  1. Can they be moved slightly behind the plane of the screen?
  2. Jeesh, over 57,000 posts by the first 4 people posting on this page (colter, dean, dee and fini). That's a lot of hot air[]
  3. Looks like a motorcycle for people with no sense of balance.
  4. This should stomp a Sub12 for well under your price point. http://www.edesignaudio.com/product_info.php?cPath=2_41&products_id=640
  5. I think he needs to decide if he wants to actually build a sub or find a pre-built sub for under a grand. The answers can go in 2 completely different directions.
  6. I had an AVR-7200. It was a beastly receiver that weighed a ton. Way underrated on wattage. It sounded great with my 7 Series speakers. If you're worried about wattage with the new receivers, you can always look into outboard amplification (provided they have pre-outs).
  7. That's almost the opposite of what I've experienced. I went HD mostly for the picture quality. The first time I heard the lossless audio, I was absolutely floored. To me, the difference was like going from 8 track to cassette! (Yes, I'm that old).
  8. A DVD disc being played in a blueray player simply can't match the picture or sound of a blueray disc in a blueray player. There is more storage capacity for more information on a blueray disc than a standard DVD.
  9. Disturbing post alert! Fini, I'll bet Deliverance is your favorite movie[+o(]
  10. Hurricane, we don't need no steenkin hurricane.
  11. Whatever you decide on, make sure it is rated to allow all available amperage in your circuit through. In other words, if you run a dedicated 20 amp circuit for your HT, you don't want a device that's only rated at 15 amps. Most people will recommend what they own (naturally). I use Furman.
  12. Don't listen to Jeff, it's really magic,
  13. Heck, 10 years has been rough enough on me. Of course I've always been a little scary lookin.
  14. That's not the hand you want to shake if it were attatched to your proctologist[]
  15. Carver made some great 3 channel amps. You'll see them come up from time to time on e-bay. They work very well with Klipsch.
  16. The port volume is not included in the total box volume. Your example is correct.
  17. Indeed... Love those headlights[]
  18. The speakers will sound different in different rooms. They may sound better or worse in his room than they will in yours. His electronics will play a factor also. Hard call as far as the audition goes. Maybe someone will chime in that's heard both sets under the same conditions. The ideal audition would be in your room.
  19. Will they let you try them out?
  20. Depending on budget: NAD T175 Integra 9.8 Anthem D2
  21. I had an internet aquaintance drive about 2 hours to listen to my HT. He was interested in the Infinite Baffle subwoofer I had built as he was considering building one himself. It's basically 4 high excursion 18" subwoofer drivers built into my living room wall. After about 30 minutes of house shaking DVD's we started talking about my gear. The first words out of his mouth were "Man, I love that center channel." (True story).
  22. I'm sorry, what exactly is your question?
