  1. I know Gary Biggs BGN was one sweet car, NOW SOLD. JBL gear is great, but just another brand that is overpriced IMO. Heard Richard's car years ago, and Joe Black's set up w/HLCD (horns) Dynaudio mids. Amazing what you can achieve in car audio. I also competed in MECA from 2003 - 2006 in SQ. Now relagated to PT SQ judging. Frzninvt it's all yours! Good ole' Mo from IASCA (what a Canadian character, and I still have lots of friends competing in IASCA (Team JBL) Who knows Frzninvt, we may have met at one time or another. Yes, those Morel's are sweet too Best of luck on that project Old Enough[:#]
  2. Sheez, after (7) pages, I would have figured you'd have them by now OB.[] I found 1/2 of what you seek:
  3. Have you heard the Focal's? I am running MBQuartz Qlines, but they are way overpriced IMHO. The next project vehicle will be getting Focal V2's (polyglass), and I prefer them over the Kevlar K2 series. Much fuller midrange w/power handling capabilities. Not quite as bright as the K2's, but 1/2 the price. http://www.focal-america.com/ That's about the price range if I remember correctly, but there are so many on the market. Heck, even Memphis (Msync series) makes a nice full range comp/coaxial series ($200-$300 range). http://www.memphiscaraudio.com/products/family.asp?id=1 So many choices, but I say let your ears decide! Car Audio and Electronics publishes an annual directory of car audio products in one of their issues, so you can get all sorts of specs, options and ideas. I am sure you are no novice, but just in case, remember some titanium tweeters will normally yield a brighter/harsher hi-end as opposed to a silk-dome or alumunim set up. It all depends upon your listening preferences, so I cannot recommend any one speaker for you. Best wishes Mark
  4. Santana "Zebop" 1981 and "Shango" 1982 Both LP's featured Alex Ligertwood on vocals. Hard to believe Alex was featured on many of Carlos' productions. (16 year span) Very distinctive voice IMO.
  5. (a) What is your budget? IMHO, and good/decent pair would run you $250 for 2-way separates, or would you be satisfied w/coaxials? I can think of many in the $200 - $2000 range. (assuming 6.5" size) Not sure about what size your model Toyota will hold (OEM), but I would highly suggest 6.5" separates for maximum SQ. What about your HU (head unit)? Still factory?
  6. Agreed.....and throw in "For Earth Below".
  7. Nobody in MECA (as far as my knowledge) has any KLIPSCH products in car audio. For that matter, I don't recall ever seeing anyone from IASCA, DBDRAG, SLAP or USAC having these products either. Amy, if KLIPSCH ever develops a prototype system, I would dearly love to compete and exhibit your line of equipment. FREE ADVERTISING and possible magazine photoshoot.
  8. Fear the underdogs.....Washington Redskins and Jacksonville Jaguars I need a new Super Bowl Champion hat......my Skins Ballcap is 25 years old []
  9. Personally speaking, it was a decade full of changes, and also probably the most memorable, impressionable, and insprirational decade of my life.
  10. Don't you just love those spouses that point out the obvious.......you may want to give it back so she can read it and understand the "Madness"
  11. T'was the day before Christmas and all thru the house, many Klipsch loudspeakers were playing with themes of a Klaus. With Solid State or Tubes, and all sorts of devices, holiday tunes were the norm with no stressful crisis. Heritage, Legend, is makes no matter, they all sound great, but when turned up loud, be cautious of a thunderous shatter. Amps and Watts, will all be hard at work, as family members gather 'round to perform a system lurk. They "ooh" and and they "ahh" in envy of such, and say I can't afford them, as is the usual crutch. So as we sit back and enjoy the sound, let's treasure these times where we can all lay around. Whether you be girl or boy, here is hoping YOU get that special Klipsch Christmas toy[]
  12. I've always advocated that IF you intend to use a preamp, then use complimentary or like components. As posted earlier, the weakest link will always be your downfall. Hence, when I purchased my Yamaha equipment, they were a good compliment of technology that was available in the early 80's. It was all I could afford for separates at the time. With a RTR, TT, CD player, Cassette unit, Tuner, and peripheral devices (EQ/DBX - looped), I required a very flexible piece of equipment with multiple inputs/outputs.
  13. I would agree under those conditions, but how many people only run (1) dedicated source?
  14. My euphenism: The amp is the heart, and the preamp is the brain.......you require both in MOST instances and they work in conjunction with each other. Somewhat a simplistic approach IMO.
  15. Just a quick post to thank KLIPSCH for supporting both NEW and OLD supporters of this forum. I initially began my search for information, and soon found much more than just facts and figures. We have a bond that is unique and brings us even closer during these festive times. Thank you all who have donated to my quest for knowledge and musical appreciation during the past year, and God Bless you for all for your contributions in making me a wiser individual. While everyone is frantically running around in these horrible weather conditions, the stress can be overwhelming at times to meet those all important deadlines of parties, familiy visitations, gift acquisitions and travel itineries. Please take the time to remember the true spirit of Christmas or whatever beliefs you hold true in your hearts. ....and to all a goodnight! Mark Stevens
  16. Contentment is the first sign of old age.......your mind says you are, but you are in denial Just ask Colterphoto............too much is never enough![][]
  17. Thebes, I'll do my best to post up something......maybe Alvin and the Chipmunks. You do know I do a pretty good impersonation of Alvin (w/helium)[] Geez, nobody appreciates Robin Trower.......no views/no replies, yet he is still rated #923 on the celebrity list[*-)] Expect his next release w/Jack Bruce to be released in Jan/2008 "Seven Moons" Bueller, Bueller, Bueller He's putting together the band for the USA tour with the following members: Glen Letsch - Bass Davey Pattison and Pete Thompson
  18. Hmmm.....sounds like he lives next door to Tim "The Toolman" Taylor[] Typical Mid-Atlantic weather here: COLD, HUMID, and WINDY, but NO SNOW[]
  19. WOW...I never knew he was diagnosed w/prostate cancer. One of my most cherished singer/composers from the 70's and early eighties. His music touched me in so many different ways. R.I.P. my friend. A very, very sad day indeed.
  20. DE vs Appalachian State tonight! Although I believe AS will make it (3) years straight as Champion......but here's crossing my fingers.
  21. Any RT enthusiasts, please check out his website, but we have a 2008 USA tour posted. Locally, the Birchmere (Washington, DC) 3/9/08 ----- BOTH of our birthdays, so that may be a hell-ova time. Hope to see some you there.
  22. Wow Boom, I was still breast feeding back then...... yes indeedy, the simple life.[]
  23. I'm starting Chantix tomorrow, and have had (1) today. HOPEFULLY by next week, NO MORE.
