  1. Alcohol and street drugs would be taboo per his religion. Prescribed painkillers, if involved, probably less taboo. Pain meds wouldn't be taboo at all. The only thing that would be taboo as far as medical treatment would be a blood transfusion.
  2. and so were each and every one of these but they don't appear as lead "NEWS" items on every morning show, sport show, face book, forum...................According to the United Nations, 2,473,018 people died in the United States in the most recent year data is available, 2008. That means 6,775 per day. Was I the only one old enough to remember Elvis dying, Freddie Mercury, Whitney Houston (I was waiting on a jury verdict and we watched the funeral in Judge's chambers on national tv on a Saturday as I recall), Eric Clapton's son, John Bulishi, John Lennon. I think what is puzzling to many isn't why the hype over a celebrity dying, why the hype iver Prince. He died before his time, it makes us mortal. He was a major pop star that was a generation or two after many of us and we can't relate to his popularity. He sold over 80 million records, 50 million in US That attracts a news audience, and news is business. If CNN doesn't have it, someone else will.
  3. LarryC's Concert selections? Tea by Salada? Paint by Kelly Moore? Sprague capacitors? Firestone Tires? Nike?
  4. God save the Queen! I saw her in BC in 71, she was in the same hotel we were staying in, I will never forget it. The Heir Apparent is going to have big shoes to fill, He could start by giving a Royal Warrant to Klipsch.
  5. Last time I was there he had plenty of Pappy Van Winkle Just kidding, I would have no way of knowi g. However, Angus Young is a very famous non-drinker. Pretty rare for a Scotsman.
  6. I have heard cats need a friend
  7. At my parents in Fort Worth, both just out of surigical rehab. Making sure they have everthing set. Mom made her some Folgers.. Reminded me of.MJB, that is all she used to drink. Both San Francisco brands Today is a real big, big day, waiting on the outcome of a crucial meeting.
  8. Joe at 13, playing.with John Lee Hooker https://youtu.be/VvHEyAnS0bs
  9. Sadly the local Fox station here is reporting he was treated for a drug over dose a few days back (most likely Naloxone/Narcan). They all seem to be sourcing TMZ on that. Narcan is obviously given for a suspected opiate OD. A big waste if that truns out to be the case. We have lost a lot of great people, famous, and not so famous, to H, and even more close calls
  10. And when I die let me die With a dream in my mind A smile on my face and no trouble behind And no cross on my grave To show my restin' place So I can listen to the wind blow Let it blow, let it blow Sand over my trail I got my saddle on the ground And that ol' moon, he can still be found Hidin' in the desert sky Won't you bury me with my chaps on And my six-gun strapped to my side So I can watch the moon a-hidin' In the desert sky
  11. Did he have Joe sign the one he bought? Just saw Joe, one of faves. A prodigy that actually made good and didn't get.too messed up along the way. I think that was in large part necause he had parents who saw him as their son and not a meal ticket.
  12. Look up Jeremy Bentham, he sort of cornered the market on the dissection followed by donation idea.
  13. Great link, that is when I really gained a lot of respect for him as a musician. For whatever reason, what I had seen of him prior to that (The Rolling Stones in 1981 in LA where he was booed off the stage), television spots on SNL or whatever, they really never featured his guitar playing. His initial record deal, at age 18, was for three records where he had absolute control over content and owned his masters (this is unheard of), and he moves to Sausalito, CA (you know which studio is there) and proceeds to make his first lp, playing every instrument on the album, something like twenty of them. I guess at that period time I was very intent on avoiding "pop" at all costs. My loss.
  14. I had forgotten about that, she got the inspiration for Stand Back from hearing Little Red Corvette, he came to Sunset Sound and played the synth parts for her. Here is the story in her own words, it starts at 9 minute mark.
  15. Why are you hell bent on stirring up this thread? This is your second post in on this topic, the first was a little off, but no big deal, but your latest is tending to show a pattern that some may question what your underlying motives may be. Several have posted already that they may not have cared for his music, or him, but they did it in a respectful way. Dtel's is a good example.
  16. Under rated as a musician and guitarist. Check this out, starting at about the Edit 3:30 mark.
  17. Should have been your first clue (Sony/Bose) live and learn.
  18. Good morning all of you crazy sumbitches. That photo of Jackie Gleason a few pages back really made me laugh. It is always so nice in here. My girlfriend watches most of the "Housewives" series. It always makes me laugh how much people can get entertained by the commotion in other peoples lives, i.e., the average viewer. Then the housewives and their husbands, how their those that are continually stirring stuff up, It is all so terribly staged. Nice to be able to cone here, no drama, no commotion. It is the last bastion of gentlemanly and Ladylike behavior. La Madeleine French Dark Roast, by the way. Overcast and dreary here today. Lakes are full, drought is over in Central Texas, should be a great year for tubing. Travis
  19. Somebody selling something?JC should get a commission. Uh.... there are some other horns out there that were my creation......You would be surprised. I don't want commission. Its all in fun. I have no rights to anything......I may have to hire a lawyer. You know of one? Yes, I want to work on the Cullison Clamp.
  20. Somebody selling something? JC should get a commission.
  21. As I recall you improved on that in at least two later generations? So these are JC Pipe's "I had a weekend to kill and lets see how close I can come from eyeballing it" version. I remember you saying that, not sure it was with this version, that by the time you did materials, time, etc., etc., that the new ones were an excellent value.
  22. By the way, "Zebrawood is listed as vulnerable due to a population reduction of over 20% in the past three generations, caused by a decline in its natural range. (A closely-related, lesser-used species in Cameroon, Microberlinia bisulcata, is also listed as critically endangered." May not make a difference to some people, but some people may be adverse to it. Klipsch went with a sustainable wood that resembles Zebrawood for that very reason.
  23. BullshitThat is a trademarked name. I think you are getting close to being schooled. In your first build thread Roy pointed out he saw a mistake in your build. But best of look with your facsimiles.
