The blue glow in my 300b tubes pulses to the music when turned up and the lights are off. Pretty cool!

This is not for a ht. The NAD amp I bought for my sub(custom isabaric 2 x 12' peerless drivers - specs below) was very ugly and dead on arival so I am starting from scratch again so I am going to just buy a new one. All the talk about the Cain Abbeys got me look ing at their site where I found the bailey sub http://www.cain-cain.com/bailey/index.html which looks beautiful and I noticed the plate amp/crossover on it after an email or two i learned that it was a Keiga 5250 http://www.madisound.com/kgamps.html . I figure if it is good enough for cain it is good enough for me and will not break the bank. My only concern is that the baily may be more efficient than my sub but I could be wrong. I was look ing at the 5250 which is 4 ohms 600W and the 5230 which is 4 Ohms 300W of course I figure the more power the beter for solid state sub amp. I looked at some plate amps on partsexpress but the price on these seemed better on these and the fact that cain used them was a plus for me. This is going to be used to hit 80 cycles down to 18 cycles lol my current setup is 300b set monoblocks, george wright preamp and belle's. The preamp has a second set of outputs for subwoofer. any advice appreciated thanks again 5250 FEATURES .Very high efficiency Class D amplifier; high current MOSFET output devices. .Low pass frequency adjustable. .Woofer level control. .Phase invert switch control. .Auto on control. .Master power switch. .Provide LFE input. .Provide high level and low level in/out. .Binding post high level in/out terminal. Now all they need to do is get Sam Tellig, blindfold his sorry arse, sit him between two Klipsches (your choice, any of 'em would do!) and re-educate him. ---------------- Hey I think you are on to something here. That would be a fun experiment at one of the CES or similar shows. You could blindfold the participants/vendors and have them all review the system say khorns and some killer tube gear : ). Perhaps even offer a reward for whoever guesses the right speakers. Hell I doubt I could do it but it would be fun to see what they thought khorns actually were. As they leave the demo hand them PWKs favorite button .

When I was finally shopping for La scalas or Belles I went to one of the only audio shops in Little Rock and it was a horendous experience. They had some khorns but wouldn't play them for me can't remember the reason why but i was sad. I was curious about the new klipsch line and while they did show them to me they assured me that the latest b&w were better but to me both sounded ok but I had gone to hear the mighty khorns. At this point I felt pretty bummed out and at last I asked about tube gear wooooo you'd of thought I shat right there on the floor in front of everybody. Then I was told how some niche groups liked tubes but I should look at their yamaha gear. I left the shop thinking how cool it would have been if they had only let me hear the khorns but never returned and have bought every piece I own off the internet or from friends. Who needs arrogant salesmen we have ears.

What are those wires going to the side of the cabinet with the little plastic piece on the top ? Never seen that before just curious.
-
I was mostly looking out of curiosity because you never know when you could stumble on a classic vintage tube gear cheap. Of course they look like they need a good cleaning and going over by a pro. Before I started reading this forum I probably never would have given an old Scott, Brown, WE, or marantz tube amp a second look know if I see one at a flea market or yard sale I am going to run with it.

I was trying to find some tubes for a friend and found this interesting beast. Sure is ugly but never heard of this company. SAARE TUBE TRIODE 2A3 ? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=73371&item=5762296494&rd=1 What vintage 2a3 amps are highly sought after ?

Anyone tried (and not liked) single-driver horns?
seti replied to codhead's topic in 2-Channel Home Audio
The Abby's don't appear to be that small perhaps some cornwalls would rock the bedroom. I was about to purchase some abbey's on audiogon but the same day I was contacted by a seller regarding some Belle's. Thank god. -
I haven't seen them with that color grill before wow! My Belles have the black grills but yours are dead sexy. If I didn't have so many upgrades to my system that I already need to do that would definately be a thought convert black to cane.

What if we have been taught too long to perceive another color as blue in its place and now blue is a sham. Ok now I am ready to comtemplate nirvana and dive into my own bellybutton or argue audio cables.

Lets see I have volume, balance, source select, on off switch nope no tone control or eq. Too switches and buttons and I get confused : )

All chicks dance to James Brown. Funk It Up.

and he uses gold plated switchcraft RCA connectors for his high end cables - i used to sell him the connectors for his cables.... about $5.00 each for the connectors ---------------- Now that is funny! I think I shall build some speakers cables and sell them for $80,000pr lets see I would only need to sell a pair or two a year surely there are that many suckers in the world. I'll need to place an advert in stereophile so I can get some credibility. I'll even have them delivered and installed by the cutest twins you've ever seen. It's just crazy enough to work.

Bull Sh.. I wonder what PWK would say about people being afeared to type Bull Sh.. I could hazard a guess..

Hey what a coincidence my birthday tooo going to hit the whitewater tavern, kelley's, and then try to sober up again still might be drunk from last night..... Q Whats a good thing for a hangover ? A Drinking heavily the night before. : )

I am just curious but what is the most expensive cable out there? Why do they think it constitutes the hugemongus price? I am curious because I came across this ad on AG today http://cgi.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/cl.pl?cablintr&1116198333 $8800 new asking $3900; I have never and will never pay more than $200 for any cables well perhaps if they were blessed by the pope or manufactured by barefoot virgins. I belive The weave looks abit tricky but with some help these could be made for way way less.

The moth gear just looks incredible. I wish the nitelite http://www.mothaudio.com/nitelitehi.html wasn't $595.00.

Ok once again where are the pics of these twins of which you speak? No offense but I am starting to believe they may be voices in your head although voices in your head don't usually take pictures and unplug you from amps......
