  1. thanks--you can have first dibs; but, they're going to the person that has second dibs--my brother. but, please don't take your well wishes back.
  2. i think james gave you good advice. i was just going to simplify it and say somewhere behind you and high enough off the ground so you don't trip over them. by the way, welcome aboard, and not sure what your screen name means; but, it's cool.
  3. Yikes Ben, that's a late workday! Thank God those days are behind me; but, I spent many a long day & night at work back in my military days. Right after 9-11 we went to a 12 on, 12 off work schedule. Being the only enlisted man in a department of officers--guess who got the 2000-0800 shift? my eating them late meals are a thing of past for me--geez, i'm sounding old. Now I really wish had a ginger ale on hand--sure sounds good. I'm finishing up a big gulp diet coke that i bought at dinner. have a good night friends. Steve
  4. all i can say is that if i saw those prints, i'd immediately start doing The Safety Dance.
  5. a guy that i've met a few times (grew up in the same town)...Captain Beefheart and the Magic Band
  6. i've seen roger twice as well and both were excellent shows. Both times, he did the entire dark side of the moon set; at one show Nick Mason was there and played the drums. I would say the best "sounding" concert that I've ever seen. If you like Pink Floyd albums, you'll love his concert because it sounds almost identical to an album. technically perfect performance (some don't like that; but, i do). Both times I saw him were at the Hollywood Bowl. I totally encourage people to see his show. Ignore his political crap--which thankfully he kept to just the graffiti on the giant pig that was flying over the crowd. I'm very happy that he didn't go the route of some and waste our time spewing his views--he just went onstage and played good music very well. also, i'm a huge fan of snowy white and both years snowy was playing in roger's band. Bonus for me--the tour ends right down the road from my work. I'm definitely going to this one!
  7. Thanks FIni, I'm not too stressed about it. Had my pre-op doctor's appt yesterday. he asked if i had any questions and i told him "I'm planning on sleeping through it." He said, "that's what we're hoping for." He told me to take a couple of weeks off work; but, i told him that i didn't want to waste my vacation days sitting around recuperating and wanted to go back to work right away. So he said, "Fine. Surgery on Tuesday and you can go back to work Friday--just don't use your right arm at all." I figure i can sit home or I can sit at my desk at work and save my vacation day--and see how many free sodas i can get from sympathetic co-workers. i've already found a very attractive female that new to the office and told her that she was going to have to press the elevator button for me because they're operating on my good arm. she said she wouldn't mind that at all. hey, i'm single now. I can get as much mileage out of this injury as possible right. Hmmm, i guess i'll need help bathing too--better get to work on that one []
  8. I think you should call it...LORETTA. credit given to the monty python flying circus.
  9. he's still in training. they give you the van first, then you have to memorize the script.
  10. Oh I wish I had your problems. Enjoy your Spanish Red. I'm sipping on a very rare Super Big Gulp (2010) from 7 Eleven.
  11. yea--i finally did something good. But please Amy, call me Steve. Save the BigStewMan for the times you are giving me a formal reprimand.
  12. well, i'm sure you deserve the treat. but, i'm curious...when are they giving you the rest of the monitor and keyboard?
  13. Right on Phil. It gives his family a short break from the all that they've been going through.
  14. hard to see much detail in those pictures; but, i don't see any safety lines on those responders. And if you have an imagination like mine, it looks like the responders in yellow are pushing the vehicle towards the edge, which sure would suck for the guys in blue. geez, i watch way too much television.
  15. don't know where he was from; but, stevie ray vaughn had a great song called Texas Flood.
  16. I thought Thebes was the crazy one around here; but, you guys from Texas are starting to scare me. []
  17. thanks for the kind words guys. doc thinks it will go easy and the recovery too, since he thinks all he will have to do is remove some of the bone. MRI didn't reveal any tears; but, sometimes they don't show up on the MRI. He will check everything while he's in there and repair any tears. If it's strictly bone work, i will be in a sling (can't use arm) for one week and the second week can begin therapy. If he has to do anything else in there, the recovery will obviously be slower. i know the good Lord is with me, so I'm not too scared. Thanks Chuck for the offer; but, doesn't winchester use gunpowder as a sedative?
  18. I hope not--since his wife is Elin []
  19. Er, just what was that road that Providence has pointed America to? Without any context, that statement is so non-specific that it could be used to justify almost anything. I knew a girl named Providence--and she was known to point from time-to-time.
  20. Hi Ben--wasn't able to find any of that ginger ale you mentioned; but, in my search ran across something called Cock & Bull Ginger Beer. Wasn't too strong; but, not too bad either. kinda expensive though--$6 for a four-pack.
  21. It's official. April 27th I will get surgery. They kicked me out of physical therapy again, and the cortisone shot did absolutely nothing. Met with the doctor today, and he said that it was time to operate. I had mentally prepared myself for this (very first surgery); but, was caught off guard when he suggested next Tuesday or Thursday! Fortunately, the schedule with the hospital wouldn't allow until the end of April--so I have 20 days to learn how to be brave. of course, the first thing my boss said was, "oh no. how long will you be out?" I replied, "I guess I can ask the doctor to come here and do the surgery at my desk." ****Steve****
  22. well, since you've been so kind to me on the forum, i could go a bit out of my way--and would happily do so for you, if there are no closer forum members (if that's the case we need to advertise this forum more, the city of los angeles has millions of people--a few of them must have klipsch gear). I'm only 33 miles away; but, if i tried to go after work it would take me a couple of hours--each way. If you've ever been to Los Angeles, you'll know the rush hour traffic is horrific. But, i'm sure we can work something out. send me an email or PM and we'll discuss the details. ****Steve****
  23. Might as well live, since there is a rather costly death tax (upon your loved ones left behind).
  24. i'm a little late; but, congrats on the job Ace. Go get some KHorns to celebrate.
