    SOLD

I've heard the rf-15, they are pretty good entry level reference.
  2. OK now I understand the fuss over Cornwall's. The bass will punch you, the mids are silky smooth & the highs are clear. Excellent for a 2 channel application. I ran them alone & with my 7's & sub. Very good in whichever configuration I tried though the sound is somewhat different. The cw seems to be wider & not as "in your face" as the 7's. I don't have enough listening time in yet to know which I prefer. Maybe a changeout every few months. I do know I want some CornScalas. Wednesday morning I drove the cw's to BEC. I met Bob & his son Michael. Two very nice gentlemen. He spoke nicely of you Dean.[] I went to play golf (2 over) & when I got back they were testing them. The networks had been freshened & Bob's tweeters were installed. They were testing outside using some ipod contraption & the cw's sounded great. We loaded them up & Bob took me into his shop. I haven't been to the Hope Museum but this place can't be much different. Bob has multiple sets of heritage sitting around, tons of vintage amps (tubes & ss) & testing equipment. I could just envision Mr. Klipsch in the 50's. The LaScalas sounded fantastic, my goodness the clarity, but a little bass shy. He has built a pair of speakers with cutouts for 3 different tweeters so he can send a specific recording to test each quickly, or the other drivers for that matter. I want some CornScalas. I saw 2 pairs of CornScalas Bob had completed. Oh man what great sound & these were sitting high on a shelf because he is out of room. There was still great bass & the mids & highs were crystal clear. These will be the next speakers I buy. I want to thank Bob & Michael for being gracious hosts. I practically barged in on them. I feel very fortunate to have seen & heard what I did. Did I mention I want some CornScalas? John
  3. I don't either but I like winners!
  4. My thoughts and prayers here as well.
  5. These guys are giving great advice. Let me add: I bought rf-7's & a Harman Kardon 7200 receiver last year. The receiver is a processor & amplifier in one single piece of electronic unit. My sound was good. Recently, i've moved my h/k to another system & I bought separates to use with my rf-7's. Seperates are 2 electronic units. One unit processes the source signal & has no amplification capabilities. The other unit merely amplifies the signal it receives from the processor. I don't know all the why's but a seperate configuration simply sounds better, imo. In my case I use an Outlaw Audio pre/pro (unit 1) & a QSC plx-2402 amplifier (unit 2). My sound is much more pleasing now. As for a Dean upgrade, search "deang crossover mod" or "rf-7 crossover upgrade".
  6. Listening, will write thoughts tommorrow. btw you have a pm.
  7. Congrats Trey. I heard my first pr of LaScalla's Wednesday & I want some.
  8. Love the pic of your little girl Damon
  9. I have ordered those Omaha steaks, yummy.
  10. I never got into the coffee thing but in college used to pop the vivrin tablets to cram.
  11. Are you talking about Microsoft updates etc?
  12. Patience is a rare virtue. Looks like you have done well so far. I would pick up a RC-7. The center channel carries a lot of information in dvd movies. The c-7 has been discontinued so the price has gone down. It will perform better than the rc-35. I have never heard the new 62. Some forum guys have used a pair of rc-7's for rears & sides they like the sound so much.
  13. You might want to look at the QSC plx-2402
  14. Fair enough. I will try Colter's or pmsummer's suggestion after you work your magic.
  15. Hi Phil The rf-7 crossover upgrade (you can search that phrase & pull up old threads) is a fairly large improvement to my ears. There just seems to be "more" of everything. Specifically, the low end bass appears to be more noticable. The midrange is certainly more noticable & smoother. The highs were tamed a little. The whole speaker seems clearer, more refined and fuller, most apparent with sound affects. For example, I am drawn more to drumsticks tapping, fingers touching guitar strings, cymbals etc., the little nuances of music or movies. The clarity was improved, not that it is bad in stock form. Installation was easy & improvement was immediate. It makes my listening more pleasing. My tastes lend toward clearly hearing what i'm listening to. The rc-7 crossover was improved even more, again to my ears. As far as music vs. movies, man I don't know. I don't have a musical background at all. No band in school or anything of the nature. I decided last year I wanted to buy new speakers to listen to music & watch movies with. Klipsch is made local to me & I love their "live" sound. I also appreciate the company providing a forum & allowing a Pilgrimage. Although I wouldn't have dreamed a year ago I would spend an hour each night reading some stupid audio forum.[] I have noticed the better the sound in my home the more I want. John
  16. I thought you guys were talking about me.[]
