I had a problem with DTS and my Yamaha 2095. When playing DTS sound, I would hear annoying high pitched chirps. The DD was perfect. It was only in DTS and on any movie with a DTS soundtrack. It turned out to be a bad processor in the Yamaha. I took it back for exchange and didn't have a problem with the new one. A buddy of mine has it and it works like a charm for him too. Point being, there could be a hardware fault with the Yammy.
  2. Onecall has or had the ATI AT2505 for $1400. I haven't heard this amp but the reviews for it look great. Then you have the rest of the money for a processor, fishing trip, beer, and whatever.
  3. Congratulations!!! Now time to find that elusive KLF-C7...Well, I guess they're not all that elusive. Just expensive.
  4. Walk in with $750 and see if they grab it. If they have been there for a few years, every month they stay on the showroom floor will costs them money. So wave the $750 at them. I bet they take it.
  5. St. Pete here. I can bring any of my speakers to a gathering except the Khorns. I don't want to load them up in the Trooper the way I brought them home from Naples. Speaker compliment: Home theater '87 Cornwalls '87 Forte' II '93 Academy Bedroom '97 CF-1 '70something Hersey '01 KLF-C7 Daughters room '87 KG4 2 channel rig '69 Klipschorns I could also bring my Scott 299C.
  6. A KLF10 is not a Forte. That serial number is in the correct format for a KLF10. Look under the Klipsch home page under classics(at least they use to be under classics) for the Legend Series. A KLF10 is a very nice speaker as are the KLF20 and 30's, but it's not in the same league (IMO) as the Forte's. The 20's and 30's are a different story. I think they will hold their own against Forte's or even a Chorus.
  7. I'm betting that dweeb will finally have a date....with a girl....and not his mother!! Well, at least until his 2.5 mil runs out !
  8. For that same $150, you can find a nice pair of KG4's that would blow away (IMO) the KSF's. I recently found a pair of CF1's for $150 that I am thoroughly impressed with. I think I like them more than my Heresy's. The key is patience and the speakers will come. Good luck.
  9. Thanks for the heads up. I will contact the seller today.
  10. I had an m1.5t and it was almost unlistenable with my LaScala's. I found a much better match with the TFM35x. I used the same pre for both amps and both amps were been rebuilt and had 100+ hours on them after the rebuild. The 1.5's powered a pair of Logans and a pair of Polks with great results, but when attached to the Klipsch, it wasn't such a nice combo.
  11. The 1070 will have the DVI output. I'm not sure about the B&K or if that's something you need right now. I own a B&K Ref30 and love it, but I really don't need DVI.
  12. I know the dealers down here have a 60 day trial period. Maybe find one with the RF's in your neighborhood and see which one's you like better.
  13. I have to disagree with the assessment of Onkyo. I have an M508 amp and P308 pre and love the sound through my Khorns. I have had LaScala's in the past but I never had them connected with the Onkyo Integra gear.
  14. But is the Icon twice as good as the DX-2? I know it's not a lot of money, but I'm a "best bang for the buck" type of guy. I currently have a Sony C79ES that I bought from a forum member which I really like, but I can spend $150 easy enough to test the difference. $300, on the other hand, then my "Rib Fest" weekend is shot!
  15. I don't think the company is in business anymore. Don't know if that really matters though since warranty isn't an issue. I thought $150 was good but reading some old reviews, they were going for $300 or less new toward the end of the company.
  16. I have a chance to pick up a DX-2 for around $150. It's in good shape and has the remote. Is this a good price for this unit?
  17. I paid $800 and had to refinish mine. I actually only had to refinish the tops since they were used as plant stands, but I figured as long as I was doing the tops, I might as well do the rest. I sold them to a friend and still visit often. I think $1000 is about average for a really nice pair. If they are nearby, that would be a bonus.
  18. I have always loved the sound of the KLF30's. Had them for several years before selling to a board member. The Las are in a different league. I really don't have too much to add to what has aready been said, but the Las will leave you with a permanent smile. I have had the Las in a room roughly 12X18 and they image just fine. Would still have them had it not been for the Khorns I have now.
  19. That bike sure brings back memories. I actually had one called the "Pea Picker" that was 5 speed and also one of the 1st full suspension bikes. It had a small wheel on the front too. Ahhh, the memories.

The 7's with Dean's mods may do the trick though.

How did you watch the DVD....It's not scheduled for release until Jan.5 2005? ---------------- Yes indeed. I'm curious as well. ---------------- My guess is that release dates "Down Under" are different than here in the states.
  22. Bill, I'm not sure Fortes to RF5's would be a trade up. Maybe(?) the 7's but not the 5's. Either case, Forte's or RF5's, you would need bucking magnets to stop the interference. Keep the Forte's and glue some bucking magnets to the woofer. I'm really not sure where to get the magnets but I'm sure someone will chime in on this.
  23. Anyone in the Lone Star State or close to Arlington may want to check out e-bay item # 5727089528. Looks like a pair of excellent condition '85's with a BIN of $850!! Good deal if you're close.
  24. Darn Bill!! 2 pair Forte's, KG4's. Now a pair of Chorus? You're starting to do business like me.
  25. My best guess is that they are KEF speakers and not Klipsch(where's the horn?). Check out e-bay item #5724249186. Those are the C5 and I would guess the ones you are looking at are one step above that.
