  1. Yikes! They shipped the power amps with the tubes installed? The tubes are taller than the rest of the amp....I am surprised they were shipped like that[:^)]
  2. Bluesboy has my two old (2005) LS cabinets at his shop gathering dust.....very good shape....birch with tongue oil finish. I'll give him a call.
  3. Looks good.....just did the same. Beef tenderloin 1 1/2", corn on the cob, Mattamuskeet Sweet onions. PM....some website....spent an hour there the other night.
  4. Right you are Lou.......thought that was it but didn't want to stick my neck out too far. Thanks for the assist. Loud and Clear got his styrofoam so everything turned out okay. Happy holiday[<)]
  5. A distinguished forum member stopped by......we had Tito's martinis and a couple of beers.....listening to Cannonball Adderly, Sonny Rollins, Miles Davis , Neil Young and Bob Dylan in no particular order. Now to get ready for dinner out and hopefully an early night. Aaah....life in the slow lane[]
  6. I'll have one with you Buck......what do you want to drink to? "Lets drink to our legs" from Jaws.....the original.....my favorite scene.
  7. Wise crack or not OB I tend to agree with you. Loud & Clear has 7 Klipsch systems according to his signature....and if this is his first request fo assistance....I think it should be honored. "You can't get the styrofoam without the kit" reminds me of a movie I can't recall the name of where the guy goes into the restaurant and ask for dry toast.....the waitress said we don't have dry toast....so he said "I will have a chicken salad sandwhich...toasted....and hold the lettuce, tomato, and chicken salad". Anyway.....for an economy that has become service driven.....we seem to forget the customer .....way too often. Just my take.
  8. Congrats on the Horn Monos. Let us know what you think of them after you have had time for a good listen. Expect to have to set your volume much higher on your preamp due to the gain design of the monos. They are dead quiet between cuts and a tube rollers dream.
  9. I would go along with the ban....but everything I say is soooooo important I wouldn't want you all to miss out[:^)] Anyway....I want to talk some more about vodka and grilling with my forum buds and I can't do that if I am banned. So maybe next time.
  10. Hey Hal.....good swap indeed....the stock tubes are screaming to be replaced. Got a note from the postal service on my front door that they had attempted to deliver a package today. I am guessing its two nos mullards from a seller in Argentina! That will complete the preamp retube. Still using kt-77s in the horn monos. Yeah I replaced the 12dw7 with a Jan/Phillips tube. Learned that JAN stands for joint army navy milspec tubes. Its all good fun[] Keep in touch.
  11. Congrats BadDad......Very good purchase....great price.....I bought a HK tubed receiver made in 1962 off audiogon and I love the sound. Enjoy!
  12. Eight innings against a well trained and disciplined japanese team....what a game...and a fairy tell ending for one young man. Teams from all over the world...what are the odds that two teams from one state would go back to back. Little league...what a good experience.
  13. Brian....a lot of folks complain about sandy soils but I would take that any day over clay. You are right about the fungus problem....thing is its so humid here the grass rarely dries. If I had some good wind that would be great but as I said I am in the woods. Finished watering yesterdays treatment in and will mow monday. The gray leaf spot had really thinned my grass out but I can get that part back in shape. I have heard it said that if you cover your whole yard with triple ground compost over the winter that you will have a much better yard in the spring. May be a little costly....about the cost of a few Bluenote LPs[]
  14. Thanks Pauln and Oscar. Two things I didn't mention that maybe I should have. The service I have been using uses only organic materials. The other problem is I have clay type soil and water runs off before it penetrates. Hard to tell if you are over watering. I usually let nature provide the water but we have been in a significant drought here Like that lawn mower Pauln....thanks for the picture....I am going to check into it. Have been using a 21" John Deere push power mower but you guys have me thinking.
  15. No...I would recognize a tree....maybe an old tractor or hay bales? Kind of blurred on my screen.
  16. or maybe not.....come on guys.....help out our new forum member from Kingston.....he has been listening to static for three hours now.
  17. Now there is some grass......nice place Steve...can't make out what that is in the top right corner.
  18. Welcome to the forum Mr. RF62. Someone will be with you shortly[]
  19. Sounds nice Maron....good description....can almost see it.
  20. I said a big birthday cake......I know you are petite....I was allowing 20 pounds for the cake. Man.....I've got to get a life....been here off and on all day.
  21. Phil......we are 16 inches below normal rainfall. Weather channel calls for scattered showers every afternoon and it just passes us by. Texas on the other hand has way more than they need. Would be nice to just change up and balance it out.
  22. Good Phil.....I will meet you at the IHOP just outside of Knoxville at 9:00am. We can get some pancakes and then go see if that crown is really plugged in. If not then we can do some factory required maintenance that Richard will never get around to. PS......bring some vice grips. This is great fun.
  23. okay then....what my good bud Duke said. Wake up OB....you're missing the fun. Phil....I'm with you. Can you find Richard's house?
  24. CECAA850.......Tito's vodka rules! Yard work aside.....texas vodka is alright by me. Just finished my second martini (my limit). Maron.....lets go find a good bar fight.....young guys just don't know how to do it right[]
  25. Hal.....as long as it involves consenting adults I think it is okay.
