  1. If they were brand new they would definitely still be in the boxes and the seller would know if he had the boxes..
  2. It is 3/4" birch plywood. Did you cut the tail board off? any other photos? thanks Nothing was cut off. No screws in the cabinet itself. I used 4 screws per side and they were located in the mounting boards for the grills and the mounting boards for the tail board. This is the only other pic I have is showing how they fit flush everywhere. My intension was to paint them black but never did. Ok, I see now. That sure looks simple. You went flush to the tail board. Any vibration or reso when your throttle them up? Im wanting to do this as well. Do you think MDF would be better due to the few anchor points? Also, do you think that 3/4" of air space loss makes a difference as opposed having them against the wall? Looks very clean. Great job Its very simple if you have access to a table saw. Nothing sticks out past the side grill or tail board . No vibration that I can hear but at 105db I don't think you could hear it. I would much rather use plywood with only 4 screws rather than mdf but either would be fine. I have since made some 9" x 9" pcs. with back cut 45 degree angles on 3 sides to cover the 2 gaps at the tailboards. I don't think the gaps at the grills matter.
  3. That makes sense as it sure didn't look like a tape monitor. You would think the seller would know what he has for sale ! I have some Marantz but I am basicly a Sansui guy when it comes to solid state.
  4. Your list and the list I see in the ad doesn't match up ! Model twenty solid state stereophonic tuner Model 5500 tape monitor Model 250 stereo amp

  6. Sounds like a very nice unit. I have found only one unit of that time period. and it had been used and the plastic was not perfect.
  7. I have a Marantz 2238 in collector condition that has been boxed up and put away for a few years. It is so mint that's it still has the plastic cover on the face which it came with new. It is also in mint condition ! PM me if you are interested.

Kogeed is definitely a stand up guy ! I sold him KPT-402's last year and everything about the transaction went smooth includimg the communication.
  12. not sure how very committed you are to buying a set of CW but for what it is worth(and this is just my opinion)you should also consider a set of Chorus ll which replaced the CW (it was ten years till the retro crowd convinced Klipsch to bring the CW back). The Chorus ll has a far better woofer which also handles a lot more power and the Chorus ll also has a significantly better modern hybrid mid horn along with the K79 tweeter and it has a much more domestic acceptable cabinet volume. You loose nothing in bandwidth either. Just so you know. I am sure there will be CW owners who will disagree but Chorus ll owners will tell you what they think also. Best regards Moray James I agree !
  13. Now you see why they are empty ! They are worth more selling the parts.
  14. I believe the one Gilbert had is the one I delivered to another forum member at the 2011 Klipschfest .
  15. Here is the thread in the alerts section. https://community.klipsch.com/index.php?/topic/152572-unique-modded-lascala-for-1900-in-ny/
  16. That's only because you don't have a clue how good they sound !
  17. Great price for an outstanding pair of speakers !
  18. The discoloration is where the injection mold comes together and has been sanded flat.
  19. The 402 and a bunch of JBL gear is on the Dallas craigslist. Much better deal !
  20. You re right as it doesn't get much better than this !
  21. Great ! That would be the set I traded to Dan in a deal for some Jubilee's. I prefer the xovers in the 98's much better than the 99's. I still have the other set that I purchased from Mike Lindsey with 402's in a 2-way system and really am very satisfied with them.
  22. It just comes out that way. I think the big draw with the DBB's would be the ability to go 2 way with a 502 or 402 horn. Big bass, big horn. Add a couple amps, an active or passive crossover and let'er rip. This is the way to go !
  23. Are they KPT-904-lf-n or KPT-904-lf-m for the serial number ?
  24. I considered buying this 884 from Bill but just wanted to go with dual subs. They go down to 18 as well. I use them for music only. My H/T is 4 Khorns and a SVS PB/Ultra/2 for movies and the front Khorns with 2 RSW-15's for music and sounds fantastic. The 15's seem to be very musical.
  25. I ran a kpt-684 with my 904's and wasn't happy with it as it didn't go any lower than the 904's. I now run 2 rsw-15's with them and couldn't be happier plus they take up a lot less room!
