  1. Thats really cool thanks for sharing.
  2. You saying they are about 1,000 each. Why is the painted one cheaper then the non painted one.
  3. I would, I have actually been thinking of building one to see how I like it. I would just want to find the exact k-77 tweeter as my Cornwalls. Piece of mind.
  4. For any casual reader... the process has always been "contact Roy, let him know what you want to do and he will put you into the process" Put another way... if you call 'any' cinema dealer and they put an order in, Roy won't necessarily know about it. As yours are made, will they have the correct SKU numbers to give you the right parts? More than one person has received the K402 with the wrong driver attached. One was ordered through Roy and a very early buyer so I think it was just an honest mistake. Problem for him (the buyer) is, he didn't know what happened and was rather displeased with the amount of "tinkle" (he's the owner in England) that his Jubilee's had. When I was over there visiting, I met him and noticed something different about the appearance of his driver verses mine.... I asked Roy and Roy recognized my comment to mean he might have the wrong driver (I had no clue and didn't pull the horn out to look) Sure enough, Ralph had the wrong driver. Klipsch sent the correct driver and the Tinkle was restored. Ralph was the 3'rd buyer so I think it's fair to say it was just an honest mistake since this would have only been the third pair with the K69 attached to the K402. The next person, ended up getting his through a local dealer. Long story short, the dealer didn't know to swap out the HF driver to the K69 so those also came with the wrong driver. In the end all was fixed but created some wait time for the new owner. I think Roy has finally created a SKU number for the K402/69 combo to help prevent this from happening in the future. I think most people might know about most of the above so this isn't directed specifically at you Joe, just some commentary for a casual reader that might be intrigued and want to follow your footsteps. Bottom line... if anyone is interested in ordering a pair of Jubilee's, the starting point should be Roy. I should forward this to my wife so if she was ever to surprise me[8-)]
  5. Another thing to add I don't know if American Cinema offers different price, but I called a close by cinema shop that was asking quite a bit for other Klipsch cinema products(maybe they just go for that). So certain places such as American Cinema may have better pricing. So another reason to talk to Roy.
  6. What woofers did you use the same ones or something different. I was thinking of playing with some 8" woofers to make a surround speaker. I just have to figure which crossover to use such as 1st order or 2nd order butterworth or 2 order linkwitz-riley. I am thinking the 2nd order linkwitz-riley just have questions on the caps and inductors it calls for.
  7. So what does boom plan on using it for.
  8. Is there a specific reason for that woofer.
  9. I say take a db reading. I know when I have my Khorns on downstairs at a low but good listing level to me it seems to be that there is just such good clarity that you don't find yourself turning it up as loud as you would with other speakers so when you move to another room the detail goes away so you would need to crank it up to hear it in another room. Just my thoughts on it.
  10. I think it just sucks all around for any company, like Marvel said the company will probably incorporate some of the product into theirs. It all smells fishy.
  11. How far are your surround speakers, if I mount my surround backs on the back wall they would be 15' away from the surround speakers. I am thinking incelling would be best so I can mount them closer.
  12. Originally I was going to close off my theater room at about 22' but the wife said I wouldn't be happy with a 10' bar area. So I decided to keep it the full 32' which gives me a better back row that I can raise, and a better bar area that will all be in the same room which I am fine with. My question is my surrounds will be approx 17' from my fronts, the surround backs will be celling mounted, which I was just thinking of mounting them symmetrically from side to side. But I didn't know how far back they should go, the side surrounds are fairly large(Gothovers Drift design). I don't think I may even really need the surround backs but why not if its offered right. I could even mount them on the back wall if that wasn't to far. I just didn't know if there was a standard to surround back placement. Thanks Duder
  13. Nice and congrats. welcome to the forum as well.
  14. That was my original attentions(exactly) until you hooked me up with the buddy of yours from Iowa with the Khorn bass bins. I will let my friend know, I have the cabs sitting in the corner collecting dust. They need to be put to good use.
  15. Unless the right and left looked different the veneers on both of those Khorns look different. If I didn't had the 53' khorn I would have it fitted for some enclosed backs I like the look of them.
  16. I have a pair of so called EV Regency cabs that are approx 9-9.5 cubic foot ported cabs. I was told that this design was one of Paul's design for EV back in the day rather that is true or not it is a corner loaded cab. That with the right corner and driver could make a pretty nice passive sub. So what do I need to look at when picking the right sub. I was looking at a evm18 b which only calls for a 7.5 cubic foot enclosure would a bigger air space down grade the bass to much. Any help would be great.
  17. You may already be doing this but if not, you can set up a Redbox account on line. Then you can search and reserve a movie(s) from several nearby kiosk. Just make sure you take the same card that you used to reserve with you. One button and a swipe and off you go! The first time I did this, I didn't realize the kiosk was across town[:@]. and tasdom I love how you came up with your user name.
  18. What kind of paint, gloss, semi gloss, flat, exterior interior. Because you know the all have different drying times.
  19. I liked clash I couldn't wait for Wrath to come out but it didn't seem do be in theaters to long which usually seems it dosen't do well in the box office but who knows. But I know what I am doing tonight searching all redboxs for that on bd.
  20. Awesome, did you buy from a private seller or from Klipsch either way that is a heavy packing job. I bet they will sound great once set up.
  21. Bob, Is that what I think it is a center channel to match. If so how does it sound with the Cornscala set up. I was dreaming of something like that to day. Maybe someday, I will give it a try. Just wonder what it would take to use a k600/k55, k77 combo instead. Dave and Bob you both do great work. Davr I take it you will be painting to match the baffle.
  22. I started wathcing it last night but fell a sleep so will sit down with the kids again and try again. But from what I seen the cgi was real looking I all most couldn't tell if the people were real or not.
  23. My wife and I were just talking about this last night, we stream through our ps3 video/audio quality is good there just doesn't seem to be any good movies any more. I don't know if I have to update something or what but there seems to be more kids movies then movies for us.
  24. I don't know who does or doesn't get the chance to listen to this program. But every Sunday morning until 10:00 A.M. they play a bunch of acoustic classic rock from all our favs. I don't know what time it starts because I dont wake up that early. But I enjoy listening to this when I fix a big breakfast for my family. But heres the link http://www.acousticstorm.com/
  25. I have the k55 on a altec 511b, and a selenium d220ti on the hm17-25 crossed over at 400/4500 from Bob Crites. I think it sounds good.
