  1. While you're reading press releases, read the one about Muzak. It tells you they will mainly use the IC and CA series of our speakers. PhilH
  2. Tony: Apparently yours and Trey's spouses are much more tolerant of large audio-related objects in the home than mine, otherwise I would be catching up to you! Phil
  3. Swampdonkey: Klipsch is supplying Quintet II's and KSW-10's for the new Samsung HT-SK6 HTIB system which is due to hit the market very soon. MSRP is $1199.00. PhilH
  4. Roger Waters, "In The Flesh" DD The Who, "Live at Royal Albert Hall" DD and DTS Eric Clapton, "One More Car, One More Rider" DD and DTS Roy Orbison, "Black and White Nights" DD and DTS All great concerts, all recorded well. PhilH
  5. As has been stated elsewhere in the Forum, the Heritage products continue on. Period. Just as everyone here realizes the differences between opinions and facts when it comes to subjects such as speaker wire or what is the best receiver to use for a given system, please realize the differences here. RefSeller is very passionate about his opinions, just like we all are about ours. But that is all they are...opinions. As much as he appears knowledgable about the situation, he has no more knowledge than most of you. He is passionate about what he does, which appears to be an anonymous audio video salesperson somewhere. If he chooses to bad mouth us, that is his right, but the bad mouthing is based on his or her opinions, and most of his attacks are not fact-based. Klipsch has repeatedly offered explanations for our major distribution changes and we stand behind them as do 100% of our Dealer/Partners Management Teams. If, in fact, RefSeller is continuing as an employee of a Klipsch Dealer, his views are not in line with the rest of his company. RefSeller, we are not trying to attack you personally but, again, your opinions are not based on the facts and we do not want anyone here to get the impression that they are. PhilH and JoshuaRyanHall
  6. I had the very fortunate experience of riding in an S8 on the Autobahn at around 150mph a few weeks ago. Geeeeeeeeezzzzzzzz, it felt like we were doing 70 or 80....smooth and stable, what a car!!! I bet if could even get my 96 SHO to 130, I'd be watching as things vibrated off and flew in different directions behind me! PhilH
  7. Schwa: You should be fine in getting the RS-3II's you want to match your present system. The new line will be out sometime this spring. PhilH
  8. mOOn: Remember though, 1 free refill if you get the $10.00 combo of popcorn and a drink. PhilH
  9. I have a tendency to visit my former workplace quite a bit, a locally based appliance/electronics retailer here in Indy. See what's new and chat with old friends. A few weeks ago, one of my friends at the store I visit told me that they can "pretty much set our watches by you...it's Saturday at 10AM and here comes Phil". I immediately thought of the many people like that over the years in retail I recall who came in all the time and never bought anything. Now I have an excuse to give my wife for buying something! 10. I think the question of "who here has bought a pair of home audio speakers from Best Buy?" not having any yes answers yet tends to support one of our points. Our forum is generally visited and supported by the truly passionate audio lovers. We love to debate solid state vs. tubes, speaker wire, horns vs. direct radiators, Klipsch vs. SVS, Reference vs. Legend vs. Heritage, and even an occassional political or other topic (like this one, for example!).... all those things that are a distinct and important part of our lives...our passions. This is a fantastic arena for debate and a source for a wealth of information for its many visitors. Many of you have probably noticed that moderators such as myself and BobG have not been here answering specific product, placement, etc. questions nearly as much as we used to. We have many here who can (and also love to) answer those questions very well themselves! With the wealth of knowledge most here have, coupled with their desire to make sure everyone has the best possible audio system set up in the best possible manner, we know those questions will be fully answered. Most of us here are all truly "fanatics"... and, at this point in our "audio influenced" lives we all try to buy our audio gear from, and many times even socialize with, people who have a similiar passion as we do. We are very, very "stepped-up". There are, of course, many others out there whose interest in audio is there, but not to the passionate degree of ours. Occassionally, a few of those people find their way here and everyone is more than welcome to answer any of their questions, along with passionately trying to make them members of our world. These people want to experience some of the emotion we experience from audio, but not necessarily at the level we do...at least not yet. I think most of us started enjoying audio this way. There have been several threads here over the years asking things like "What was your first audio system?" that produced some funny (to us now) stories of what we had and where it might have been bought. As stated by our COO in this thread and others, our ProMedia products at Best Buy have introduced many, many people to their first step-up audio experience, and many of those people have developed an interest in home audio from there. It