I bought the xpa-5 back in nov....And to tell you the truth( well my ears) It sound better now then when i first got her...i know theres big debates on break-in..(which i dont beleive in) but to my ears theres a diffrerence....probably more like warm up period then break-in...But i cant wait to get a blu-ray...Now my debate is either a PS3 60 gig or wait for the oppo BDP-83......[:^)]

The umc-1 pre/pro will be 699.99 and wont be release till late feb maybe march IF your on the pre-order list otherwise it will be even later for second run of them....the xmc is suppose to be 999.99 and theres no release date that iam aware of...And as for the amps being on sale much longer i have no idea...Go over to the emo lounge and ask the guys over there...There very helpful...Or call emotiva and talk to lonnie... Hi....HVN......If you have alittle patients....Wait for the oppo BDP-83 to come out...I think there talking about a month or two before its release date...It's suppose to be the first universal player....I was think of getting the panasonic or ps3 but i think iam going to wait for oppo's to come out....i just hope i have enought patients myself....lol......but good luck on your adventure... Yes there amps are great...I luv mine to death well not really but you get my point.lol....Some food for thought....For the extra $100 i would go with the XPA-5....Plus if you want in the future go with a XPA-2,,And then you can go 7.1 if you like...Note: there customer service A++++++...It like are Family here at Klipsch...Everyone is down to earth..Well maybe not...LOL...Just go over to emotiva lounge and read and ask questions....Very helpful info over there....And hey if you order one ask for a t-shirt...you never know..(hint)..... The best way to get a better signal is to get the 211 and upgrade the service so you get HD programing...You can upgrade the box and get the the hdmi/component connections it should help the picture a bit..But i dont think your going to get a 1080p signal.....Unless you have HD programing added....I know when i watch a non HD channel i cant stand watching it anymore.....But with HD its great! and iam pretty sure you have to change the LNB too but dont quote me on that.....Maybe someone else can chimm in on this issue too..

Yes i understand your point on the trigger...Iam in the same boat...well not really...lol but if you hold off for a month or so emotiva is comeing out with the umc..Which what i plan on doing myself...the umc is going to be a great pre/pro set...just my 2 cents

Well i went forth and purchased a XPA-5 and should receive unit this friday...Woooo Hooooo..[] I sold my BPA-1's...So it free up more funds...I will keep you informed on my listening experience...The one reason why i went with the xpa-5 is that all channels will be driven the same except for rear speakers...which at this time arent even hooked up...There in my bedroom(RS-35)...Iam actually quite happy with 5.1 anyways. Thanks for all who chimed in on my debate and is much apperiated...

Yea...thats why i was super interested in them now...LOL...Not that i wasnt...Just a real good price. Thats my debate XPA-5 or the XPA-3....Iam probably going to go for the XPA-3 and sell off my BPA-1's and let the reciever to duty on the surrounds...Or maybe the XPA-2 and keep the BPA-1's for the center...Things that make you go hmmmmmmmmm..[:^)]

Well iam thinking of droppin the cash on this amp this week..What do you guys think? I know that some of you have them but just wanted to know if thats going over board? I know headroom is always a plus....But just dont want to over do it...(i guess there no such thing from what i heard...lol).....I love my BPA-1's (power for center channel) and they sound sweet...All my speakers are finally Reference series....So i guess iam just looking for pros and cons here...apperiate the help guys....

I think it something to do with the broadcasting...Ive notice that to....When a commercial come on it will get lower or louder...and then i notice on my stereo it display -2 . And then when the movie comes back on it will say +4...Iam like WTF...lol

Will those cause it to go into protection mode? Or is it like you stated " this is normal"......And yes i normally dont do this>>Turn it up past 3/4 turns with no speakers connected....I acceidently hit the knob up almost all the way without knowing and i heard it clip off and then on again....I was like [:^)] Iam going to take it apart to clean all switches, because ive notice when i turn the tape monitor on and off (the switch) One channel sounds distorted...Like its out of tune....Its hard to describe it though...like it goes in and out of volume... And then when i do it again (switch) on/off it will be normal again...And then i try to repeat it again and it wont happen again... thanks again mike

They look like RS-3 to me........And it seams funny that they cut off the model and serial # and used a white paper sticker for serial number......Well atleast ive never seen them like that before....just my 2 cents If you look at the horn/tweeter on a RS-7 and look at the screw pattern and compare it to a RS-3 there different...Unless they changed the pattern in production or somthing like that...

This only happens when i have no wires connected to stereo,,,,nada,,,no speakers to....I didnt hook the speakers up to unit and turn it up that loud my neighbors would get mad..lol......I only had it half way up for about a minute or 2 and it didnt go into protection mode......with no speaker wires hooked up to stereo and iam playing a cd/tuner....and i turn knob up 3/4 or more iy goes into protection mode...then i have to turn it down to make it come back on (No music no wires no nada) I just watch the uv meters dance around....I did peak inside but didnt see anything visual....And sometimes i can leave it on for an hour or 2 and i can turn it up almost all the way and it doesnt go into protection mode.......[:^)]

Hey all.......I have a pioneer receiver that goes into protection mode when i turn up volume 3/4 of the way up or almost full with no speaker wires connected to receiver...Is this normal? I didnt do it with speakers connected..well i did but not that high maybe half way up or so and sometimes its fine other times it will go into protection mode...i would say 75% its fine and the other is 25% it goes into protection mode Well protection mode maybe wrong to desribe what happens...What it does is youll here a click then no sound then click again and then sound...Is there anything i can check for inside.....Oh its a pioneer SX-1080......If i have to i will take it to my local repair man but rather not...Any help would be greatly apperiated!! I agree with InVeNtOR.....Just save up alittle more! And be patient! Onkyo 805 great AVR...Cant go wrong!
