  1. I lean on my K-horns all the time looking out the window watching my giant sequoias grow while stroking the fine finish on the top of the K-horns. (my own finish) I also lean up against the top grille piece I designed which is built like a Sherman tank. JJK
  2. I can't believe that guy plays left handed and strings his guitar backwards. JJK
  3. Dr Who: It seems to me with your knowledge and expertise that you would use something much more complex than Movie Maker. JJK
  4. So what is the difference between the XA2 and the A35? JJK
  5. On the same subject there is a small extraction facility in that area that sends probes down into the shale then heat it and extract the oil and the gas. The oil that is extracted is clear and clean and the oil people are going gaga over the results. The biggest drawback is using too much water and finding a way to freeze the perimiter to prevent oil contamination in the water aquifiers. My suggestion for water is in another thread about the "sixth great lake". I figure about a 500 billion project to get them the water and the use of eminent domain by the feds to get the oil shale lands. Right now everybody is thinking "small" instead of out of the box. If I was President I would ram this project through no matter who got hurt---ala George Patten. JJK
  6. Find a bunch of Klipsch guys near you and invite them over for a couple of beers. They will find a way to get those babies through that door. JJK
  7. You can remove the top section from the bottom section with four small screws and then they might fit through your small door. JJK
  8. Theoretically yes, however in my area some of the Digital stations are transmitting low power and reception is not good. I had to get a huge outdoor antenna to compensate. The NBC, ABC, FOX, CBS, are OK as they have adaquate power. And even then you will get some real funny probagational issues that affect digital stations (unlock) even with good signals. MCM electronics has a selection that can be shipped UPS. You might check the AVS forum for your city to see what people are doing. JJK
  9. Please, can't you find a larger room?, a basement? Something? A new house? With the k-horns that close together they are choking to death. But they will still work at tiny SPL's. And they must be in a corner or have corner extensions or the bass will be hugely missing. But anyway, welcome to the forum. JJK
  10. Dean: You have to test those speakers out with something better than Moody Blues. JJK
  11. THE SIXTH GREAT LAKE Recently reading about the flooding in the Midwest and water shortages in the western states I have a solution that will put America back on top of the "can do" list of the greatest projects in the world. The solution is to divert the flood waters from the Mississippi River by the use of dams on the west side of the river only (via short tributaries ala Niagara Falls) at strategic areas allowing the diversion of waters westward to maintain a predetermined depth of the Mississippi River. Each dam would allow the water to flow to predetermined areas via riverbeds or huge concrete culverts to create a huge lake or system of smaller lakes like appendixes in a human being, all of the dams being linked together electronically for total control. The total number of dams, size, electrical generation feasibility, lake size, number, and location, how much water flow during non-flooding conditions, and correct barge traffic depth of the project would be determined by a college student project as they can think outside of the box. The Corps Of Engineers can then construct the project. The dams would be on the west side of the river only, which would not add any new fish control or silt problems. Some of the old dams may possibly be removed if not required for flood control. The scenario here is as the river level increases the "appendix dams" allow more flow keeping the river level the same while diverting the excess water to the parched areas of the west. The "appendix dams" would be large enough spaced together to handle 500 year floods. The new secret oil shale extraction techniques, which the oil companies are all “gaga” over, need water, which can be diverted to Colorado with this project. It is estimated that there are 1.8 trillion barrels of "shale oil" in Colorado and Wyoming. This oil is highly refined and the new extraction process does little damage to the environment. It was estimated that over a trillion gallons of water was wasted flowing back into the Gulf which is suspected of creating the "dead zone". This huge project would solve the Mississippi River flooding, western states water shortage, electrical shortages, reverse the loss of silt buildup at New Orleans, maintain the proper barge traffic levels, and supply water for the new technique of oil shale extraction to reduce energy dependence on foreign oil producers. Since the flood waters would be diverted to the west instead of flowing back to the gulf the fresh water supply in the U.S. would increase instead of remaining the same. The jobs creation involved constructing this project of 500 billion to 1 trillion dollars would be an economic nirvana for the next 50 years. This project would also eliminate the need to divert Great Lakes waters to the parched western states. JJK

    Subwoofer?

I have had the RSW-12 for a few years now and am happy with it. It lowered the effective bottom end from about 40 hz to 19 hz. with gusto. It also smoothed out a lot of the nodes. JJK

  17. Pauln: So how much difference does this make in gas milage? JJK

  19. Sorry about my political assertions. JJK
  20. You can use a small amount of water with the gas but I think Consumers Reports tried this and they said it didn't do crappola. It does make the combustion temp run somewhat hotter. Now if your talking about the burning of water with electricity to create hydrogen that's a different animal which is still in the experimental stage. JJK.
  21. Jeff: You must be wearing stainless steel shorts to start a thread like this. Here comes the Christian Right. JJK
  22. I just saw a news special where they were popping popcorn with three cell phones in use, the corn being in the center of a triangle of cell phones and the RF emitted was popping the corn. JJK
