Dual 15 inch Corner Bass Bin - Cornscala dbb
capo72 replied to jwc's topic in Technical/Restorations
I love it everytime this thread comes back up. I have read it from the beginning about 4 times. I'm thinking about a DIY project in the near future, and i'm torn between the Cornscala dbb, and something like Wardsweb is currently using. This is great stuff. BTW the two tier networks look awesome. Jeremy -

Are these K-horns located at Video Lab? If so then I have seen them. At the time no one seemed too anxious to sell them. I was not a serious buyer, but still no one wanted to chit-chat about them. I've been meaning to stop back in there sometime. I have an old JVC receiver I need him to look at. Jeremy

Building a center channel to match KLF series?
capo72 replied to Capa's topic in Technical/Restorations
There are a couple people here with home made KLF centers, so I'll let the experts give you the details. I wanted to make the point that the KLF-10 is a 2-way speaker. 1 horn, 2x10" drivers. I don't think that would be the best match for your 30's. I would look for parts from a 20 or a 30. The KLF-10 would not be as good of a timbre match as a 20 or 30. good luck to you. Jeremy -

OT: Attn motorheads re: synthetic oil in a lawn mower
capo72 replied to Mighty Favog's topic in General Klipsch Info
Look for an old Jacobsen or Lawn Boy. The absolute BEST mower we ever had when I was a kid was a 2-cycle Jacobsen. That mower had 4 small blades mounted on a (very heavy) disk that acted like a flywheel. Once you got that sucker up to speed you could cut through grass as high as your eyeballs. I guess I do remember those mowers. Tom mentioned that his was new. Everyone is getting away from 2-cycle engines now, for emission reasons. I think the 6.5 hp Briggs he is referring to is indeed a four stroke. Do you mix oil and gas? Does it have an oil injection chamber? Jeremy -

capo72 replied to Mighty Favog's topic in General Klipsch Info
I don't think i've ever seen a 2-cycle lawn mower. I would be curious to see one though. I've owned 2-cycle weed eaters (Have a 4 stroke now!) but never a mower. Jeremy -
I'd love to have any Rush, Supertramp, Jackson Brown and Styx you can spare. I am also looking for some Yes and any Robert Cray and any Steely Dan not spoken for. Do i need to pm my address, or e-mail? Did I gather that you are accepting Paypal for the shipping cost? Jeremy

K-Horns and Cornwalls on Ebay for anyone interested
capo72 replied to DaleR's topic in 2-Channel Home Audio
Well, it already passed my max bid, so i guess it didn't matter when I bid. BTW, never said I like to bid often. I just do it once and forget about it. Jeremy -
K-Horns and Cornwalls on Ebay for anyone interested
capo72 replied to DaleR's topic in 2-Channel Home Audio
The Cornwalls are about 10 minutes away from me. I talked to the seller this morning on the phone. I may go look at them later today. If someone here buys them and needs storage or whatever, I may be able to help in some way. Jeremy p.s. Oh, and if I do bid, I'll put in my max bid early and forget about it. If someone snips me, oh well. They must have been willing to pay more. -
Moving.........................Thanx for sharing Bill. It is easy to forget how good we have it. I am guilty of taking for granted the freedom we enjoy at the expense of our fallen soldiers. Many of us are need to be reminded from time to time. Jeremy

PureAV power conditioners... vs... Furman, Panamax, Monster
capo72 replied to formica's topic in Home Theater
I also have the Monster HTS 3500 MKII. I like it, except fot the extremely bright blue LED on the front. Parts express has B stock for $129. That is a steal for this unit IMO. http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?&DID=7&Partnumber=189-025 Jeremy -

That looks awesome. I'm coo coo for cocobolo! What is it finished with? Jeremy -
Oh, and to get back on topic, those K-horns are beauties. If they were local, i'd be in the hunt. Jeremy

You must be right, because you said it. Apparently I have no commom sense. Jeremy

My intention is not to argue eBay bidding theories, but what is wrong with putting in your max bid on day 1 and waiting for the results. If you only bid once it does not matter when you bid. You are not bidding against your self if you put in your max bid and walk away. I understand , and also use the sniping strategy, but I have also found something I wanted right after it was listed, and put in a bid of the most I am willing to pay. I feel this is a more disciplined method of bidding. You do not get caught up in the emotions of bidding and maybe paying more than you were originally willing to. If somebody else wants it more than me, oh well. I agree bidding early and often may be considered foolish, but i'm tired of hearing people say it's stupid to bid early. Jeremy

I normally don't like to talk about something i'm trying to buy either, but in this case I didn't think it would happen for me, so I thought i'd try to help someone out. Sorry to worry you. I'm glad it all worked out for you. I wish I could have beat you to the punch on your Blueberry/VRD deal. Persistance pays off for sure. It's a small world we have here! Jeremy

They never even sold for that much new did they? If a person were patient enough, you could probably own 4 pair for $6k. Jeremy -
$4500 For Scratched up Belles- Any takers??
capo72 replied to Cornwalled's topic in General Klipsch Info
It looks like the reserve is under $1700. That's not out of line. It's not really a great deal, but not out of line either. He states that he needs to sell them, so the market will determine the price. Jeremy