may have been their first exposure to "audio". This stepping-up may never had occured without this initial exposure at a retailer whose environment they feel comfortable with. As enthusiasts today, our first exposure to the emotion of audio may have come from our father who was a "HiFi" enthusiast when we were kids (like what happened to me)or a friend who was an enthusiast or audio salesperson, or even a college frat party when we first heard LaScala's in the 60's and 70's. Interests and lifestyle choices are more numerous today. For example, many of the "enthusiast" fathers of the last ten or twenty years have exposed their children to one of the many more choices of interests there have been during that period, like computers, or the highly increased exposure to a myriad of different sports. As stated, times have changed just like they have done before.... PhilH
  11. ssstang: When I first set up my KLF-30's a few years back, I tried numerous positions both next to and away from my Mits 46" projection TV. None of the positions affected the picture. Doug is correct when he says you have to have large magnets, in general, closer to the bottom of a PJTV to begin to mess up the picture. Standard projection TV's actually have 3 CRT's (one for each primary color) and they are located inside the bottom of the cabinet firing up to a mirror. PhilH
  12. ssstang: My KLF-30's are also far away from any walls on either side, like Minn Male42's, and my imaging is good center-seated or off to either side. And even without side wall reflections, a slight toe-in or out by as little as an inch or less on either the FL or FR speaker made an amazing change in that imaging. It took some experimenting to find the right setup for me also. I would advise that if you have the space, try working with them farther away from the side walls. PhilH
  13. mOOn (and prodj): That's cool. Hey, I was once an over-emotional 14 year old. Now I'm an over-emotional 46 year old. I was just trying to help prodj (with some sarcasm) see just how silly I thought his statement was, once he thought about it again. Hey, I can be stubborn too...there is a certain car dealer here in Indy that I refuse to go to because of something that happened to me 25 years ago there. Think I inherited a hard head from my Dad. We all need to vent, and I understand. Prodj, just don't do anything rash to those RF-5's before you think about it. And if you don't want them anymore, sell them to someone who appreciates them. PhilH
  14. prodj101: You have posted your above feelings in a few threads now. I understand buying image for many people (including yourself) is also important. Again, we will have our Synergy line only at Best Buy. Reference will be only in A/V Specialty stores. What I don't quite understand is that, all of a sudden, you do not like your Reference RF-5's because our Synergy speakers will be sold at Best Buy. When exactly did you stop liking your Sony, Phillips, Yamaha and Pioneer products you display in your signature as owning? These manufacturers also have different lines at Best Buy, some for quite a while. PhilH
  15. A 1977 JVC KD-95J cassette deck. JVC's first front load model. About a 20 lb. beast. Big ol' VU Meters with "brand new" Peak Level LED's. SA heads (since replaced). "Super ANRS" noise reduction which disappeared from JVC about a year later (think it had something to do with ruffling Dolby's and DBX's feathers). PhilH
  16. Doug: I've been great, how about yourself?? In my many hats I'm wearing at Klipsch, I obviously have not put on the Forum/BB hat lately...my mistake. I'll be dropping by on a frequest basis again. Good to see the veterans and all the new fans! PhilH
  17. Scott: That is an untrue rumor. Klipsch Reference products will only be available through A/V specialists with physical storefronts. A few of those specialists (such as good guys!) may also offer Reference online to those customers only in close physical proximity to one of their stores. PhilH
  18. I love it when someone starts a thread like this because it gives me some great stuff to demo Klipsch with when I do my training thing. I just found a great Telarc disc- Kevin Mahogany, "Pride and Joy". He does some 70's R & B stuff and such...every track is a great sounding demo and great stuff to kick back and listen to in 2 channel. PhilH
  19. Since our Forum is designed to appeal to both male and female audio hobbyists and beginners of all ages, that link was definitely not appropriate for our website. That is the reason for it's deletion. PhilH
  20. They are unauthorized therefore no Klipsch warranty. PhilH
  21. Actually, you have NO Klipsch warranty buying from this site AND with no Klipsch serial numbers you never really know exactly what you are getting. PhilH
  22. I certainly hope not also. Call 1-800-KLIPSCH and talk to Trey or Matt in Tech support. They will take good care of you. PhilH
  23. They're not the same exact drivers and don't know if it would work or not. Tech support would be able to answer that too. PhilH
  24. jkvisfx: Just call 1-800-KLIPSCh,ask for Tech Support, and they'll get you the info. PhilH
  25. dougdrake: Due to the numerous tasteless rivalry jokes between Kentucky and Indiana a good one came to me as soon as I read your post. Unfortunately, if I posted it I'd have to close the thread and kick myself off the forum. PhilH
