Watched the games yesterday. Rooted for Miami. Oops. Rooted for Minnesota. Oops Rooted for Cincinnati, finally..... I guess if I'm to get one right, this would be my first choice (originally grew up in that area)

Yeah, but he IS one of the hottest NFL players out there..... c'mon, you know & feel it....admit it.
  3. Not knowing how old yours is.... some of the older units had a DIN plug where the wires would break in/at the plug and speakers go silent. Mine did this. Someone on the internet took it apart, traced the wires and came up with a Radio Shack part number of their DIN plug wire.... and you could snip the plug off, splice in the Radio Shack part BUT, the colors don't match. So, Red doesn't go to Red.... what this person did is figure out that Red went to Yellow, Green went to Blue....so forth. Klipsch had/has a replacement wire that fixed that. I've no idea if this is your issue. If you have a newer version of the PM's, then I think Klipsch fixed it on the factory side Still... might be worth taking an Ohm meter to see if each connection goes all the way through. If this is it, it's just a matter of either fixing or replacing the wire. If this is NOT your issue, then ignore everything I've said as I'm clueless.
  4. Shut up. I wouldn't complain about raccoon eyes... lol
  5. Dunno.... you gotta blend the words. (Jubescala type thing) So, JubeClaren? McJube? (lol, sounds like a french fry)
  6. and I thought this Had some innuendo..... @ClaudeJ1, time for you to make a Super Mclaren....
  7. Soooooooooo, if I go slap a coat of paint on my wife... Uhhh...... never mind.
  8. Congrats on your acquistion! You are aware of the little known rule (Rule: 39472.40378343.subset,3094823 DASH 1) Stipulates any new owner of Khorns has to host a listening party..... when do we arrive? Just ask any of the guys.... they'll all back me up! (don't ask any of the gals, they're very bad at telling lies)
  9. I just looked up the Ebay listing. $3,500 for the bass bin alone? (I had presumed it was a single speaker, guess I need to adjust my glasses because the thread title clearly states bass bin) Anyway.... that makes me cringe a bit. The reason is, "back when I bought mine" (and this certainly might not be a fair way to compare).... none the less, as I recall, I paid $6,000 for two bass cabinets and two K402's.... two complete speakers. The 'beauty panel' as I understand, added on roughly $100/$200 (per bin or total, I don't know) Using the Golden Jubilee's as a reference, seems he's price gouging on those BUT.... there is a story behind them (for better or worse) and as I understand they ARE one of only two pair made under the conditions they were made..... but this one doesn't suffer that exclusivity benefit. This one was available to anyone who wanted to fork out the cash for one. From a selling perspective, I love it.... but buying it, I'd really want to stop/ask.... where's the rest of it? (the K402). I'd almost bet that after the bass bin is sold, they relist the K402 (or have maybe already done that....or to be fair to them.... might be keeping it) This does make me wince. (just being honest). I'd go back to my you already have a JubeScala setup..... fine tune that and maybe call it a day.
  10. Don't get too carried away..... in real life, we're all jackaszes.... just ask our wives... (welcome to the club??) lol
  11. I missed this if it was said previously. So you already have some LaScalas AND you already have a pair of K402's. I'm not familiar with the Yorkville sub but, you did say it was horn loaded. I'd say you are perhaps within the same sonic realm of the Jubilee's at a fraction of the price (thank you LaScalas). I wonder if you might be better off fine tuning what you have (change out 1132 for a TAD or, me not knowing anything about them, the new driver on the Heritage Jube's) let me reword it a bit....and again, just my thoughts & opinions... If you are starting from NOTHING and can't (or don't want to) afford the Underground or Heritage Jubilee, then I'd suggest to you that they way to get 90% of that sound is doing exactly what you've done. LaScala bass bin, K402 on top (different driver maybe??) and a horn subwoofer. I wonder that Mr. Pat might think? @Islander
  12. Also... in the beginning, you could have any color you wanted, as long as it was black. Later on, Roy was able to swap the front panel out for a "beauty panel" which is what yours appears to have. Slow step by step process of trying to take a black, industrial speaker to a more aesthetic looking speaker for those who care (I don't mind the black). Now you can get the full beauty speaker AND the better enhanced sound.... but it comes at a cost. How's this sound.... you buy me a new pair of Heritage Jubilee's, I'll give you my Undergrounders, you will then have three for across the front!! Heck, I might even throw in the three TAD drivers I have! Sounds like a great deal to (for?) me!!
