  1. LMAO- that is great- have to remember that one.
  2. Warning to anyone reading this thread looking at mounts- Avoid the Sanus universal model at all costs. The instructions are incorrect and very generic. This mount supposedly fits anything from 34-60". The holes on mine did not line correctly for my 50" Panny plasma. One of the mount screws shifted in its groove(long opening rather than a hole to accomidate a range of sizes). The tv dropped way down on one side. Sacred the living*&^& out of everyone in the room. I ran out to the storage room and got a tool roller cab. Sat a large hydralic jack on top of the roller cab to jack up the tv back to the proper position. Absolutely no room to work behind the TV.I had to rig up a pair of small vice grips to turn the socket wrench to re- tighten the loose bolt/screw. If you see a Sanus mount that seems to fit every size TV- run like hell unless you planing on filming a U tube blooper video.. Next time I will pay someone to do this. If you do a DYI have several people ther to help out.Dangeous stufff when things go bad.
  3. Something must be wrong- the RC 64 is one of the best centers on the market. You need to have a tech look at the whole thing. It almost sounds like you got a defective speaker.
  4. A home project or auto repair job is rated as a 6 or a 12 beer job depending on the time factor, level of difficulty , and the amount of cussing involved to finish.. A less than attractive woman is rated a a six packer or a 12 packer depending on how man beers you would have to consume to approach her in a bar. 5:30 PM is refered to as beer thirty. A DWI -tag not requied- motor scooter is refered to as a liquior cycle. I am sure that there are more. I am on my 3rd Pilsner Urquel so I most likely forgot a few.
  5. Just using Sony as an example of box store merchandise as opposed to audiophile gear- There are 2 Sony products in my equipment profile. Best buy..... another story for another day. I will not hijack your thread with a 10 minute rant Hope it all works for you,
  6. I have almost identical room dimensions with Modded k horns on the front narrow wall. My chair is 11 feet back. 7.1 works great in a long narrow room like yours/mine. RED ALERT- the RC 62 will not work with the k horns-Been there tried that with an RC64 which I hated to sell. Cant mix Reference with Heritage. Horn mismatch. Lose the 62- buy a single lascala- or maybe a cornwall. There are other heritage choices but I am partiar to the Lascala both as center and rears. Feed it a bunch of outboard power and you are on your way to HT nirvana big time My K horn based HT system kills the local movie theaters. The k horns also offfer limitless possibilities for an external 2 ch setup if you dont mind having a switchbox or changing speaker leads back and forth. Personally I was not able to get satisfactory 2ch sound out of my CD mode Ht receiver. Also consider modding the k horns to 2" trachorns- big drivers with ALK universal Xovers. This is an OMG mod for HT or 2 ch. Please let us know how it works out. Good luck.
  7. I love the Louisana gulf area. Have friends in Homa and Chavin. hunted ducks there for many years. Memories with my kids and friends. I so pissed off that I cannot watch TV reports or talk about this in rational manner. I want to vomit everytime I see an oil soaked pelican. Everybody involved- the BP jerks and all of the politicans involved who have fumbled offers of help should be hung on the steps of the capitol building on par per view TV. give the proceeds to the duck guides , fishermen, business owners that just had their careers ruined for life. Yes I am boycotting BP products. Boycott hurting small businesses? Too bad. Change your store to another brand.
  8. Classical music does not work for that application. Some places here tried that as well with no success. Like shooting a BB gun at a charging cape buffalo. A little Hank Jr , David Allen Coe or even some bluegrass would have sent them packing.
  9. If the product was in lower demand they would be bending over backward to make you happy. The customer is not always right but he IS the CUSTOMER. 25 years ago I adopted this policy with my customers. Please them at any cost within reason. I attribute my success in business to this attitude. I have dealt with many audio vendors in my recent system build. I travel frequently so I am in the same boat as you. In most cases they have held stuff- drop shipped - delayed shipments- ect Emotiva has a hot product but they should accomidate your wishes. I don't think that your situation is that unreasonable given that you are ready to drop that amount of cash. You not buying a freaking Sony from Best Buy. Hope it turns out to your satisfaction.
