  1. Denon rules for movies.......A Denon receiver sucks for music by itself but is "high end" IMO when used as a preamp with seperates.
  2. So, when you run through the test tones on your receiver......are they considered "Pink Noise"? Or do you have to get a disk to play it through your system?
  3. I've always favored slight cuts rather than boosts with and eq. Tone controls have also been a long time friend of mine. When a system is run flat.....that's exactly how it sounds to me...FLAT. I like to tweak it a little......just a little. Now I enjoy room treatments in addition to eq and an active crossover. []
  4. I believe new LaScala's cost about $5200 a pair. You could find used LaScala l's for half that......or even less.Used RF-7's can be had for $800-$1400.........KLF-30's $600-$1100.......Cornwall's I've seen for $600. I wouldn't give up on used speakers.....they're out there, just gotta be patient. Klipsch owners generally take very good care of their speakers. If I could go back and do it all over again.....I would have been more patient and bought used........could have saved a considerable amount of dough. I have to admit though, sitting here thinking about a brand new pair of LaScala's or Jubs is making me giddy. []
  5. How much money are you willing to spend? The sky is the limit if you've got the bread.
  6. I agree with Jay. You will be happy with RF-7's but you'll be happier implementing a sub........especially since you listen to agressive music. My listening room consists of four RF-7's and three subs. After a heavy listening session.......I'm never left wanting more. Impressive. [Y]
  7. X2........Beautiful setup Gilbert, that Conquest looks massive. [Y]
  8. Where are you located? http://forums.klipsch.com/forums/t/111096.aspx
  9. "Slim and trim"? Did you see his avatar?[:$]
  10. I used to have that system in high school.........hang on, the damn phone's ringing again. []
  11. What kind of sub were you using? .....Or is it a matter of not having enough space?
  12. I cross my 7's at 40hz..........although they don't sound bad at 60 or 80hz.
  13. Remember when turtle necks and wrestling shoes were cool................Party Time.
  14. Sounds like you've had A LOT of experience with the LaScala's.[Y] What amps have you found to work best with the LaScala's? Worst amps with the LaScala's?
  15. Is this the one? http://www.lenexpo-electronics.com/4x1-Shinybow-Stereo-Audio-Switcher-w-Remote-p-17397.html
  16. Crossover??? I have a friend that has been experimenting with an SW-8 and KG-1.5's in a bedroom system. He is very impressed in what the SW-8 is doing for the KG's. He says the SW-8 has two 8" woofers and a crossover inside a ported box.......no amp. I was thinking about making something similar to go with my RF-7's. I wonder if the op's dual RW-12d's were originally constructed for this purpose? (mid-bass module)
  17. I also have that thinking. I just want to be surrounded by big speakers and cool looking gear. Btw, leather recliners are the icing on the cake for me. [Y] Good Luck. []
  18. I'm interested to hear what you find out. I've been thinking about building something similar to enhance mid-bass in my system for music only. I'm also guessing that there is no amp inside the box........probably the two woofers and a crossover. Do you have any way of finding out who the Klipsch employee is that built the box?
  19. This is the first time since I've been out of high school (20 years) that new home construction is virtually at a stand-still. Had a good run, though.......Balls out 12 months out of the year for almost two decades. I haven't worked in 3 weeks because THERE IS NO WORK TO GET. [:@]
