  1. Not me. I'm an optimist although I do see things in terms of peaks and valleys in our existence....Getting back to the internet, I do think trends are going in the right direction.
  2. Just, WOW! 😮 Even nicer than from your description. We have a 7.1 HT in a workout room in our business that currently has KLF-20s/C-7/ RS7s & 3s/KSW-12 and projector that when funds allow I'm toying with putting either K-Horns or LaScalas in if the right deal comes up. 😁
  3. It's about 2600 cu ft with an odd shaped configuration. High A-framed ceiling in front with a small squarish room behind with low ceiling slanted upwards to the back of the MLP. This along with it being in a library with books almost top to bottom on the opposing wall really keeps reflections down {Edited. Picture added}
  4. Because of placement issues I have a rear corner-loaded RSW-15 (8 ft from MLP/7" from rear wall/4" side wall) and a Rsw-12 on front side wall (5 ft from MLP) so they are facing 90 degrees from each other. {Note: I don't have a current pic but the side surrounds are no longer raised RF-3s (for multichannel music) with RS-7s on top (for movies) but RB-75s (now for both) and the Front RSW-12 is on that same wall in front facing towards the table and the rear is in front of an unused fireplace with dampening pad blocking the opening to it. It's a 9.2 HT with Audyssey calibration and Dolby PLIIz using heights from a Den9n AVR-4311ci. {Edited}
  5. I'll tell you where I saw change geared towards "less" and that was on Facebook. I joined in December 2016 and about a year later they started a campaign to keep false information from circulating on there...before then folks (and bots) shared alot of crap that wasn't true.
  6. I am proud to be an American and The United States of America works best when we have global allies like Germany helping us achieve our shared Goals!
  7. You have a really nice setup. We have a small weirdly shaped, Library HT which can't accommodate large speakers. That said between my LCR (RF-7s/ RC-7) and RB-75s on the sides and rears with the lower end going to Klipsch RSW subs it really is seamless. 😊 The RB-5IIs used as heights adds a nice touch and I play all this material in Dolby PLIIz, until the Denon breaks down, then we're going to add Top centers and have a 7.2.4 system. Fwiw, it seems that Dolby Surround (Atmos)works great with multichannel disks.
  8. The YouTube Travel and live-cams are also amazing! I have virtually walked, hiked, biked, and taken trams, trains, and buses to places I've been before which brings back incredible memories. Heck, I have bookmarked 6 live-cams in Amsterdam alone! 😮
  9. Sadly it didn't really catch on and I think there's a few reasons why: 1) DVD-A/SACDs were expensive when they came out and there were a limited titles available. 2) There was competition between formats and usually the components that played both were expensive. 3) 9/11 happens and folks weren't spending money at the time 4) 2-channel aficionados weren't willing to purchase additional high quality speakers and were satisfied with their own rigs/music. 5) Limited Home Theaters at the time and smaller surrounds didn't do this material justice. 6) Evidently remixing old albums was expensive and studios didn't want to invest to do so. Regardless, I'm glad I collected the disks I wanted and listen to them like I used to records and CDs of the past. Fwiw, there are several threads on the forum giving good recommendations for those I interested.
  10. Nice! Fwiw, this thread is titled "Let's SEE your Home Theater....Just sayin'...
  11. Not me! Fwiw, I no longer watch a ton of movies like I use to but LOVE multichannel music. I have everything from the Talking Heads library to Depeche Mode's, with Bowie, Elton, T-Rex, Alice Cooper, Clapton, and too many others to mention. I also didn't appreciate Donald Fagan and Steely Dan until I went multichannel and really like those on DVD-A and SACD. We still enjoy a movie now and again and that's like a bonus to our "Multichannel Music System." {Note: We still call it Home Theater though. 😉}
  12. I think Home Theater has probably plateaued with the rising costs and needing more speakers to keep up with the new formats. It has been commented on before but I also think there is an age gap of critical music listeners because of everything else out there for young people to get involved in. I admit to digging a nice, clear image, big screen and AMAZED at the video content out there. Everything from "being there" travel video on YouTube, to outstanding cinematography in Movies are pretty darn cool to appreciate in your home, but truthfully I have caught myself enjoying well made concert videos on a regular basis and they sound phenomenal on our 9.2 Home Theater! I remember those days! It was amazing how much credit card debt I accumulated when I was younger. 😯 That said, I took about a 25 year hiatus from the old "stereo" days and started my journey into Home Theater in the late 90s. It was early 2000 when I first got into multichannel music and have quite the collection of DVD-As, SACDs, and DTS music disks of records/CDs I enjoyed and really couldn't believe the sound quality and experience a really nice sound system could bring out in this material (along with concert videos). Well, now I am a dinosaur in this regard and will agree there are more "2 channel" aficionados nowadays but I do appreciate quality sound a 2 channel doesn't do it for me anymore...That's my story.
  13. I agree. I'm not sure what this means but preamp sections in upper-end AVRs are of higher quality than years past because of what goes into them. If you enjoy what you are hearing then there's no reason to spend money on trying to "upgrade " unless you are yearning for something else. I guess different strokes for different folks, but I listen to multichannel music and my upper-end Denons work great for me. Insofar as 2 channel? I'm never going back! 😎
  14. Wow! No comment on twistedcrankcammer, but those La Scalas look BEAUTIFUL! Very nice job!
  15. Fwiw, the VAST amount of posts are in the lounge. There are a few dealing with older Klipsch speakers and 1 dealing with new ones in the last 24 hours...
  16. Carl quit. dtel only limited moderating, dwilawyer is "Travis in Austin," and he and "Chief Bonehead" are the only two remaining, afaik. Chad is only here to address internet problems.
  17. Wrong Klipsch Lounge thread.
  18. Fwiw, I really like this place! 😊
  19. I am not disagreeing but a Klipsch Engineer seem to mention on the AVS FORUM that a appropriate center may work better if there isn't a single MLP.
  20. I don't really have a vested interest in if he changes his name or not but Trey shared a story in the deleted thread where Mr Delgado called someone on the forum "a bonehead" and they called customer service and complained. For the record, it is a derogatory comment and against the rules as stated in the TOS. {Note: Again, those need to be updated to include the new policy, imo.}
  21. Fwiw, I think that's oversimplified and the Founder's family sold the small company after he died for a profit and let a conglomerate take over the mantle. I have to imagine it's quite a competitive market especially with overseas manufacturing and competitors.
  22. Yep. That was a weird time and it was the lowest common denominator that closed down those important discussions. We ALL were learning new things and tried to deal with it as a community...Others, not so much. Imo, that may be the scapegoat, but there appears to be marketing decisions as well as the forum has outgrown its usefulness in that regard. Imo, Carl was a major contributor in the lounge and seemed like a nice guy, but he didn't need to be a moderator.
