  1. OPPO can be picked up right and sounds great!
  2. I'm in the process of raising the ceiling in my home and sometimes it's not as difficult as it may seem. What is the general roof construction in that area of the home? Pitch, run, truss or stick frame?
  3. Besides choosing the best surround mode on your receiver, you may have to crank the center up more than you already have or back off your L&R. I typically run my RF 7's -5 and my RC 7 +5 for most movies.
  4. Have you considered selling the one you have and what you would pay for the second one and trying to pick up a better sub that would do the job for the same money invested? There's tons of deals on used gear out there now.
  5. Maybe you should send Dean one of them and have him do it and then you will have the correct reference to do the other one. Welcome to the forum.
  6. I understand your thinking on that point. Budman told me I could take a trip and hear all of his horns and I was afraid that I would want to buy all of it. There are those that own big horns and the others like us that will.
  7. When I first played with the one, the difference in the bass was noticible. How's everything on the coast? 15 years in S.C. 8 in Beaufort and missing it right now with the temp. in Ohio sitting at 30 this morning.
  8. If you get it and don't like it I'll give you 26 LOL
  9. Or you could ask about shoe, cloths and purse purchases, or just say you were thinking about changing hobby's like everyone at work and start going to strip clubs with your friends. If those don't work, I guess lock her in the garage ? PS.... Don't listen to Terry/ IB , he will get you in trouble for sure ! I told her I don't give a darn how many shoes or purses she buys, as long as it's her money, and then I said I can't talk right now, there's an auction going off. It's all good, she actually cranks it up herself once in a while.
  10. What model Sansui is that in the pic? I have a 8080 and a G5500, both great pieces
  11. That looks almost identical to my TX 890 that I still use and enjoy. Mine has tons of power and has fried a couple speakers in the past. For 20, you got a great deal if it's from the same series.
  12. Got rid of the wife 2 years ago, got back into audio about 1 year and 364 days ago. The girlfriend is starting to make comments about my purchases, and I told her I won't make the same mistake twice, but she's hot and I guess I could lock her in the garage.................LMAO
  13. I have been reading through many of the posts on bi amping, verticle bi amping, and bridging amps and really need some help. I have 3 Carver M200T amps and an Onkyo TX SR 805 and I thought I was going to bridge the Carvers to run as mono's to supply my RF 7's and RC 7 and let the Onkyo take care of the surrounds, but the more I read on the effects of some of the configurations, the more questions I have. My question is simple, I just need help with the answer. Given the equipment I have, what is the best way to configure the pieces to achieve the best results. I had done a simple test at one time when I only had one of the Carvers and bridged the amp to drive one of the RF 7's, while I used the Onkyo to run the other one and didn't seem to experience the horrible results that Dean G and some others had posted regarding a bridged stereo amp. That said, it was a short test and both of the speakers were running which may have just made it more difficult to hear (listening room was very small at the time too). Just looking for some help...........Thanks! BTW, I won't be offended if someone is of the opinion that I need to ditch the Carvers and go down a different path.
  14. I take it you're checking e-bay on a regular basis. You will see them from time to time, in fact I believe one just finished about a week ago.
  15. I'm also curious about using tubes on the highs and SS on the bottoms of the 7's. Any suggestions on the tube amps for the top end?
  16. Yup, got that base covered as well! (boy, you can difinitely see my Northern European roots in that one!) I've seen them five times now - actually became quite good friends with the band in the process. I just saw thier brand new album, The Days of Grays, on eMusic, which I am downloading right now (will then upload to my music server). Will have to do until I get a copy of the CD, but I am dying to hear this (only heard that one track on YouTube and the samples on eMusic). Sonata Arctica is currently one of my most favorite bands. I am so hoping and praying they come around and play at Jaxx again. Is that Will Farrell in the middle getting ready to do another movie?
  17. That's got to be sick I've run my rsw 15 with my velodyne 1512 and 2 10's in the RP 3's with rf 7's and it was overwhelming. Are you running everything through the subs and utilizing their crossovers? I'm not, just using the crossover controls in my onkyo to adjust what goes to the rf 7's. What have you found works best?
  18. I hope that this will be my first. Anyone else from NE Ohio or Western Pa. looking to go?
  19. I'm sure forum members will be reading your posts for years to come. They've helped me in the last year! Thanks Michael.
  20. I ran a dual center on the sides of a big screen and it worked great. At the time I was running 2 RB61's as centers. Just a thought. I actually thought about doing it with 2 RC 7's in my current set up, just have to find another 7.
  21. I haven't heard the Velodyne DD's, so I don't have an opinion as my Velodyne is an older 1512. I have listened to the Klipsch RT's and IMO, they don't hold a candle to the RSW's and as stated many times, today at least 3 or 4, I love my RSW 15, but it's all about what you like, not me or anyone else on the forum. Good hunting!
  22. I love my RSW 15 and think that in my listening/home theater room, it works brilliantly. I have listened to it and have owned a few others and auditioned SVS and also have a Velodyne and the RSW is the one that works for me. At the end of the day, it's all about you and when you turn it on and say to yourself, damn, that sounds good. I'm biased and I think it looks great too, but I have a ton of copper cones staring at me from every direction. I picked mine up, in pristine condition for $600, and short of it puking in the future, have no desire to look at anything else.
  23. And I haven't figured out how to post more than one pic at a time......lol, I'll just send them to you in an e-mail.
  24. Here's some Pics. I'm not a photographer.
