  1. Right on about Aerosmith; Rocks!! The music they do now is no where near as good as that, to many mushy ballads, not enough dirt. Now my choice, DELBERT McCLINTON; Cost of Living!!! Why doesn't anyone ever mention this guy? Good song writer, Great voice, and backed up by a GREAT band. His songs are about real life and some of the roadblocks we find on the road of life. Delbert has been at it for over thirty years, and is better now than ever. Earlier in the month I wrote about, Delbert McClinton Live, a fine, fine recording.I know some people don't like LIVE recordings,(I do) so give this studio disc a listen, you won't be sorry. This guy covers it all, Rock, Blues, Honky Tonk, Country,Soul, and he does it Damn Good. This guy is an American treasure, and in my humble opinion, OVERLOOKED!!!
  2. I think they are pricey, but the factory refurbished(?) them, so that should be worth extra. $420.start bid+$110. shipping=$530.+tax just to start the bidding. Atleast you know where they are coming from, and Klipsch will stand behind them. I thought there was only one set, but there is another set up for bid already. Why no buy now price from Klipsch? Why don't they just sell them outright instead of E-spay? Why is a set of speakers returned, and for what repair? What about the left over, brand NEW heresy2's that didn't sell, where are they, and how much for those? I guess it comes down to;You either want them or You don't. Sometimes I think I should just spend the money, and buy new, nevermind buying this old, I mean, vintage stuff.
  3. NO Ipud's; they do have a place, but not replacing your cd player. They do not sound as good or better than a cd. When they first appeared they were sold as,"good as cd", now I see that they are,"cd LIKE sound". If you are just starting a music collection, and have no music, or equipment, that might be your answer. If you travel and want to take your music with you, they're great. What the hay, hook up your cd player, and buy the Ipod too. You never have enough music!!!!
  4. Spinner, I'm glad to see you are coming around to Esteban. Did I wear U down, or did you have a vision? When I come down this summer, I could bring my Esteban video with me. Bet it sounds great on your equipment. OOOPS, I forgot, you are Esteban, oh great one.
  5. Klipsch has been in business a long time without everyone's help of how they should be marketing their speakers. I agree that the best sales people are happy customers, with pride in the equipment they own. The idea of opening up my home and letting some unknown in to hear my speakers scares me. This is not good, what happens when you go away and come home to NO equipment? Don't tell me that can't happen. I realise the price is high, but what isn't? Who would have thought 20 years ago a car would cost $20,000. and a gallon of gas would be close to $3.00 per gallon? Klipschorns, and Lascalas could be bought new, and you would never have to purchase a speaker again. I would LOVE a new set of either speaker, but I cannot afford to a this point in time. There are LESSER speakers out there for more money, and they seem to sell. If Quality is what you want, pay the price, and enjoy the Klipsch. If you think you can do better than Klipsch, buy a franchise, and sell them your way.
  6. Does a Porsche cost more than a Chevy? Of Course it does. I don't think Best Buy will ever sell Heritage Series, and that is good. I cannot go out and buy new Lascala's either,(my wife would kill me as I sleep) but someday maybe a used set is possible. Would you want Klipsch to lower the standards to lower the price? NO, that's is why you buy them. I hate to say this, but "Quality costs", and Klipsch is no different. As far as showroom size, Klipsch fans don't need a showroom, they know what they want before they get there. Isn't the showroom really your EARS, and if the speakers look great that is a plus too.
  7. Sometimes you have to acquire a taste for things. Early on, I never cared much about Floyd, then one night a local college underground type station debuted "Dark Side", and it was good.Unbelievable is a better word, what sound, what music, and who is that on guitar? I am not a fan of everything they have done, but I do like David Gilmour. A great guitarist in his own right, a FenderBender. "Wish you were Here", is also good,as is "Animals". I like Dave better than Sid, just my opinion, let's not start a thread on how's better. For me,"Echoes" is a perfect choice, a great blend of styles mixed in a double cd. All I can he really say,"If you don't have Dark Side, You DON'T have a complete Rock collection of Music".I don't feel Dark Side was overplayed, it might be UNDERAPPRECIATED in some circles. "Let me warm my bones by the fire!"
  8. That might be something I would enjoy. you serious, or just pulling old Bucky,s leg?
  9. Actually, that's one of the beauties of an online auction. Ebay will bid on your behalf in increments. That's for your benefit. If someone's high bid is $200 and yours is $300, Ebay will only make you pay $205. The other bidder has no idea what your high bid is. Ebay would be glad to do it your way as they would make tons more money and you would be paying tons more. I don't think you want that. If I bid the $300. display that bid so the next bidder knows that is my bid. Why go to 205, and let other people bid thinking they can get it for less than the $300. It becomes a bidding war for no reason . How did we as people survive all those years without E-bay? I personally do not like the whole system, hidden charges, false promises, and a bunch of scam artists selling sometimes not good product. I will excerise my right NOT to use the service. I guess if I need Klipsch product I will use the forum to seek it out. There seems to be some very knowledgable people on this net. Time for more important stuff than E-bay dribble!!!
