  1. Bill, I asked because I see so many people just put the sub where it looks good (like in the middle) and then try to figure out why it sounds bad. I've even see people buy different subs to try to correct it. Sometimes you'll place a sub and end up having the listening position in a nul or a cancellation spot. Turning it up won't increase the bass you hear. Moving it will. Different rooms will react differently. Each room has it's own ideal placement location but rarely is it where it's asthetically ideal.
  2. Man, those other guys look a lot like you.
  3. psg, nice avatar[] We're we getting a little self conscious? LOL.
  4. You got me wondering if I should change mine now... I wasn't going to say anything[].
  5. I have wondered this, but come to the conclusion Rick has many hot girlfriends....... (Avatar is always changing with various pretty women)...... Sorry if I am wrong Rick..... I think they're typically female singers.
  6. They're probably tired of SVS, HSU, eD and EPIK kicking their butts [:#].
  7. It looks like it will go louder (10dB) but not really lower. If it's for HT mostly, you're really not gaining much other than loudness. If you're wanting to upgrade and it's mostly for HT, try to find a sub that will extend down to at least 20Hz.
  8. OK everybody, all together now........Hiiiiiii Kellllllly. Welcome to the forum. Tell me the truth, can you even hear little that sub with all those big CV's?
  9. The sub "crawl" is an effective way to find ideal placement. As well as listening while you're moving around the room you can use an SPL meter.
  10. Kimba, I think that is a great idea. Since you are not running stereo subs, center front placement is probably the next best option. It should be very balanced and musical. Your Heresy will kind of be a 4-way speaker. Bill Wow, that is so wrong, what do you base this on?
  11. Didn't know the words..........................................badaboooom!
  12. If your bass management is set to "global" ALL sources should see the same crossover points.
  13. Try google? HERE HERE HERE I believe THESE will take 10 ga also.
  14. I think you'll find that there's not many people here using 10ga. There's no improvement sonically for the extra expense. Bang for the buck and 10ga wire are mutually exclusive.
  15. It's not the type or brand of subwoofer that will give you the blend that you're looking for. It's the time and effort that you put into setup that will give you that effect. Experimenting with room placement, phase, crossover setting and bass traps are the only sure way to get what you're looking for. The best subwoofers money can buy can sound like crap if you don't learn how to properly integrate them with your mains. Once everything is done right, your sub will disappear and it will sound like your mains are virtually bottomless.
  16. #1 Mids and highs yes, to get bass that far you're going to need some horsepower and additional cabinets. #2 I didn't think that was remotely possible. Women totally understand other women, they do not however like them and see them as competition.
  17. Be sure you rerun Audyssey when you get all the furniture in the room. The room reflections will be much different than they are now.
  18. If you had an amp or fuse problem you'd have an issue with the subs performance. It's more likely an LED (or bulb) issue.
  19. I wouldn't be concerned. If it bothers you, you can use a black sharpie to dim the bright bulb to match the dim one.
  20. Agree with above. Audio from an over the air HD antenna is VERY good, especially live broadcasts.
  21. Budget, size constraints, finish? Purchase or build yourself?
  22. I wasn't posing in mine, it was more of a candid.
  23. The speakers that came with my KURO are still sealed in the box they came in.
  24. The only reason I sold my 7200 was to go to seperates and HDMI. It was a great receiver. I didn't enjoy moving it though [:|]. BIG heat sinks.
