  1. Michael will publish no photo before it's time!
  2. But it was broke - searching, PM, downloading files
  3. If you have cable TV you could have a ground loop from the separate ground path via the cable connection.
  4. Thanks, I happened to say awake in physics class that day!

  6. 901s as nightlights? The Fourier series for a square wave of frequency f is the summation of: (1/(2i-1)) * sin (2i-1) f for i=1 to infinity. So the series looks like: sin f + 1/3 sin 3f + 1/5 sin 5f + 1/7 sin 7f + The series has frequencies from the base frequency through the high end of the audio spectrum. Assuming a base frequency that would normally go to the woofer the crossover will send the incoming signal to all the drivers. That signal is now the full power supply voltage swinging between + and -. The tweeter usually fails because it is the most delicate of the drivers but they are all in harms way.
  7. Probably the kindest way to phrase it would be "enthusiastic collector!" (Of course, it is a set!)

A strong signal on nearby channels can overload the front end of the receiver. It maybe that signal strenght changes at night because of different propagation qualities. ... ---------------- Another, all be it remote, possibility is that there is a station that is interfering that only has a daytime license. I know in the past the FCC used to issue licenses with time restrictions. It might be worth finding out if any stations in the area only operate during daylight hours.

  10. I whole heartedly agree with everything dragonfyr said. (Especially the part about an eminent arrival!)
  11. There is a separate section of the forum for the promedia line. (Further down on the main forum page.) You might get a better response by posting your problem there. Good Luck!
  12. After I got mine set up the way I liked I measured it. The center was running 3db below the mains.
  13. Welcome to the forum! Congratulations on your new/old Khorns! I have '72s and love them! I don't know why you would need to recone the woofers. It is not age. Maybe you could ask?
  14. Um Is it getting power? And, welcome to the forum!

  16. Al, I don't know what driver is in mine. (I have never opened them up.) I would have thought that since it is vintage '86 it would have ceramic magnets. It could be a difference in the TV set. Since my TV is relatively new, purchased Nov-03, it may be set up to handle magnetic fields better than older sets. I just thought it was interesting that we basically did the same thing and had drastically different results.
  17. It was something about life, the universe and everything.

  19. These are HBR Heresys. Note: The back is removable, you can see the screws on the back of the cabinet. The drivers are mounted on the inside of the motor board. From the front you can see the thickness of the motor board where the drivers are mounted. These are HWO Heresy IIs. With the redesign of the II the drivers are mounted from the front and you can see the speaker flange but no motor board edge. The back does not come off on the II; therefore, no screws in the back of the cabinet. Edit: Also notice, the birch raw versions had butt-jointed cabinets. The finished wood cabinets are mitered.
  20. HWO - Heresy Walnut Oiled HBR - Heresy Birch Raw (no finish) They switched to Heresy II in '85.