  13. There is but one "underground". It might have little supports in it "wings" like the older versions do (mine). Roy then realized he could take the little "wings" out and replace them with SHELVES which would make it stronger and at same time, easier for them to manufacture. Same cabinet, just some different construction for the production crew with side benefit of extra strength. I think the TRIPLE original prototype had NO 'wings' in it. They were added later on when a couple units had a panel vibrate. Here's a thought.... (I've got no idea what the price is for what you're looking at) I originally thought about getting three of them. Using one for center.... until some schmuck-head came up with the idea of maybe using a LaScala with 402 on top instead of a full Jubilee. Rigma built a pair. It's not a complicated build but I don't know that any accurate plans are out there. Also, I'd wonder if you have to be as exact with this as you might with a Khorn. As said above, then you just keep eyes out for a quad of K31's (or buy a pair of KLF-30's as I think those are the ones that use same woofers) Below is a picture of one of the prototypes. In it you can see the unpainted "wing" in the back. These were added afterwards to help tame the back wall from resonating, the shelves came afterwards.
  14. speaking as an owner of some undergrounders for a while now, I'll say that in my opinion, the Underground Jubes bow to VERY few speakers. I can think of two... the new Heritage Jubilee and the MWM based systems
  15. You did fine, though finding a pair is certainly better. The Underground Jubilee was 'the original' Jubilee and was in their Cinema line for a number of years. Then, some Boneheads bought them and put them in their homes. Roy had some interesting ideas thinking he could maybe mate a vent with a horn.... created it, might have patented it (or not, I don't know) and he put that to work in the "new and improved" Jubilee....what is now called the Heritage. I think the "Underground" came to be from Roy who went from nobody in the world having a Jubilee in their home.... to people figuring out how (with his help I might add) to "work the system" and get a pair for their home. The original version (Underground) was designed as a HOME speaker but, the company never put it into production as a HOME speaker.... so those who have a pair might be heretics.... and went underground to figure out how to buy a pair....hence the name. (that's my story and I'm sticking with it though I don't know it to be 100% accurate) So in a sense, you have the Jubilee I instead of the Jubilee II. The newer version (again, as I understand as I've never seen nor heard them) but the newer version has the same K402 on top so it's the bass bin that's new/different/improved. It digs deeper than the Jubilee I because of the added vent in the horn. They can be difficult to find but as you've seen, not impossible.
  16. Nope, nothing from me. She "disappeared" on our conversations (which is lame). It would have been nice to be told "sorry, someone came and got it" but that never happened. I was eyeballing this coming weekend as a travel weekend. Oh well... maybe someone will grab them, throw half of it back up for sale to recoup their costs and keep half of it?
  17. Pffft.... is simply a frame that used to surround a life size picture of Uncle Ernie.... However, if you stare into it long enough..... you can see the Cosmos....
  18. Regarding Triphammer.... could be, no idea yet. I texted (I so dislike texting, give me your dang phone number.....) Anyway... texted with the gal listing it. She said they bought everything from a gal who's son was in a band and that's 99% of what I know. I'm speculating given the background the gal I've texted with owns a storage unit (based on background in pictures) "Mom" had to move away.... I'll bet the storage place was not getting payment so the long game for her is to sell this to cover the accumulated (I presume) storage fees and would explain a bit why this gal is playing ignorant of anything. I reached out again to her on Thursday but no response yet. Then again, she might still be lamenting last nights Tennessee win over Clemson.... I think tonight's game (Ohio State / Georgia) will produce the winner this year. In other words, I think tonight is actually #1 vs #2 instead of #1 vs #4. Hopefully it will be a fun game to watch.
