i hear you. I’ve been lectured for making a joke when the poster was serious. I was lectured for joking outside of the “lounge.” There were other comments that i won’t mention publicly; but, i told you about them in a PM shortly after Boxx’s passing. I purposely stay away for a while at times. I just returned on Saturday, after a two week hiatus -- done that a few times. Went two months once. Reminds me of when i go back to my old neighborhood and now the houses are trashed and have bullet holes in them. I remember the way it was; but, can’t ignore the way it is now. But as the saying goes, “The beatings will continue until morale improves."

I’m not defending Chad’s decision to initiate the change (which i didn’t like at all) nor his attitude (which i didn’t care for either) … I just think ratting someone out is worse. This forum is entertainment for us -- it’s Chad’s job; and i’m against messing with a man’s career over something silly like this. Where I will defend Chad is that he asked for time -- whoever emailed his boss wasn’t even willing to give the man that. (apparently … as it sounds like it wasn’t a complimentary email, so i’m guessing it was a complaint). I generally come down on the side of the members and did so earlier in this thread, and i find the camaraderie more important, more enjoyable than the tech talk. But, we have to keep in mind that, like it or not, this forum doesn’t belong to the members. We’re like visitors, free to come and go as we please. I will admit, I’ve been moving closer to the door for a couple of months and no matter what finally makes me decide to say goodbye to this place--I’ll just go quietly.

Three weeks ago, i drove to NoCal to attend a funeral. Fueled up here in SoCal …use premium and it was $2.49 a gallon. Same gas station now -- $3.26. those low prices didn’t last long.

i think you’re right … if it weren’t for the Lounge topics, i’d have left this place after i got my first question answered. Just because it’s an audio forum, doesn’t mean i want to talk audio all the time. I’ve talked sports with the food servers at the local eatery; told jokes with my doctor during an exam -- I realize that Chad isn't removing the lounge section -- i just don’t think it was a problem to begin with. If people are congregating in the Lounge -- there’s a reason for it, and the people that make up this community should matter more than what we talk about -- and we’re still the cheapest advertising around.
