  1. Glad I'm not going deaf, thanks for bringing this subject up. I too have the same issues with movies, thought it was my equipments fault, but let's think about this; As DVD sales and rentals climb, is it possible that the quality of the product is slipping down? The same thing happened with Vinyl LP's, as sales went up, quality went down. The more they sold, the more imperfections, (warped disc, skips on the first play, etc.) they tried to slip through to the consumer. The higher the price, the worse they became. Dvd's that I got when they first started selling are fine, it's just the ones that are selling lately I have a problem with. Never have trouble with concert dvd's, only movies. Just a thought
  2. tAnything but Onkyo. Panasonic, Sony, I think they have a Samsung 5.1 that could be had in that price range. It depends on what HE likes best, I just think there are better choices in that range than Onkyo.
  3. Awesome collection, really love fretless bass, they have their own sound. I do not play any type of guitar, but over the years of listening you do develop an ear for the sounds of guitars. You know a Gibson when you hear one, as true with Fender, same with a Rick.,they have their own sound.I was never a big Dylan fan, still not, but thank god he went electric and changed the course of music forever. The Electric Guitar is the instrument of Rock n' Roll!!!! Nice collection, be proud, I know you are. Long Live Rock!! Is that a Stones album on the floor by the Fender Bass? (Good man)
  4. My first set of Klipsch KG4's I bought 12 years ago. Still have them, will always keep them.New H2's coming right up.
  5. WHAT'S GOING ON; MARVIN GAYE; What happens when Soul music gets a touch of protest. This piece of work is as fresh today, as it was during the Viet-Nam era. A beautiful piece of work from a gifted singer and perfomer who left us way before his time. I very rarely use the word beautiful in describing a disc, but I must in this case. Mind you classic rock is my area, but every now and then one needs a break, and this disc is like a breath of fresh air.Smooth, Sexy, and Soulful, what more can I say?
  6. Hey greg, glad you liked it. I had my doubts about what I would see on the disc, but these old dogs still bite. Ginger Baker, he doesn't even look like he's hardly moving, but he is right on. Still can make the snare drums snap, and the bass drum pound. One of the great drummers in rock. Jack Bruce, still a top notch bassist, with a good voice. Bruce and Baker set the pace, and EC brings it on home. There is nothing that I can say about Clapton that hasn't been said twice already, on guitar, Mr. Eric Clapton. Cream, the ultimate power trio bathed in the blues. No pretenders here. Of all the so-called reunions this was worth the 30 year wait. The lads did look a little aged, but aren't we all? That's what happens, puppies become old dogs.
  7. One question, where did that picture of my wife come from?
  8. Real nice bikini!! Violin looks alittle hollow though!
  9. It's DRIBBLE: by the way Hunter S. Thompson passed away awhile ago, and I really don't want to be on your cloud. Call me some more names if that's what you need to do, your response speaks for it's self.
  10. What you paid is your business, and I didn't ask for prices. No, I'm not happy! I can look you in the eye and say, "I'm not Cheap". If it's on E-bay and the bid is $300.,I bid $350, and so do you. Who do you think your kidding, come on Guy.Why didn't you pay more than you did; WHY because you didn't have to.NO ONE wants to pay more than they have to. If I had $7250. to spend on speakers I'd buy NEW. Your a lucky guy to own all that great stuff, and look what you did pay, so why get pissed at me? Did I try to buy your equipment to cheap,NO. Did I degrade your set-up,NO. Trying to get the best deal is not cheap, getting Khorns for $1000. is lucky. It's up to the SELLER what price they take in the end, not you. Relax, and keep your speakers, and realise how lucky you are to own such great stuff.
  11. KRITON; My response was a general overview of all I have read on this post;DRIBBLE. It was not intended for you personally, calm down. Not everyone likes the same thing, and speakers are no different. I would not buy anything but Klipsch. MY CHOICE, MY MONEY. They are alot of more knowledgable people than me that don't like Klipsch, for whatever reason, and that's a CHOICE they make. Just because I present another view doesn't mean I'm wrong. I feel the MUSIC is more important than what speakers I have, or don't have.Get a Grip Dude!! PS: Wipe off your chin!
  12. My friend in Vermont; the adress you gave me for Audioclassics was great, and I thank you for it, BUT why must you call people cheap? I asked you before,"Did you pay full price for all your fine equipment?" It's easy for you to call people cheap, you already own all those fine speakers. What about the guy trying to purchase that stuff today? If I'm bidding on La Scala's and the starting bid is low, I bid low, what is wrong with that? If you want $2,000 for them, start the bid at $2,000. If I bid $1000. and win, I don't think I'm cheap, lucky, not cheap. E-bay is about the SELLER not the buyer. Why would anyone want to pay more than they have to for anything? Give me a break!!
