  1. there may be a line of people in front of you...I know I should be with at least one in front of me... Bill
  2. If willand passes I'd like these for my brothers H2s Bill
  3. I don't think you could go wrong with a nice pair of kg4s...great bass... Bill
  4. Beautiful...good luck with your sale... Bill
  5. These should be plug and play for the Heresy ll...unplug the connections to the tweeter, mid squawker and woofer, connect to the new crossover and place crossover in the base of the speaker laying on the bottom...enjoy! Bill
  6. Thank you for posting this...I remember those that sacrificed for my Freedom... Bill
  7. I hope someone chimes in...you made me think about this and I hadn't realized how similar these spacers are... Bill
  8. exactly my take...the clicks and pops, memories for sure... Bill
  9. I'd like to add that Bob Crites Titanium tweeter modification has awakened the highs on my kg2s...I think at least one of the original tweeter diaphragms was on its way out...(some scratchiness-static sound at certain notes) Bill
  10. Steely Dan aja sounds better than I remember on my old college rig (Yamaha CA-610II, Technics SL-D2 and an Audio-Technica Cart)...who knows if I'll keep it this way but I am enjoying listening to this combo and it makes a very small footprint in a spare bedroom right now... Thanks for the encouragement and support... Bill
  11. Hopefully someone else will chime in here but I thought something along the lines of Klipsch had already incorporated this change to their later Heresys by the late 1970s... Bill
  12. Smaller but mine wasn't too bad...on the kg2s I just did it fixed the highs and cleared them making them a bit cleaner and more articulate...on some songs mine had a bit of scratchiness almost like static... Bill
  13. I had the much older 950/7100 combo...sold it off in a low time but also tried their 1050 and now have their 1070 HT receiver...paired with 3 Heresys across the front and an Outlaw sub I like it for Home Theater... for two channel music, I prefer other stuff but for movies and music DVDs and such it's very nice...not saying that it isn't good for 2 channel but I have other options (including their own RR2150 2 channel retro Receiver)... I also look forward to your review of your components... Bill
  14. I know many of you real vinyl heads will turn up your nose at the Technics Table but I'm not worried 'cuz I still like what I'm hearing... Bill
  15. I'm embarrassed to say that a previous set up many years ago left me to abandon listening to any vinyl and my vinyl collecting ended about mid 1980s...so I had never given the McIntosh MA6200 phono section a try... Inspired yesterday by another thread on another Forum, I breathed new life into a pair of Klipsch kg2s adding a pair of Bob Crites Titanium tweeter updates...sounded very nice... Today, I found myself with some time and dug out my old but rarely used Technics SL-1300 direct drive turntable with it's near mint Shure V-15 Type III...I picked this TT up many years ago along with the cart hoping to reinvigorate the old vinyl days, thought less of it after a listen and put them away and basically forgot about them... With the extra time, pair of speakers hooked up to nothing, I decided to put a system together to listen to them...seeing the TT I decided, why not... Listening to my old copy of The Secret Policeman's Other Ball and this combination sounds wonderful... I have better speakers that I could team this with but for right now, I am listening to some components that I haven't heard in maybe 8-10 years and am really enjoying the synergy with this McIntosh integrated amp...yum I know I want to downsize but I may have to hold on to some of this a bit longer... Bill
  16. It could be merely the tweeter diaphragm...Yesterday I pulled my kg2s from the garage...listening to them, I heard some scratchiness from one of the tweeters on some songs, not all the time but... I had a pair of Bob Crites Titanium tweeter diaphragms...I have used these in many Klipsch speakers without disappointment...after replacement my kg2s no longer had that scratchiness, and sounded crisp, clear and clean...articulate...that seems to me to mean that my original diaphragms were not working well... Good luck with your choice... Bill
  17. perhaps why they went from lower case kg to capital KG for the series after the original kg2 and kg4??? Sorry for the bump but really digging on a pair of kg2s that I've had since new...A thread on another forum that caters to Klipsch speakers inspired me to dig these out of the garage, clean the oiled oak finish and give it some Watco rejuvenating oil and try 'em out... I just replaced the tweeter diaphragms with Crites Titanium tweeter diaphragms (never a disappointment) and they sound good with a decent amount of bass... Bill
  18. I checked with Bob and he does still sell single Titanium Tweeter Diaphragms so you are in luck if you go that route...half the price of a pair but the same shipping...good luck, I enjoy my KLF-C7 with the Titanium Tweeter Diaphragm... Bill
  19. if you have the room, I don't see you really losing with this...part of the fun to me IS the journey so trying some speakers moves the ball forward even if you eventually decide that this is a step back... Bill
  20. I have Chorus lls that I liked better than a pair of hotrodded Cornwalls or any Cornwalls that I have heard...that said, the Cornwall verticals may sound a touch different than regular Cornwalls because of the placement of the components inside the box... No matter what, it shouldn't be too hard to sell Cornwalls if yo didn't find you liked them as much as your Chorus'... I preferred the balance between the Tweeter, Mid and Woofer on my Chorus ll to the bass heavy sound I hear with Cornwalls...it seems to my ear that the mids on Cornwalls (even the llls) lose a bit of midrange clarity, overpowered by the bass...but that's my ears... Good luck with your choice... Bill
  21. must remember I'm downsizing... I can't ship the McIntosh without their shipping box/pallet Been listening to both of these now with Quartets and Chorus lls and they both sound wonderful...they just won't unseat my Dr. Bill/Daddy Dee/Craig Ostby-NOSValves Eico HF-81 so they should move on to someone who will enjoy these regularly... Bill
  22. I bet that was a nice show... Bill
  23. good luck with your sale...I'm sure they will be sold soon. Bill
  24. If jweber passes and you still wanted to get that Outlaw Audio RR2150 I have up for sale, I may be interested in these towards my asking price...but I do not wish to jump anyone's interest in a straight deal if that is more to your wishes...just puttin' it out there... Bill
