and bounced back to rocks." Automakers often run hot-weather and handling tests in Arizona, and this copy wears the Michigan manufacturer license plates that a GM-owned prototype would carry on public roads. While at first glance the Vette looks OK, a closer look reveals serious damage; the front wheel looks too far askew, and there's long scrapes on the side of the body and the wheels. There may have been a side air bag deployed as well, but it's hard to tell under the tinted rear glass. It's rare but not unheard of for a factory pre-production test drive to end in a crash; at this stage of Corvette development, the engineers would be tweaking software settings or chasing down some final production issues before the launch later this year. We asked Chevy for comment, and until we hear back we're struck by what GM always warns media test drivers: "Keep it shiny side up." UPDATE: According to Chevy spokesman Monte Doran, this was a GM test drive gone wrong: "During evaluation, the driver caught the inside tire caught the edge of the pavement during a tight corner, leading to the accident. Thankfully, no one was hurt, the car received only minor damage, and no citations were issued."
  9. I had a rare privilege to visit the Private Museum at American Honda yesterday...
