beautiful... jealous here. I love the bread boards to, perhaps someday I can afford something like that

Thabks Schu - can you expand on this - i checked my settings menu and there is no such option on mine all there is a whole lot of technical stuff that the average person will have no idea what they are on about, i am in this category.. re many opts on 2ch like 2ch48khz or something like that, then all this stuff about bitrate,, they need a book for ps3 settings for dummies.. there is nothing on my ps3 that you described and i just downloaded the latest software, hope you know what i mean.. well here is a short SIMPLIFIED explaination about bit depth and sampling rate. think of a graph that is plotted with x and y axis... horiztonal and vertical lines... # The horizontal lines represent bit depth: _ _ _ _ The vertical lines represent Sampling rate: I I I I I I I I there for a source(sacd, dvda , etc) that is availible in high resolution may be a 24/192... that is 24 bits of depth(resolution) and 192 lines of speed(the fractions in time that a 24bit sample is taken) the deeper the bit depth and the faster something is sampled, the higher the resolution of the sample.

Compatible SACD formats for Marantz SA-8001 SACD player
Schu replied to Steve Conatser's topic in Technical/Restorations
IC... sorry about that. by nature the hybrids are the units you want more so than the single layer sacd's... hybrids, as I am sure you know are two layers with two distinct playbacks...5.1 and 2.1 All I can tell you for sure is that I play BOTH types on my ps3 and I do it throug 2 channel setup and it sound wonderful. I think it would probably sound even better in 5.1 though -
Compatible SACD formats for Marantz SA-8001 SACD player
Schu replied to Steve Conatser's topic in Technical/Restorations
I get all mine on: ebay ebay international amazon amazon international those over seas folks get more stuff than us... give a listen to DVDA, HDAD, MFS, and Masterdisc -
I don't have ANY issues with my ps3, whether cd dvd sacd dvda etc... the unit plays it all and plays it well. I am going HDMI to a integrated 130wpc and running it all two channel through Hereseys. I must say the difference between sacd's/dvda's/mfsl's and regular cd's is quite apparent, like night and day. You have to remember that there are different ps3 units even for the same model(80gb etc) , some generations play sacd/dvda and some don't...dont ask me why but that's the way it is. In the set up menu there are options for out put 2 channel,5.1, 7.1 sampling rates etc 1

Awesome thanks... now only to find a TT that spins at 78rpms
-
I guess thats what I am asking for, does anyone make a 78 speed TT? I have hundreds of these 78's that have been in my family since my Grand father. I am really want to experience these old jazz blues records
-
I have planned to get a new turntable to add to my system... I was thinking about a Technics Mk5 sl1200... but here is the issue, I want to be able to play 78's... Can anyone help me out with a MODERATELY priced TT that would accomplish both 33 and 78 rpm records? PS... what are Half Speed reference/master records?

Cherry RF-7's For Sale---Life Lesson, Go With Your Gut Instinct
Schu replied to willland's topic in 2-Channel Home Audio
smoking deal... I'll give $700 for them [:$] -
I am still a little confused by the addition of a Subwoofer(or two subwoofers) as they pertain to playback of audio. In conversation, some people have said they would NOT add a sub for music, and some folks add two(left right)... is this a personal preference or is this a setup issue in making sure that the subs do not over power the main l/r klipsch speakers. I was thinking about adding a pair of 10" subs to add some low end on my heresey fronts, but if its a waste of money for audio then I will forgo that addition thanks

You know... I seem to be one of the only guys here that wants his cake and eat it to. I have come to learn that volume is a key factor in listening quality in that having to much can hurt your listening experience, but I come from the 60's/70's and I want my ears to bleed with both volume and crystal clarity. I think feeling the music concussion is part of the experience