  10. Side note- If you go the Denon103R the zu mod seems to be the cat's behind according to many senior forum members.I bought a 103r with the intention of sending it out for this mod. After I bought the 103R- I find out from ZU that there AINT NO ^%^% parts available for the mod. The SME Tomearm is way too complicated for my ability level to set up. A realy top notch TT setup will set you back 250-300 from my tech(He is really really good). So I am sitting here with a 103r and a Thorens 125 that is not being used to avoid another set up charge when the mods become available. You may want to consider waiting a few months to buy a new cart for this mod- It is 200 + your donor cart. I paid less than 500.00 for the 130r from E-Bay. The seller has 2000 feedbacks and the cart has checked out as new. I see them for under 500 often. My 2 cents worth. Great system- 1000 congrats
  11. Well said Steve. Vet here as well- Never shot at- at least in the service-hope you med issues are healing.
  12. The tuna was off the charts- Marinated for 1 hour in Girrard's Blue cheese vinagarette dressing- cracked pepper- small pinch of sea salt- pinch of garlic powder- seared for 2 minutes on each side at med/high heat in a chef's pan- soy and wassabe on the side- OMG- Better than grilled IMHO
  13. Cats and cars dont mix at any level. A few years back I started my truck. A cat was asleep on the engine. After the fan belts did their thing it was pretty bad. I looked but could not find a collar from what was left. I hope it was not some kid's pet.Upset me for several weeks.
  14. A local theater opened recently. Immediately a criminal thug element moved in- harassing movie goers- playing loud car stereos with obnioxious rap music- running the customers away- they were only interesting in loitering and selling drugs- breaking into cars- and leaving trash strewn across the lot. The theatre owners responed by getting an age curfew from the mall ownership/police and playing loud country/western music blaring at high volume across the parking lot from the roof of the building. The bad guys were gone in a matter of 2 weeks.[Y]
  15. If you are a 70s/80s rock person as I am- there is very little new stuff to be excited about nowadays- except maybe the black Keys or Dan Auerback. I will buy the Exile set and be happy at any table scraps that I may be able to find in this new mix. I am rediscovering blues and I am in the process of replacing my Jazz albums that some POS stole from my garage a few years back along with my Motown vinyl.
  16. While you are listening to your high end audio system in your comfortable house sipping on a cold adult beverage- please take a minute to pray for the safe return of the American Heros eating cold MREs in a sand pit wondering if they will see another 4th of July with their familes thousands of miles away. These are the best of the best. God bless them all.
  17. Drinking multiple Jack and cokes tonite. Getting ready to sear some fresh tuna on the chef's pan over some Boston lettuce. Pulled some 97 Californa cabs from my storage locker last week. Also some 2001/2002 Aussie Syrahs. Life is good. Cheers to all the bar buds- Happy 4th.Celebrate American freedom while we still can.
  18. I oid a fast cook on some baby backs lats nite using this sauce- 45 mins- weber charcoal- not as tender as the slow cook but still mighty fine.
  19. Man that just sucks. no other way to put it. sorry for your loss- hang in there
  20. Klipsch is a great company- no doubt. However the dealers are pathetic. A non responsive dealer who was too busy to return my phone calls pissed me off and caused me to look at a set of used cornwalls instead of new RF83s. I looked at the garage Friday night after not having my system for the week end. Saturday morning I got up and drove to Cigarbum's place in GA with cash in hand to buy a set of used Cornwalls. My profile will indicate a small fortune in used Heritage Speakers. They would have been new klipsch speakers of some type. So this dealer steered me in a completely different path costing klipsch about 12-15k in new sales. great product- terrible dealers- at least in my case.
  21. upgrade the hereseys to new stuff before you do anything Or sell both sets and buy some bigger heritage[6]
  22. anybody heard the vinyl yet? wonder if there is a box set with both?
  23. I think it is time to break out the waterboard. JK[]