  19. Had the Jubilee's playing in the living room while we were having dinner (wife, her sister & Bro in law & myself). Had 5 disks in CD changer and BOTH my wife and her sister made a comment (NEITHER of them like this "teenager speaker stuff" so you get an idea of their perspective) Eating & chatting and then sister in law just blurted out "OMG, that sounds SOOOO good in there, it sounds like she's actually in there singing for real" You didn't say what kind of party, so I'd answer that with a 'yes' I do/have.
  20. Here's a question for someone in the know... Not knowing what all is in this pile....I'm hoping it's got the bass bins (obviously can see four of them) the XII mid-bass units (four?) and then whatever the Midrange/tweeter box on top is. I'm guessing from an angle I've seen in the picture that it LOOKS similar to the K400 with a K77 on top (would the K77 be on a manifold or maybe the K55's? Anyway.... not sure what's actually there yet. Fingers crossed on two working XII's. If that is the case.... would it work to make these a 3-way with the following: BOTH bass bins on the bottom so four woofers (hopefully K43's in there), XII on top of the bass bins and then a K402 on top of that. If that works, how to power.... I know nothing about the electronics that are pictured with it....are they working? Dead? No idea. I've got three Crown K2's and the Xilica active. Would a SINGLE K2 power TWO bass bins (four K43's) so I could stack the double bins, use a single K2 to power each side. Next K2 would power the XII's (if that's what's in there) and the last K2 would power the 402's on top with the K69's on them. I'd yank the TAD's off just for precaution. Ok, call me OCD. Found out their idea is to create a stage area and bring 3-4 different local "bands" (one might be a strings only ensemble) and have them plug in. I'd defintaly need some guidance in that world. I don't have a mixing board and no clue if one is in this pile nor if it works.
  21. Space lol.... if it weren't for space these would be a no-brainer for everyone. What I'm thinking is making a big circle.... go pick up the prior pair that I had then swing back by here to get these (or vice-versa) which would give me six double bass bins and whatever other things are included in this link. I texted seller earlier today, no reply yet.
  22. These are more for my neighbor than for me. She's a physician who has a practice in Atlanta....BUT has now moved here. So rewording it, she lives here over the weekend and goes back to Atlanta during the week. Point being, it's difficult finding her still enough to bring this up SO.... I have talked to her neighbor. Long history but her neighbor has lived here for while AND, heard the two single MWM bass bins I had outdoors when we did a movie. She liked what she heard.... and now has info to talk to other neighbor.... (see how this gets convoluted) The new gal just bought a 4M house so I'd like to think can afford these. Having been in that house prior to her buying it, I also know she has two different garages. Both are 2-vehicle, one has door into house other is still attached to house but might be viewed as a "shop" (prior owner had his 911 parked/stored in there) Hope to know final answers before end of weekend. They'd have to be stored in this second garage.
  23. Yep....you have to hear it to believe. I heard it in (what I think was) his old house. Three LaScalas across the front and the imaging was stunning. He was playing 2-channel and the center sound was absolutely locked in. I took it upon myself to walk towards the center speaker and as I got four feet away....three feet away.... the sound "it" was providing gently widened and dissappated to the right and left channels. I've never heard imaging as strong as this setup. As I recall, he might (did I say might?) have gone a bit bonkers on the room treatments but the reality was, it worked very well. I've owned LaScalas for a couple years (43)and never felt slighted by them however, I did always lust after a pair of Khorns which was my introduction to the family.
  24. Timely alert, thanks! I just sent them message to see if it's in working condition.
  25. 1. Don't tempt me 2. Those look awesome! 3. If I recall, I don't think they had drivers in them when you got them (??) 4. I had two pair....as I recall, I think one went to (or near) Kansas City and the other to Indiana (?) Irrespective.... where did these end up? (just how serious is your last comment?)