  13. Somebody help me here; What is the point to all of this dribble? My speakers are bigger than your speakers? My speakers are better than his speakers? Isn't about the Music, or soundtracks, that we use our speakers,( no matter the brand or size), to reproduce for our enjoyment? It stands to reason that we like our Klipsch brand, it is a Klipsch Forum. Isn't great that we have CHOICES, choices in what we buy, what we listen to, and what we watch. Different people are into different things, doesn't make them wrong. Enjoy what you have, and let the other person enjoy what they have, and let's all enjoy the music together, that's what it is all about.
  14. Well put; "I know what I like, but I just don't know"
  15. They certainly look like Klipsch's, but on the same token, todays cars basically all look the same. You would think he could've made them with different wood so they don't look the same as K-horns. If you want Klipsch, buy Klipsch. I don't think clones are against the law, just look at muscle cars, 1/4 of them are clones, and they sell. Don't buy those speakers, that is the best thing to do. Yeh, that's what is so bogus about this listing.... For this kind of money, one could buy fabulous Khorns. This guy is trying to pass off something that is either a clone, or a rank and file Khorn as something worthy of a premium price. I believe that is what all this energy is about. It is a near insult to people who know genuine Klipsch and the Klipsch market. Of course I should offer a disclaimer: I did in fact ride into town on the turnip truck... But not yesterday. If you want Klipsch buy Klipsch; what is the problem? He is not fooling Klipsch owners, is he? Who wouldn't want to own a set of Khorns, real Khorns? They certainly look like Khorns, but are they Khorns? The best recourse is to NOT buy, or even bid on them. NO Sales puts him out of business, and problem solved.
  16. I know.... Also I live in New Jersey but I can see it from my window and worked there and commuted there on a regular basis. My brother lives there as an analyst. NY has been in my life every since I thought the point of the thread was about helping people, and you make a comment about jaded people in NYC not caring about what is going on. I did not see jaded people when 911 happened, what I saw was people helping other people. Gee, I guess that,s not what I saw. If helping one another is wrong, I'm sorry.

  18. Good call, never thought of that. I thought they were replacements, non- Klipsch, pictures aren't that good.
  19. Exactly!!! Did any of you put this much effort in Helping Katrina people who lost everything they had? Doubt it. The best and only thing you can do; DON'T BUY THEM!!
  20. What kinda comment is that? Have you forgotten 911, We were ALL New Yorkers on that day? I guess Who is the Best Guitarist on Klipsch speakers is alittle more important than helping out people in need. Not everyone is well off like some of us, and could use a hand. Remember, that in the end, we are all the same, no matter where you live, what you do, what you think, and to help people is the right thing to do. The "S" doesn,t stand for sucker; it stands for SUPER. huh? anyways I meant to say that not alot of things impress new yorkers just look at all the advertisement in manhattan to sell crap If I took your comment wrong, I'm sorry. New York City is the greatest city in the world, bar none. The only thing that really matters is people helping people and 911 is a great example. I don't think people were jaded on that day, we were all confused, and scared, not jaded. Every american on that day was a New Yorker, so temper your words about New Yorkers, they do care, no matter where in the state we live. As far as advertisement goes, it's not the same in LA, Chicago, or Boston, of course it is. The real point is People helping People, that's what's important. Like I said;"S stands for Super, not sucker.

  23. I have been shopping for speakers,(fortes, heresys) and have found the fortes to be alittle overpowering in the mid range. This is with all settings at 0db flat. I have owned 2 ways for so long, I find 3ways to be louder in the mids, but I'm told that's normal with Klipsch because the horns.Wouldn't turning up your bass control a notch or two balance the sound without having to buy a Sub? I believe you have enough power already, and there are a couple of free things you can do to better your sound, speaker placement, a few adjustments, and advice from the forum should (could) be enough. If all else fails you could then buy a Sub.
  24. Welcome back Jim. I was gone for awhile too, came back under another name. Still alot of nice people here(Jacksonbart, and others) and I also find some border line snobs, that no matter what your opinion is, what equipment you listen to, or who you listen to, your always wrong, and they know best. I shouldn''t lump everyone together like that, but that's how I feel. I guess in the end, the good folks win out, and let the snobs think they are always right. Hopefully you'll jump in and enjoy yourself again, Welcome Back.
