You answered your own question.  What is the dollar backed by?  The full faith and credit of the US government, and it is still the reserve currency of the world.  What is crypto backed by?  Anyone? Anyone?  Bueller?

It's supposedly controlled by 3 entities that nobody knows.

This is a cover of Fleetwood Mac - Dreams

This young lady sounds close to identical in voice to the original. Even the intonation

I closed my eyes and listened but it was hard to fault

Her voice is smoother than Stevie.

@JJkizak gotta remember those salamander's have rights too!  :)  Ya see em all over out West.  The balancing act completed by bored people out on the trails in the National Parks.  lol  Have to leave their mark somewhere I guess.  Beats destroying things that have been there for centuries.  The one's that do...  That's another story imo.

The Metroparks took the guy to court and he is forever banned from the parks. Also you cannot skip rocks across the water or take rocks home with you. You also cannot plant any kind of tree or plant.

Some home owners along the river built these rock formations, as the water level is low this time of the year. I thought it was pretty cool...                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            20230701_165724.thumb.jpg.3bf33235c82392dbb21850b96ef4e3e8.jpg                      Resized_Resized_20230701_164210.thumb.jpeg.eefc7273265532821b291fe9ca127688.jpeg

Some people did this in the Cleveland Metroparks System and they pitched a royal fit about it because it was disturbing some kind of water salamander.

  6. Western Electric made batteries for their electronics backup that worked in reverse---as the battery discharged the output would increase and when it reached it's maximum capability you had to recharge them. At least that is what my Western Electric Uncle told me.

I may repeat the story shorly ...last saturday I went to our university 2nd hand market to look for sec. hand vinyl. All the sudden I saw a wooden javanese ( indonesian )  goddess in very bad condition , I couldn´t resist and bought it . AsI´ve been many many times in south east asia in the past I still have a deep relationship for their culture and art works.

On my way back home, I bought approx 15  near nint vinyls as well, I thought clean the wood figure and that´s it, so I did . the result didn´t satisfyed me . I wachted her for a long time and I discovered all the details from her robe and as longer I watched as more details I found. I earch for my oil and aquarell color painting stuff and started the renovation from the javaneses goddess

I had forgotten to make a pic in it´s original condition , that one is showing her after I colored the wood block in black and a part of her robe into a silk dark green .

She looked so sad about her undignified condition, two fingers on the right hand as well as one finger and the thumb on the left hand were demolished . In addition, on your headdress was missing the closing cap

    She looked so sad

Today I´ve finised all renovation works , all colors got an silky shine,  I worked approx 30 hours in total , she looks proud and feels much better as she´s so pretty again and she has all fingers and the thumb .

  8. I tried to play the guitar once. I could play the "A" and "C" cord but when I tried "F" I said to myself---"This is bullshit".

My fingers couldn't reach that cord without the bones separating.

I can only imagine the rush that was. Maybe we'll meet up some day and you can tell.

JJ, the cameras we used were CP-16 (Cinema Products), designed mostly for news work. At the station in Memphis, our chief photographer had a CP-16R, with reflex viewfinder.

They had crystal contolled motors, 2 mic inputs. Perfect for news work.

Our cameras had 9.5-57 Angeniuex lenses. I didn't like the short 57, but having the wider 9.5 was nice for cramped offices.

As I remember those CP's were a bit out of my price range. Mine was a $6,000.00 Beaulieu.

@Dave1291  How much sid that bag weigh with all your gear?My 16mm  camera with a 400 ft foll of 16mm film was only 17-18 lbs.

When the first video gear came out, the recorder was about 30 and the camera another 20 or so. I couldn't deal with the weight.

Mine weighed a touch more with the angenuix ? zoom lens and anamorphic projection lens 2.66 x 1 in front. Made a custom aluminum mount for the lens coupling and lens shade. Had a touch of vignetting at max zoom. Turned down the front of the zoom lens in a lathe while holding my breath it wouldn't break. Same with the rear of the anamorphic lens.

    Worked very well.

  11. I liked his spin moves, variation in running speeds to fake out tacklers, brutal stiff arms, running when body is 2 foot high extended, using linemen as blockers and faking directions, and no celebrations when scoring a touchdown. He was 232 pounds and could outrun cornerbacks. I believe he ran the 100 yards  in 10.1 on grass and played injured.
