  1. Your only choice is the KL-6502 or KL-6504 as the others are too wide to fit between your studs. I would suggest reinforcing the area where you mount them with plywood to make sure they stay up there. They are heavy. Give me a call if you need more help. Trey T Lu knows how to contact me.
  2. It looks real to me...and I have seen tons of them.
  3. The G-28 was the front 3 with the G-16 in the back. At 2.5 inches deep, the product does a good job.
  4. You guys need to give Amy a harder time...she has been sitting around doing nothing of late. I expect to see some cool pictures in her blog soon. Keep an eye out. Any of you going to be at CEDIA next week?
  5. It wouldn't hurt...you could do as many do, replace them with binding post...parts express for $6 or so. congrats on the speakers and welcome to the forum.
  6. I like to cook it until they fall out...some think its over done, but that is the way I like it when making chopped pork. (I don't like calling it pulled pork, kind of sounds dirty)
  7. A "little" rain can cool a grill off quick.
  8. Only wood in my smoker...I had it a little close to the flame...but I like to crisp the outside then slow cook the rest of the time. It helps to keep it moist. After this pic, I covered the meat in foil and moved it to the other end of the grill. there it cooked for 4-5 hours until the bone was ready to fall out. I let it cool for a bit and cut it up for chopped pork. Its not easy to get that big cooker the right temp for just 2 small chunks of meat. Keeping it hot was not easy as it rained about 3 inches in 1hr right in the middle of the cooking. The pork turned out just fine.
  9. We are building a few hundred every month or so....We keep building them and they keep leaving the plant. I guess they are being sold. Maybe all the dealers are just taking them home...
  10. Here is a little better shot of my rig. It needs to be sand blasted and stove coat. At some point I will get it done. Hope to cook a little this weekend.
  11. The only competition we were ever in, Dad took 3rd...then they told him every one else used pork ribs...he used beef. He did a much better job with the ribs than I. And I like not having to work to get the meat off the bone...and I like thinks well done. Like audio, as long as you like what you have... and the first tank opening was a blast...
  12. Not a very good picture...but this is the "small" smoker that my Dad and I built back in "93". It started out a 150 gal LP gas tank...The first one didn't fair so good when we could not get it open to put the water in before cutting on it...Funny what a 44mag will do to a LP gas tank under pressure. I bet that thing went 80 ft up in the air... Your problem is you don't have a smoker, you have a fancy grill. The way I cook, you don't get hot enough. I like to bring the temp up 450 or 500 to put a "crust" on the meat fast. I cover the meat with foil, then I let it die down to around 300 to slow cook. I turn the meat every now and then to make sure it cooks even. I use wood to cook with, thus the smoke. I don't take off any of the skin on pork, but will cut off some of the fat on beef. When cooking beef, I try to use the "goose-neck". that is the top and bottom round stake. I like it better than the brisket, as you loose less weight and it is a much more lean cut. For Pork, I use the Boston butts...maybe because I like telling folks that I am cooking a$$. I get the bone in and use the bone to judge when it is ready...if the bone will pull out with no meat on it, its ready. (just like with the ribs) I use a dry rub to start, but will put BBQ sauce on it while cooking if I think it needs the moisture. On beef, I have been known to put bacon down into the meat to add a bit of fat if it is a very lean cut of meat. If you ever make it to Indy maybe we can toss something dead on the fire and see what comes out. The main thing is to enjoy...
  13. The real answer is to use the 4 Ohm setting...This is the min. that the speaker will show the amp...if the amp is expecting it you should never have a problem. The speakers are 8 Ohm compatible but the min Z is about 4 Ohms. A speaker does not have one "Ohm rating" . Ohm's here are talking about impedance and that changes with frequency. So at 110 Hz it may be 60 Ohms and at 300 Ohms it may be 4 Ohms. One number just does not cut it. Thus the "compatible" ....and not "Nominal" want some fun..look up the word "nominal" Have a good weekend.
  14. With our IN Ear buds, you will get about 25 db of isolation. If you add 40db of music and the world is almost gone. Welcome!
  15. I always suggest connecting the speaker using the top red and the bottom black binding post. Doing this will confirm that the "jumpers" are working. IF NO sound comes from any part of the speaker, check the jumpers. If sound does come from a part of the speaker, the jumpers are ok. Once you have the speaker open, connect the speaker wire to the woofer using no crossover. If it plays "ok" then the woofer is ok. You can do the same for the tweeter, but remember to watch your volume. you can hurt the tweeter with a small amount of bass. If it is the crossover and you have a soldiering iron we can talk you through the fix...If not we can sale you another network.
  16. Larry, that is because there have only been 17 of them ever built...They are not in production. We used the Pilot run product for the show.
  17. At this point help is what we need the most in the morning... I will be at the park about 6 am to try and get the bucket truck running and at 7 we will start on the tent. i can use my truck to pull up the polls. Short of going after speakers, I will be at the park most of the day.
  18. I am Very happy to say that we DO have a tent to raise on Friday Morning. IF we have any structural engineers in the mix you help will be needed. I have a plan for shade over about 40,000sqr ft of ball field, but will need some help to make it happen. ( and some luck and a few "hey yall watch this") At this point I have about 3 guys to help stand the tent...You all know I think I can do it by myself, but I have been told that I have to get help. Any sailors or fishermen or boy scouts will be helpful. Plumbers and electricans could help as well. I think I can have the shade up by noon on Friday. fogers in the tent and fans will be there about 5. I have stage props to build...anyone with framing experince. Air brush artis or just someone that can paint...
  19. Ok guys,...as PWK would say...its goina be Damn Hot..So bring shade if you want...I am putting fog sprayers in the big tent and have an idea of how to get even more shade....I will need TONS of help on Friday morning and all day for that matter.... Shade, Sun Screen, Water NO ADULT DRINKS allowed in the park... Chairs Be ready for a PARTY.... I will guess now that we will have 2000 folks at the music festival this year and all at one time... I will try to make the Farmhouse for a few min on Friday after 10 pm.... The WHOLE town is getting ready.
  20. If you go to Indy you will be all alone...We are all in Hope, Arkansas.....
  21. we will see what we can do....until then try this... Ok...you go about 3 miles out HWY 278 North ( that use to be HWY 4 so if you ask you may get both or 1 of the numbers) At about 3 miles look for a boot on a fence post on the right side of the road with the sole up and toe pointing to the north. Its almost on the corner post where HWy 32 mets 287...you will know your there because the airport will be on your left. So Turn right and go over the tracks both times and at the top of the hill you will see a curve tuning right ahead. Turn Left in the right hand curve. go through the S curve and turn in to the parking lot on the right just past the front door of the plant offices. And it that don't get you there, we will try to get you the fancy numbers....
