  1. ??? I think I remember being pretty disappointed when seeing made in china on my RB-35s . . . perhaps I need to double check tonite
  2. THANKS!! (if I knew how to insert a smiley doing the waynes world "we're not worthy" bow here, I would, LOL)
  3. why would you use RC-25 "Center" channel speakers for your mains AND center? RC-25s sell for $280 - $300 each . . . for that money, you instead could easily have a pair of RB-35 with change left over to upgrade the center to an RC-35
  4. ---------------- posted by el: "I know just as much about tubes as Jessica Simpson knows about buffalo wings." ---------------- And that my friend, is more then I know about tubes, LOL BTW, Shane, thanks for the update...I reeeeally wanted to get the RF-35s first but didn't have the patients of scratch at the time so I figured I'd get the RB-35s and move them to the rear as soon as I could swing RFs...wouldn't you know it, I came across an easy $400 side deal helping a friend with a project a week after I got the RBs (smackes forhead). . . now I "NEED" to get more funds and aquire some RFs!!! BTW II, Colin (Anyone) I'm seem to know less about creating a profile and posting here then Jessica Simpson knows about buffalo wings as well...Is there a thread here to help newbies with setting these things up?
  5. Klipsch RSW-15 DIMENSIONS: 19.2" (48.8cm) x 18.6" (47.2cm) x 24.5" (62.2cm) http://www.klipsch.com/product/product.aspx?cid=371&s=specs while my little sub is only about 2" x 14" x 15" and makes a decent side table, I could easily fit the larger RSW-15 in the same space...in my small house (if I could afford said sub, LOL)
  6. Nice load . . . I wish you were delivering it to my place
  7. "..If I had the cash.." ------------------------- Unfortunitly, my 9hugh) lack of cash isn't the only thing holding me back...for me, at least now timing wise, the road trip requirement just makes this tough
  8. ^^^ AWESOME setup Picky!!! I am not only envious of your system, I also wish my 1955 brick ranch had a basement, LOL BTW, "..Inwalls are actually a much better option... but I would try to use real mains.." I would add that while inwalls might be a better option for sound qaulity, ANY permenently installed (inwall/cieling) speakers are going to cause problems in the future . . . I say this because I think speaker placement is very critical and inwall/cieling speakers can't easily be relocated to see if an alternate postition sounds better, let alone if the wife decides to re-arrange the furniture, which in a "multi-purpose" room WILL happen
  9. bi-wire - how does it work? As far as I am concerned, it works great for the manufacturer, store & salesman who all seem to have found a way to increase sales without having to have gone to the trouble of finding new customers...marketing victory. as for, "...Apparently the market demanded it and so Klipsch Inc., which had some relation with Monster Wire at the time, put in the extra terminals..." I have to admit my ignorance here, I was under the impression that the "extra-terminal" were provided for Bi-Amping?
  10. color me ignorant . . . I have always simply went with 12ga and cut it a couple ft longer then required.
  11. --------------------------------- "... yes I was hot and did my fair share of perspiring but it didn't matter how long I was out in the heat there, I never got completely soaked in sweat like I do in just a few minutes here in the Tampa Bay area..." --------------------------------- That is because that with the desert's lower humidity, your perspiration is able to evaporate . . . Much more quickly. In Fact, I was STUNNED at when I went swimming at the Pool when I was there last summer . . . it was incredible how fast I dried just from evaporation! btw, I too am in construction and 'worked' my wife pretty hard to consider us moving out there . . . I loved it!
  12. EEK! Wow, when all this dumping on the RF-7's gets out, I should be able to pick up a nice pair on ebay for cheap . . . Note to all unhappy owners of 'mint' Black RF-7's: I got $500 that I'll trade you for your 'mint' pair . . . today!
  13. --------------------------- oldtimer posted: "..I have heard $250 onkyo home theater in a box (receiver included) that sounds better than $1300 bose systems. Go figure.." --------------------------- That is no surprise to me since even the little $140 Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 speakers that I hooked up to my old home pc sound better then a friends blose acumass . . .
  14. if I had the means, I would buy the lot this minute . . . While I agree completily with Parrot with regards to "Collectors and their Collecting", I would consider finding the right buyer to purchase each item in the collection to be a very satisfying way to be envolved in the audio gear hobby . . . pretty much self suffient as well!!
  15. Oops! It appears that I should read the entire thread and associated links before displaying my ignorance . . . oh well, it was fun, LOL
  16. hmmmm, that "..This is accomplished by crossing over to the two woofer drivers from the mid-range driver at 1 kHz and allowing the two woofer drivers to remain active down to 200 Hz, below which one of the drivers becomes passive.." sounds a bit like the Klipsch "Tapered Array" x-over used in the R series center channel speakers . . . except the woofer is never "passive" below 200 Hz, jsut by-passed, so to speak.
  17. uhhhh, what does (OT) mean and how do I 'up-load' PICs?
  18. slowdown and try not to be to triggerhappy. Make sure it isn't just a electrical issue on your end.
  19. Shane, I'll be interested in knowing how it sounds as well since my dream is to move my RB-35's to the rear when/if I secure so RF-35's for my mains . . .
  20. color me clueless but your example sounds exactly like biamping to me, since you are using 2 discrete channels
  21. ^^^ I agree! IMO, a decent mp3 cd loaded with 200 songs can really "Make" a road trip! I recently returned from a one week, 2,000 mile trek and was easily entertained with just Three mp3 CD's . . . Heck, there are a couple songs from the third CD that I didn't even have time to hear, LOL
  22. -------------- Bill H posted: "...What he was telling us, and what every audiophile should know, is to put as much money as you can into your speaker system; any decent amplifier, tube or solid state, will do the rest..." -------------- Great! Thanks for posting what I'll take as an endorsment for powering my Klipsh speakers with my merely decent AVR... almost makes my budget/mass market electronics purchase decisions look as good as they now sound, LOL
  23. ---------------- On 7/23/2005 9:34:46 AM mdeneen wrote: 150 watts claimed, 2 watts delivered. Ooooooh, just short of the goal! mdeneen (Re:Wavac) ---------------- DANG! And to think some folks trash Sony as 'over-rating' their AVR's . . . had I that kind of lose money, I'd gladly keep my crapy STR DE 995 and upgrade my house, LOL
  24. "..how do you all resist the temptation to buy more equipment?.." SIMPLE... Lack of Funds!!! That and the fact that my Home Audio bug has to fight with my Mobil Audio bug, Preformance Truck bug, Snowboard bug, Mtn bike bug and Karate bug . . . . it does seem that the Home Audio bug has is kicking major arse lately, LOL