  10. Can't remember everything, but I do remember Focus! You know southern New York is not far away from here!!
  11. I,ve been looking at those;BEWARE; the 12" radiator has been replaced with a 15" yamaha speaker, and it's powered. I shit you not! Bring it up on your screen and look. Believe me I have been watching that New England area for Klipsch Speakers, I wouldn't touch those babies. Back of speaker cut so speaker would fit.
  12. I,ve been looking at those;BEWARE; the 12" radiator has been replaced with a 15" yamaha speaker, and it's powered. I kid you not! Bring it up on your screen and look. Believe me I have been watching that New England area for Klipsch Speakers, I wouldn't touch those babies. Back of speaker cut so speaker would fit.
  13. If $225. is bid on something, and you wanted $500.,I offer you $500, What does it show, $235. instead of going to $500. Just causing people to keep bidding knowing $500. has been bid. I realise that you want to make the most you can. If you want $500. ask that price, people either want it or they don't. Don't tease people with phony bids. Why should I have to wait untill the end to make my bid? E-Bay does nothing but run up the price for the average person. They are no better than Barret-Jackson running up the price of cars on TV. What's next, the E-Bay network?
  14. Just another way to make more money off people. Why is it ,when an item is bid on, let's say it's $200, for a set of speakers, and I bid $300, the next bid should be $310, it will show $210 as high bid? I am willing to pay $300, but they do the bid thing , wasting time, and building up someones hopes of winning, knowing $300 has already been bid. Of course if I could get them for less I would, but I would also pay the $300 and get on with it. Just seems like a waste of time. Like the RESERVE price, start the bids at that price, not wait and see how much more you can get, and if it's not enough cancel the auction.
  15. These are only available directly from us in this auction. Thanks! GOD I hate E-bay, always teasing you for higher bids. I understand that is free enterprise but why can't you just post your price for something? You either pay the price that's asked or you don't. I know you couldn't buy those Heresy 2's for the starting bid, but if (for example only) you want say $800. ask that price, they will sell and you know it. Just venting, wanted those speakers, and didn't want to get in a bidding war.
  16. I just got the Panasonic EDTV myself, nice set. Really looks good watching DVD's. This unit is now under $2000. and BJ's warehouse just had them for $1699. that's a sweet price. They are so thin and you don't need an army of friends to move it around. I like mine, what I wanted for the price I didn't mind paying. Concert DVD's sure look good on it. Enjoy yours!!
  17. How about a Sony D1011 receiver, 120wX2, $125.00 obo.Like brand new. Just a thought, good luck!
  18. Boy you guys kill me. Most of you LUCKY people have thousands of dollars invested in Klipsch speakers, tons of wattage with many classic amps, and low and behold, you quibble about a couple of hundred dollars for a DVD player; What's up with that? Isn't a Dvd player needed today to watch movies, unless you have VHS? DVD looks better, and damn sure sounds bettter, and easier to use than tapes. If your into concert/music VHS, I have a bunch (like brand new), I'd give someone a great deal on, they are perfect. Spent way too much on VHS tapes, but, at the time , Dolby Surround was King, then came DVD, 5.1, and the rest is history. KLIPSCH remains King, that will never change.
  19. The problem with Sony's low end is that most of it is rebadged. Sony doesn't even touch it. Their reputation has always been for rugged, well built TV's. They parlayed that into a whole world of crap electronics, junk speakers, and mucho other garbage that wore their brand but was built in their factories... I do not believe what you state about the lower end items; although I would not own any speakers other than Klipsch. I have ES grade components, and they are not lower end equipment. If my memory serves me well, Sony was considered high end products. Then the Best Buys, and Walmarts came along and Sony started selling inexpensive lines of stereo product to average listener who has no idea what a Klipsch Speaker is. Every electronics company has inexpensive consumer lines. If you even think of owning Sansui, Pioneer, even Marantz, Sony is a good. Trust me, they are not Mac, Carver, or Scott, but they hold their own. It only matters how they sound to the person who owns them.
  20. Doesn't anyone like SONY equipment anymore? I realize that the lower end stuff is not up to par with their higher end products, but it is good product. Dvd players have improved alot over the past couple of years. I own a NS775V Sony, it plays everything, including burned discs without a problem. 5.1 sounds great also, and under your $300, so you can go buy some dvd's and enjoy.
  21. I would rather have a cd player for cd's, and a dvd player for my discs.Unless you want to listen to music in 5.1. When listening to cd's, I find I like them in 2channel the way they were recorded. The only advantage to buying inexpensive cd, or dvd players, is they play burned copies without much trouble. Where I find the better grades won't play burners as well.
  22. yer wrong there, Bucky ......[] There you go again calling me Bucky. Didn't I write you about that before? One song; "Hocus Pocus", one albumn, not a very long career. Your right, they weren't Tull rip-offs; They weren't good enough to rip-off TULL!!! Why the fighting? Can't we all just Bungle in the Jungle? [] "That would be alright by me"!!!
