  1. Dittos Steve. My copy has a DTS track which has more bite than the Dolby EX. These guys were always very versatile. I saw the them live at the old Capital Center, outside of D.C., back in the mid 70's. Besides a very sharp Eagles this concert has a great group of support musicians. I've owned my copy for six months and enjoy it often.
  2. I have Chorus speakers in my HT (C/SB). I was powering them with a receiver(Pioneer 912X). Not satisfied I bought a second power amp on Ebay ( B&K St 140). The B&K passes a lot of current to your speakers and Klipsch speakers love this. My first try was with a ST140 and Klipschorns. Great detail and very clean sound. I'm still powering my surrounds (Heresy) with the receiver but this will change in '06. A good amp with Klipsch is a front row seat. Merry Christmas!
  3. I agree with Mr. McGoo. Set to large my Khorns did in fact sound "larger". I went back to small M/C/SB and the audio was tighter. The center (Chorus) was the biggest plus w/ the small setting. This is not major IMO, as both ways still sounded good. My receiver (Pioneer 912x) has a feature which allows a LFE signal to be sent to SB. In my system this is a Chorus. The bass sounds like a large sub. I'm powering with B&K amps (ST140) which my Klipsch speakers love.
  4. Your new speakers are indeed "sweet". Now on to the amp. Be sure it's "high current". Now on & on &on. It's all great fun. Stay close to the Forum for all the Info.
  5. I picked up a reiissue two set of this great movie at Costco for $12.99. The news is the second disc is labelled Imax and includes DTS surround. This is very special Both the picture quality and sound are outstanding. The Saturn 5 liftoff blasts through every speaker. An A/B with the standard first disc reveals what can be done. Don't miss this one.
  6. The chapter 5 scene where the road cracks comes up from the floor.Another "klipsch style" flick.

    Star Wars III

Klipsch users will love this soundtrack. Along with Master & Commander this movie has the best dynamics out there.
  8. Chorus makes a good center for the big horns. I moved my Heresys to surround w/ Chorus at center and SB,Khorns at main. The sound is HD. I thought the Heresy was a good timber match(at center), but the sound too shallow.
  9. Good thread. I like B&K myself and power my Klipshorns with a ST-140, sounds clear and tight. Classical strings are "in the room".
  10. I've noticed that E-Bay posts 6-8 B&K items always. I think this is a great line for the money.
  11. B&K improved my system alot. Try running your system with just the Yamaha, then plug your B&K back up,that should answer your question.
  12. I play Peter, Paul & Mary thru my Klipschorns and they are in the room.

    Best Horn Player

This is a thought provoking thread. I always liked Paul Desmond's sound,so clean.Charlie Parker,Bert K. too many to name.
  14. Master and Commander-"Quicks the word-sharps the action"
  15. Rich, The Heresy surrounds are on small tables at ear level. The Chorus went to HT. I'll disconnect and rewire when I listen to records, that's easy in my room(23x24). Regards,Gary
  16. Recently purchased a pair of mint' 88 Chorus from a fellow forum member. I purchased these for use in a 2 channel TT arrangement. I tried them in my HT (center and surround back) and moved my old C & SB (Heresy) to surround. My mains are Klipschorns. This arrangement is fantastic. The Chorus as a center produces a softer, more detailed sound than the Heresy. Much more power. I turned down the EQ on the receiver(Pioneer 912x) and the whole system is mucher lounder and dynamic. The Heresies are ideal surround speakers. In playing the Roy Orbison Black & White DVD all the supporting voices are there clearly in back and Bruce is clear singing backup in the center Chorus(not heard before). The Chorus at center produces great bass, which I did not get previous. I use a Klipsch THX sub (15" W/15" passive) to round this off.B&K amps the Khorns. I'm very pleased with this setup.I would recommend the Chorus speaker to anyone for HT PS I listened to an orchesta concert on public TV last night and it sounded like a DVD.
  17. Chuck Berry- Johnny B. Goode Buddy Guy- Chicago B.B. King- The Thrill is Gone
  18. Digital is so much easier than setting up a good sounding turntable playback system. Having almost completed my HT setup I'm now working on 2 Channel. My turntable is a used Thorens TD-160(E-bay). The electronics are the same '80's vintage, Pioneer SPEC1 preamp and Pioneer SA-9500 amp. I will use Chorus (1988) speakers. I still have to clean my '60's & '70's records. It's all great fun. I'll post the results.
  19. I agree retail is tough ,getting worse, for all concerned. There is NO excuse for rudeness. The salesperson doesn't know your potential as a consumer. Service seperates the bricks and mortar store from the web store.
  20. Look into B&K Components. Top quality, American made amplifiers. Buy new or E-bay,Audiogon.
  21. I recently preouted my mains (Khorns) from a Pioneer 912x receiver to a B&K ST-140. The improvement was dramatic. There no beating a good amp with Klipsch.
  22. Today I noticed a pair of these speakers for sale at $1200. That caught my attention (high price). A poster over at Audiogon said these were Klipsch's best sounding. I'm curious what my fellow Forum members think.

    KT-SW THX

I recently purchased this sub on E-bay($600 @ shipping) and have no history, other than the brief on Klipsch. Does anyone have knowledge of this unit?.
  24. I'm sure you have thought this through. HOWEVER! YOU WILL REGREAT SELLING YOUR WORLDCLASS SYSTEM FOR MASS MARKET STUFF.
  25. I recently purchased a KT-SW THX on E-Bay. The quality is first rate. powerful and tight, especially with music. I would recommend the THX line.
