  1. 5 HIII's and a DTS-10 sub would be an outstanding HT setup.
  2. It wasn't their best offering but I'm sure it will be better than your Onkyo 8" that you currently have. At least your not into it that bad that you'll take a loss if you sell it. There's a reason the 5 or 6 Klipsch fanatics tried to steer you clear of Klipsch subs. There was also a reason it sold for $170.00. If you hang around long enough, and I hope you do, you'll find that most all forum members will steer you in the right direction. All you have to do is take advantage of the wealth of knowledge and past experiences that are presented to you. Sure there'll be differences in opinions, but if every poster is basically telling you the same thing, then there has to be something of merit to what they are saying.
  3. The sides and braces are all rigid, the port should be also. I've also heard that the fumes created from silicone curing could damage the driver. I've never read any difinitive papers as to whether that's true or not. It may be one of those urban legends.
  4. Having a friend with a CNC machine.........................PRICELESS! Looks great.
  5. Hmmmm, 5 hours from Beaumont. About the same distance as Beaumont to Corpus. Not a bad ride.
  6. By "any" do you mean "every"? That's a pretty broad brush you're painting with.
  7. On another note, I'm trying to talk the family into letting me drop cable. I can get 1080P tv with my outside antenna. The pic and sound are better than cable. ABC, NBC, CBS and FOX are all available. I personally don't need anything else, but I'm fighting the 3 females of the household. Guess who's winning.
  8. Have you considered just going to discs for your 1080p movie watching? I use Blockbuster. For about $18.00/mo I can get as many movies as I want through the mail. I can have 2 at a time at my house and I get 5 free exchanges at the local store (no waiting on the mail).
  9. I believe FOX News showed that today around the lunch hour. We just happen to have had all the TV's set to that channel here where I work, at a (Chrysler) dealership.[:$]
  10. I'm relitively certain I used THESE.
  11. I just remembered. The Enermax fans went in my Crowns, sorry[:$]. I'll need to get my old paperwork out to find out what I put in my QSC's. I got to looking at the pic I posted and noticed that I gave you bad info in the above post. I DO have the Enermax fans in my cabinet but I think that I put Panamax in the QSC's. The Crowns were 12v and the QSC's (and Behringers) are 24v (I believe[:S]).
  12. THIS is the brand. You'll need to check the size (I think they were 80 mm) and voltage (12v????) before you order. I'm going off memory so double check everything. EDIT, SEE BELOW POST.
  13. I replaced the fans on all my amps and used 2 more of the same fans in the cabinet that the amps are in. 6 fans running all the time, they're barely noticeable when the volume is off and can't be heard at the lowest of volumes or even over conversation. I'd have to do some looking but I think they were Enlobal Enermax???? or something like that. They're bearingless (sleeveless) fans that are extremely quiet. Let me try to find a link.
  14. Doesn't make sense to me either, but it was designed that way, so I'd leave it that way. The filter, although useless as something to clean air, may still knock down a little of the noise from the fan. I left mine in place.
  15. I wasn't ignoring you, I have no idea[:S], You've also doubled your tweeters compared to what you had originally which I suppose would make the problem worse.
  16. The fan swap is really easy. I believe there's a 24v fan in the 1500, similar to the 2500. There's plenty of info HERE . Be sure you orient the fan so it blows in the same direction as the stock fan.
  17. A troublemaker ehhhh. Nyuk nyuk nyuk. Wooo wooo wooo wooo.
  18. Cal, I noticed you didn't mention Pecan as a wood of choice, any reason? I really like it, but I'm no expert. Ever tried it?
  19. Well.................... Tonight was last night, we want a report!!
  20. Cliff, this is exactly what I read, and I believe 42" and under was the point of diminshing returns on 1080p. Seating distance from the screen needs to be factored in as well. The closer you sit, the more lines of resolution you need.
