I heard one of the scientists on the radio talking about this. She sounded like a bozo. She referred to the recent storm as an “atmospheric river” saying “we’re lucky it only lasted seven days—what if it rained for a month.” I tried to apply her thinking to another tragic event that hit southern California this past weekend. I got up from my chair and bumped the tv tray. My 44oz diet coke fell to the ground and the lid popped off, spilling the contents onto the carpet. I thought of that scientist and wondered, “I’m lucky this was just 44 ounces of soda—what if soda never stopped coming out of the cup? What a disaster that would be…I turned down the diet coke spillage option on my homeowners insurance.

Ben, sorry to hear there's sickness going round your house. I came down with a sore throat myself. I must be wearing down--i went seven years without a cold, now this is the third one in the past three years. funny how i stopped drinking booze, lost about 40 pounds, take all my medicine, and talk evening walks--and i start getting sick more often! Go figure.

you haven't given sufficient information to answer the question. What color is the plane and is it night or day?

although the concept seems cool, i can't stop thinking about the undercooked chicken that i ate for lunch yesterday. not paying attention and eating very fast, i was almost done before i noticed that it needed several more minutes on the grill. this was from a food court at the mall by my office. if i was in a dark theatre, i would have ended up eating the rest. i guess my concern is more directed at the skill of the cooks and my inability to examine the food before i eat it (which i obviously don't do so good anyway).

am i missing something? are you saying that palin created or posted something of "poor taste" on her website in response to this shooting?

Fini--you bay area folks sure do eat well. Oh how I sometimes miss that place (although I'm from the East Bay) eating in SF gave me speed i needed to outrun the bullets in Oakland.
