  1. It is deeply disturbing that you know this. No pictures please. That had me LOL for sure.
  2. Youthman, you do realize that you've put your son in a position where he'll never be able to own or listen to an average system? I guess that will also help motivate him to choose a path so he can earn a comfortable living and free up all the money it's going to take to replace his "bedroom system". What a DAD!

    Love my Tundra

I get between15.5 and 18 which I'm fine with but a lot of people report lower, but I think It has a lot to do with terrain and driving habits.
  4. Can't believe you don't have action on these yet. I'm sure you will soon.

    Love my Tundra

My Gm truck is 26 years old, but it is taken apart to be painted and I expect it to outlast me, but it does only have 45k miles and only pulls a trailer or goes to the hardware store. Glad you like the Toyota, had a little Toyota PU once , it was fun to drive and great gas mileage. I've owned 4 over the years, a couple of 1/2 tons that were both sold with over 200,000 and running great, a 3500 dually diesel that I sold to a friend with 330,000 that was also running great and my 2500 that at 275,000 was still plugging away but it was time for the motor to be rebuilt and many of the accessories weren't working properly, but again, no complaints, they served me well. I trust this one is going to do the same, as I normally drive my trucks for 7-12 years.

    Love my Tundra

I use to pull things with 2500 but my company has an F550 so I really don't need my truck to pull anything over a few thousand lbs. and that's rarely. It has the 5.7 and it's the most responsive engine I've ever had in a truck. I did hook up an equipment trailer weighing around 8,000 lbs. just to give it a run and it pulled it great, but would need to have trailer brakes put on for sure if that was going to happen frequently. I'm not going to do much to the truck, add a sway bar to the rear (it's a limited, not a TRD so none was standard), open the exhaust a bit and switch out some lighting. The stereo (JBL system) leaves a bit to be desired, but I'm obviously spoiled so I'm doing a little research and seems like the general opinion is that the head unit is the biggest problem and not the speakers themselves, but I need to keep digging into that and for now, it's OK.

    Love my Tundra

I was a GM guy for 30+ years and had to finally put my GMC 2500 down (RIP) and I picked up a Tundra which was truly difficult after all those years with GM, but after logging the first 10,000 miles in a Tundra, I just absolutely love this truck and that's no kick in the arse to GM,as they served me well over those years, but this is really fun to drive and still a great performing truck.
  8. Great deals indeed. I'm in Ohio, so driving isn't an option, but I understand about the shipping. If anything changes with regards to shipping, I would take the RSW, or if any member might be coming through your area and heading this way.
  9. Maybe I missed it, but does this have a tuner? I just had my Carver start acting up in my shop and this could fit the bill if it does. Thanks!

    What I Got Today!

I got a lesson today on sealed subs. Finally fixed my RSW15 that was out of service since January and epoxied the internal plug to the plate and sealed it up (dog ears broke off) plugged it in and everything was working fine until I jumped on it and I was amazed at how much air can be pushed out of the 2 little screw holes that held the plug in. She was whistling like I was calling a dog, but sealed them up and all is good.
  11. I've said "you're such a F-in idiot" out loud, but speaking to myself, too many times to count, but that comes with doing things yourself. On the bright side, you normally only do those things one time for that particular task and then the correct way is stuck in your brain for life.
  12. I thought that too, but the bottom third of the driver is over panel.
  13. Thanks! looks like an adhesive gasket so I guess I will just try to pry gently until I can get it started.
  14. I'm finally getting around to fixing this. (Yes, it's been a long time and I haven't been on the forum but life has been overwhelming this year) anyway.................pulled all the screws out of the rear driver (assuming I can access everything I need from there) and I've never pulled one of these RSW's apart...................are the drivers glued in? I really don't want to pry this out and damage the cabinet, so any of you who have done this, can you offer any suggestions? Thanks!
  15. Thanks Carl, I'm trying to find a 2 terminal so I don't have to replace the cord but that may not be available anymore. Everything I'm finding from Volex seems to be all three terminal so I guess I'll just spend a few more bucks and order. As always, thanks for the assistance. Hope all is well. Pete
  16. I recently had the plastic receptacle on the rear of my RSW 15 break apart when I plugged the unit back in after moving it. Does anyone know of a direct replacement for this part? Tried to search the site but couldn't find anything relevant. Thanks!
  17. Well stated. I didn't read through all the BS but I'm in Ohio and do business with a lot of people that are directly and indirectly involved with the oil and gas exploration that has been going on and I'm not a proponent of raising taxes to promote more out of control spending but placing an import tax on crude that would fluctuate with the price and go directly and 100% towards the building of infrastructure for domestic and North American oil and gas as well as refining, reserves and better technology would be a huge step in the right direction to counter what the Saudi's are doing and increase jobs, revenue, security and stability here. Just my opinion, I could be wrong. Have a wonderful day!
  18. I need something else to work on like I need a third eye. LOL, I have a great looking console that I purchased about 2 years ago that I have yet to pull apart and dive into that big black whole (tubes) so this needs to be a simple plug and play for the shop while I'm building cabinets and trying to finish all the other items on the list. I appreciate the input.
  19. Do you need volume control? Does it need to be stereo? What about phono stage? I need volume control. It needs to be stereo but doesn't have to have a phono stage.
  20. I'm looking for some opinions regarding some specific units that would be worth a listen. Good luck on your shopping adventure.
  21. I need to pick up another pre amp for an additional set up but I don't want to spend more than a couple hundred and if it's less, that's great. This is going out in the shop and I'm bringing the Carver CT7 inside for some reconditioning so this is for listening while working, nothing critical but a good tuner section is most important for this application. I'm just looking to give a listen to something different. Any suggestions?
  22. Couldn't agree with you more on that and there are very few albums from any artist that I can say that about, but, I have some little feet and some Dave Matthews........................getting off track again.
  23. Considering how cheap large storage is these days I rip everything in two formats, WAV for everything I'm going to play through the main systems and 192kps to load Denise's player that she listens to when exercising, so I've never really compared them because I never listen to the lossy.
  24. Have been a fan for a very long time. You need to give Supertramp a good listen too, there's just certain music that sounds fantastic with Klipsch/Horns and those are two of them.
