  1. Looks great!!! Like the others said, at the very least angle your center speaker downward if it's going to be that high up. Aim direcly down towards your primary seating position. enjoy...
  2. This is the screensaver you end up with when you buy a new computer and car at the same time.......... Back in Black!!
  3. You'll be fine..... the 64 is a step up from the 82's...but that's OK. You'll love it!! Don't sweat replacing the surrounds yet...... All in time!! ...take one step at a time. For now, you're taking 2 big steps!! The 82's and 64.....big upgrade...
  4. probably not.....your center may roll off and you'll lose some low frequencies....it it won't hurt the speaker.
  5. definitely in the ballpark........... You may be able to save 1-200 if you get anal and scour the planet for a better deal. IMO....go for it. The offer you have is a reasonable value...why not?
  6. "loudness" shouldn't be an issue....... I think it has more to do with how you set your system up..... room layout and room acoustics.
  7. Yes.....been there done that with my father back in the day!! Do a few extra errands around the house...it'll be worth it. My dad talked me into spending extra for a pair of speakers back in 1985, and I still own and use them regularly!! They've since been demoted to garage duty......but they still rock!! Haha
  8. In your budget range, choose an all purpose receiver that fits your needs. my 2 cents.... To experience a true gain from separates, you'll need to spend a lot more than your current budget.
  9. Your profile states you have RF83's? Ok..now I am confused..... I wouldn't bother upgrading from the RF62 to 82.....If you're going to upgrade, either the 63-83 is the ticket. my 2 cents...
  10. You have a SVS sub that is not powered? Do they make that?
  11. Maybe it's a little off topic, but how about HT stories to the night skies????? Toys resting in the garage...... These are my two "Night Sky" home theater enablers......to enjoy "widescreen" panaramas of the cosmos...Unfortunatley...no surround sound is included, but a small portable radio outside works pretty well. HEH. BELOW:: Toys in action......far away from city lights....... Any astro fans out there??...just maybe?? LOL sound off!!
  12. If you're planning on watching any TV on that screen, you'll want a 16:9....my 2 cents....
  13. Oh noooo , I had those same CV's , those things rocked ! Bought them in late 1985 when I still lived with my parents . They survived 4 moves locally and then I took them across country to Phx , Az. . For what I paid for them they where great . When it came time to move back after school they helped finance the trip . Put them in the paper for $300. and they sold the first day . Kinda bittersweet but no room in the car for them on the trip . Then I switched to the darkside and bought Klipsch . I can relate.........the only difference is that I never sold mine!! I bought mine in '85 too[H] How dare you sell such a thing!! Hahah.... These speakers still bring me a lot of pleasure while serving garage duty!! The CV's were always powered by a classic mid-80's Pioneer VSX-9500S. Good'ol 2'channel power I always thought!!!.....I've recently been experiencing shorting problems in the left channel so I replaced my loving good old '80's Pioneer friend with a relatively modern Yamaha RX-V2500. All I have to say is WOW....NEW does pretty darned good with these old speakers........ I couldn't be happier. I just completed some spring garage cleaning this past weekend and this picture was taken while the floor was still wet... long live the CV's!!....LOL PS..is there a simple way to downsize pictures?? The entire right side of the above picture is cropped because the file is too big...sheeeesh...
  14. Haha...the old CV D-9's are a hoot and I will probably own them until I die. They survived many-a-keg pary back in the day. Replace the foam surrounds every 15yrs or so, and the speakers work as good/bad as new. As bad as they are in so many ways, I feel a strange attachment to them. IE.......like the attachment 60's car owners have with their cars..... If ya know what I mean... As for the black dog....I had her put to sleep. Sad but true...she took a bite out of my sons leg and she was done.
  15. LOL...I just watched this 2 weeks ago.... Ninja movies are making a strong comeback......LOL Ninja Assassin is in my queue....have not seen it yet, but I will in due time.[8-|]
  16. DVR's are great because you can reverse/pause live action......to take pictures of your kid posing in front of key game winning TD-runs....LOL Go Bucks!! LOL
  17. How about some dopey garage system pictures???? 25yr old party speakers, anyone??? As viewed from a different angle at a different point in time.....while cleaning. LOL (a more recent pic) ......this is my garage system [] Go bucks!!...great for rocking the 'rage'....just sayin' HEH
  18. I quit cable and went to DTV 10+yrs ago and nevr looked back. Cable TV was always a pain in the butt....IMO.
  19. yes...I want to see pictures because pictures are fun[] I wouldn't be too concerned over the directional/or not...thing. It depends on the room and the number of seats. If your HT has several rows of seating that's one thing, but in most situations, providing you can aim the speakers towards the primary seating, it's all good. IE..if you have the RB81's in the back and they are high up.....you'll just want to make sure you mount them aiming downward.
  20. video/audio quality aside...I was disappointed in this movie. my 2 cents
  21. I just have 1 thing to say............. "You suck".....and I mean this in an effectionate kind of way....LOL Nice purchase!!!!!! I am familiar with this sub (my retired senior citizen dad ownes one) ....LOL. He can't even let it to 'do it's thing' because my mother has tons of collectible-breakables on shelves/hanging on the walls. The first time I tested the Ultra13 good was during a family Christmas visit. (unfortunately, I live 750miles away) We were watching "Transformers"...and I coaxed my dad to push it......we got to an early movie scene when the robot helecopter was destroying the desert military base when one of my mothers collector plates hanging on the wall smashed onto a buffet cabinet................BWAhahahahaha....wooops.....and we thought the noise was a realistic surround-sound gunshot!!!! We were thinking...wow...great surround effects!! Funny stuff.... it smashed to bits all over the place. My mom even took it in stride.(amazingly) My dad had just purchased ALL-new Klipsch speakers (thanks to me) and added the Ultra13 sub for good measure. What amazes me is that I recommended a lesser SVS sub knowing his living situation with all my mothers breakables and all....and he decided on the ULTRA13 on his own!!!! LOL [8-|] PS...my dads most recent previous HT-system was one of those Bose Cube systems.....HORRIBLE!! Back in the day when I was growing up..... my dad owned some pretty nice audio gear, and I was shocked when he bought that piece of sh!t Bose cube-Sh!t in his old age. He caught on fast....he knew what he got was inferior....a big terd. He knew it.... With my help, it's all good now. He is back!!!.........and owns a very nice HT-system...especially for an old retired/senior citizen guy...LOL

    SVS Alert

A good deal.....providing it's in new working condition. That's the big iff.... Providing the sub is in new condition, it performs BIG even by todays standards. I think mine retailed new at $1199. ........ plus $100 shipping and the cost of the cable, I paid about $1350 five years ago. Even at $1350, it was a great sub for theprice...and that was 5yrs ago!! my 2 cents... PS...I do smell some BS in the sales add..... and that worries me. 1. The PB12-plus2 never retailed at $1400.... 2. It doesn't weigh 165lbs......it weighs 140lbs....just saying.....
  23. 12G is better wire.....there no reason to downgrade.
