  1. Could always upgrade the center down the road as funds become available. The RC3 would definitely not be able to keep up with the RF-7 II
  2. My vote is RF-7II. They will outlive any receiver for years to come.
  3. Yes, I'm currently reviewing Dual SB-16 Ultras. Just need to get some time to do some direct A/B between them and my (4) RSW-15's to see if I will be purchasing them. I have been thoroughly impressed with the Ultra Subs. I've heard willland SB13 and it sounded fantastic. Definitely a good buy at your asking price. Good luck hiding the PB from the wife. LOL
  4. Welcome to the forum utvolsfan. You are going to LOVE the dual 16 Ultras. I was just listening to them a few minutes ago in the theater room. Best wishes with the sale.
  5. Here is my take on it....if someone lists something here in the Garage Sale, they are indeed entitled to list it for whatever amount they want. Over the years, we have made it a courtesy to the seller not to engage in pointing out their item for sale isn't worth their asking price. The OP of this thread is seeking advice and and willland mentions that he found a pair that he feels is a bit insanely priced (which I would have to agree considering the prices that I see here in Florida). For example.... $500 Heresy's - https://lakeland.craigslist.org/ele/d/klipsch-heresy-loudspeakers/6548936997.html $600 Heresy II HBR - https://fortmyers.craigslist.org/lee/ele/d/klipsch-heresy-ii-old-school/6547335565.html It's not uncommon to see Heresy listed in my area for $250 - $350. Are they worth more? Likely so. Are they worth $1500? Not to this guy. Is there someone that might be willing to pay $1500 for them? Possibly...but they have to NEED them really bad because for that price they can easily buy a pair of LaScalas. I completely agree with you. The seller is under no obligation to accept your offer and it's just that....an offer that you are willing to pay. If the seller agrees, you just likely scored a Youthman Deal. If they say no thanks, they can patiently wait for another buyer to come along.
  6. Are you kidding me? I just sold my LaScala Trio to pay for it!!! Ughhhhh!!
  7. Wow, thaw was super cool of Klipsch to donate those to the museum to sell.
  8. Wesgillet, my sincere apologies as this isn't the way we typically welcome new members. Also, congrats on the new baby! I have 4 children myself. Kids are incredible. For those wishing to share your suggestions regarding pricing, please do so via PM, not in this thread. It's up to the OP what he is wanting to get for the unit. If you are not interested in the item for sale, please move along. Now back to your regularly scheduled programming. Michael
  9. Absolutely a great buy. Heresy don't have much bottom end so they definitely sound best when paired with a quality sub. Typically, any Klipsch speakers for $100 is a good buy. Congrats!
  10. Have you run Audyssey yet? that would be where I would start
  11. Keep an eye out on Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace, LetGo and OfferUp. You should be able to find them within your budget. I wouldn't pay over $150 for them.
  12. If you have RB-3 and RC-3, the matching surrounds would be the RS-3. They have a keyhole mount on the back that allows you to easily hang them on the wall.
  13. If you can find some Royalty Free Jazz music, I would be glad to provide a demo. YouTube flags the videos and has even pulled my videos down for copyright infringement.
  14. You weren't the first person to notice that. LOL. My wife had to run some errands so I didn't have a chance to re-run Audyssey and wanted to get a quick listen while she was away since she doesn't like loud music. The trim in my receiver was set at +3db and I just began to increase the volume until it sounded amazing without distortion. That just happened to be at 0dB. I thought the SB volume went up to around 10dB, but what I later discovered was that was the max volume. Whoops. LOL Probably not a good idea as there is no headroom at max volume. This week I will be re-running Audyssey with the sub volume set to -10dB (which is the default setting) to see where it sets the sub levels in the receiver. I'm not sure what volume I had it set at.
  15. Thanks Rick. I have always enjoyed sharing my experiences with this community. Now I'm able to share via video instead of just text. I haven't tried tubes yet. I've heard great things though. I guess I just wonder if I would get the same slam that I get from a Solid State 200 x 2 amp. Wow, you certainly have put together a first class system! My hats off to you.
  16. I finally had some time to put together an audio demo of the Klipsch RF-7 III with Dual SVS SB-16 Ultra Subwoofers. The RF-7 III are being powered by a Parasound Halo A52+ Amp. This setup sounds absolutely AMAZING! I'm really curious how Dual SB-16 will compare to my (4) RSW-15's. I've always wished the RSW-15's would dig a little deeper for home theater. I guess time will tell. Maybe tomorrow I can carve out some time to watch my first video with this setup. Hope you enjoy - https://youtu.be/GNTAr9X-8P4
  17. Not a steal but these are getting harder to find - https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/616773321990371 Seller is asking $350 OBO I ran a pair with RF-83 / RC-64 for several years and they had no problem keeping up with the big boys.
  18. Denon AVRX4400H has been recommended by many in that price range.
  19. Agreed. Your friend's ears will give out LONG before the LaScalas do.
