  1. well, i'll bet that bubbles can do just as good of a job getting this economy back as track as the joker's that are pretending to be smart are doing now. anyone else beginning to feel that the wisest investment we can make today is at a blackjack table in vegas?
  2. My friend who moved from LA a couple years ago thinks it is funny how southerns like to get beer as cold as possible. In the summer it is slushie beer. Hell if it is 100 with 50% or higher humidity you need slushie beer.. Hey I'm in both of those posts...MD 20/20 got me through the winter of 1978 in Michigan, and I live in LA now (if you are talking about Los Angeles).
  3. Yes, I've checked it out numerous times. It is a fun read; but, I'm beginning to wonder if she has two hands or one hand and one camera attached to the end of her arm?
  4. I hope the folks at American Express aren't reading this thread--I'm not supposed to make my last payment to them until 2525, don't need them putting me on an expedited payment schedule.
  5. That was the best decade for Rock-N-Roll. if i live to be 100, there is enough good music from that era to keep me happy. although, i rarely listen to radio anymore for music; but, i've got a sudden urge to listen to Queen's Radio GaGa (ironically, not a 70s song).

    3 Doors Down

i'll have to check it out. relatively new to that band; but, really enjoy listening to them. i particularly like their acoustic stuff.
  7. very funny indeed. made me remember a sign that my doctor had in his office..."Living is hazardous to your health."
  8. I was hesitant to write that I'm drinking Iced Tea. I gave up drinking a few months ago--met an awesome woman that I really care about. Alcohol has brought a lot of pain in her life (Mother and brother alcoholics), she knew I drank beer and never asked me to stop; but, knowing how much pain she has lived with due to alcohol, it was a no-brainer to "retire" from drinking. Besides, I was having some stomach trouble that was seriously being aggrevated by the beer. But, I did my 20+ years of drinking, and should be in the Moosehead Hall of Fame--I'm sure that I've paid for their CEO's home from the beer that I bought over the years. So, I'm now toasting my forum brothers with an ice tea. Tomorrow, maybe a lemonade.
  9. I had to go to the mall this afternoon for some contact lens, then decide to walk off the half-pound Ostrich burger that I had eaten for lunch (Yummy. Sold at Fuddrucker's, if you have one near you). Anyway, I pass this art gallery and notice that the artist Michael Godard (Famous for the painting of Green Olives doing all kinds of things) was going to be there in a few minutes. I didn't have any plans, so I hung around. The guy is super cool and very friendly. I couldn't afford a painting; but, I bought a book, which he happily autographed. The people that did buy paintings...he did something very awesome. The paintings have a black background (with plenty of unused canvas) and he grabs his paint & brush and adds things to the painting, so that you have a one-of-a-kind, customized painting. One couple wanted their initials in some clouds--it was amazing to watch such a talented artist...he made it look so simple--which I know it isn't. Ironically, his "olive" paintings have an alcohol theme; but, he doesn't drink. He said, "I'm a guy that doesn't drink that paints pictures for alcoholics." I really had a good time watching him paint, and listening to his stories.
  10. yes, i saw it; but, not heard on klipsch. the movie was good, so i can imagine that it would sound good on my heresy ht setup. i'll have to give it a listen.
  11. i would have thought that the bank's fraud division would have been helpful. i'd definately be contacting either the police or D.A. right away. they also may be able to tell you about any possible things you can do to get your money back--i'm sure they have dealt with this kind of thing many times. if the banks are anything like insurance companies, they won't go out of their way to help you if it will mean they have to pay. maybe there is a forum member that is a bank employee and can provide some guidance. check with your military legal office. i had an issue when i was on active duty, and the coast guard legal office was more than happy to intervene on my behalf--best part, it was free legal representation. it really sucks what happened to you.
  12. ...and i thought the answer was rosie o'donnell.
  13. "but i don't want it to be over" says the man that is stuck in the 70s.
  14. mostly safari; but, I also have firefox which i use ocassionally.
  15. i was just notified that the current version of YES canceled their shows through February 24th citing "unspecified medical reasons." I had tickets to see them at the House of Blues in Anaheim, CA on Feb 22nd. Their set list looked AWESOME too! Siberian Khatru, Close to the Edge, Starship Trooper...this is very bad news.
  16. Now that's funny. i like that post gilbert...especially the last comment. obama's speech did fill me with hope--i HOPED that i had another bottle!
  17. I remember having to call my folks the morning of boot camp graduation and tell them don't bother coming--my first taste of military discipline from some hyjinx the night before awarded me an extra two weeks of basic training. 30 years ago; so I can laugh about it now--sure stung when it happened though. congrats to Adam and enjoy your career--i retired from the Coast Guard in 2003--it ain't a bad life! My only regret--i want my hair growing years back. i waited so long to be free to grow my hair long again, now that i have that chance, only the back wants to grow.
  18. You sure got that right! I'm enjoying that benefit myself.
  19. Congratulations, and here's hoping that this is just the beginning--may this job lead to a satisfying and lucurative career...and maybe more Klipsch under the Christmas Tree someday.
  20. Jeremy--you've probably heard the saying "Friends don't let Friends buy Bose," so I'm begging you after those cocktails PLEASE don't have your credit card anywhere near you while at your computer and have your internet filter block the Bose website--I don't want you doing anything drastic.
  21. i have a pair of Heresy I and a pair of Heresy II. I'm the original owner of the Heresy I, bought in 1983 and have done nothing to them at all. I've been thinking of getting the insides upgraded and am wondering if I can upgrade both models with the same type of crossovers, etc...? Also, what are the suggested upgrades?
  22. I've heard nothing but good things about Cornwalls. I have two sets of heresy's (I & II) and after reading many posts on this forum, i'm wishing that i had some Cornwalls.
  23. Michael, Again, sorry that you are losing such a dear friend. I'm just curious, how long have you known Dale and how did you become friends (if that isn't too personal)? Cancer has claimed my biological father (kidney at age 35) and adopted father (lung at age 45). You seem to have a tender heart and the ability to reflect on the positive ways your friends/family have impacted your life. There is no easy way to handle such loss; but, i hope that you are able to remind Dale's wife & children how special he was--they will undoubtedly need their spirits lifted from time to time. Very Respectfully, Steve
  24. Will do Michael. I hope if I'm ever in need like that, I will have a friend like you that will come to my side. You are a good friend, and I'm sure that Dale knows that. Your presence will undoubtedly bring comfort to both Dale and his family.
