  1. It's cheezy, goofy, and cheap looking. I obviously do NOT get it. No way am I going to wear another freakin pair of glasses just to watch a movie in "3-D". To be honest for the past 30 something yrs I've avoided 3-D movies because it reduces the experience IMHO.
  2. Yes, some people actually "like" the sound of a tractrix horn. Some on the other hand have heard both and prefer the original heritage sound. Seems there is some give and take whatever path you choose.
  3. Yes......and when you go back to the original speakers with type A crossovers then you will have "gone full circle".[]
  4. Here is a link to the current story: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100715/ap_on_bi_ge/us_gulf_oil_spill
  5. A BP official said oil stopped flowing from a well in the Gulf of Mexico at 2:25 p.m. as testing began on a cap over the leak, the first time since the spill began in April.
  6. He bought the Yankees for 7 Mil. Wonder what that organization is worth today?
  7. I guess I don't see replacing "bad" caps in a speaker an upgrade. That's what I call required maintenance.[]
  8. That's it! Thanks Bill. I remember they have some really good prices.
  9. I haven't tried one but it looks like a fun little project putting together. My only concern is if the amp is really big enough to get the job done. I think you should go for it.
  10. What's the name of that other company that sells wire, connectors, etc? It's mono something or the other.
  11. Well Jimmy Buffett played a few songs for us this weekend. That sure was nice. I see BP is dropping a new hat on the well head today. Maybe it will work?
  12. Way to go. You're gonna love em! My favorite Klipsch speaker and the queen of the ball. Upgrade? Hell no. PWK knew what he was doing with those. All you have to do know is LISTEN.[]
  13. I occasionly still fly the RC helicopters. I have two that are 36" blade span. Suprisingly the jet or "ducted fan" planes not too bad to fly.
  14. Maybe the manager will say he's got to have $200 for em.[] If you decide not to buy, post the location of this "second hand store" and I'll bet somebody here will visit them real soon.
  15. I really like Derek Fisher. He has been a really good player for quite a while. That said, his defense is really dropping and that's the reason for the low offer from the Lakers. He kinda reminds me of "Big shot Bob" Robert Hory at this same point in his career. Great for coming in off the bench and hitting a few key shots during the game but really no longer a strong defensive player.
  16. I would suggest to carefully try prying out the speaker wire terminal cup on the back of the speaker or the port tube. Then with a small flashlight you might see "inside" for clues to get the rest of it opened up. If the cloth frame on the front of the speaker snaps off then simply removing a driver will get you there.
  17. Fini wrote, the product description says the nut should be M12 1.75
  18. In this type application self locking nuts are your friend.
  19. Self absorbed? No question about it. That said, all proceeds from that decision show went to the "Boys and Girls Club of America"
  20. Yeah really, Bill. What was I thinking? Of course I don't think any of us were "worried" too much about it though? [:|] Anyway, let's rush right back to the never ending migrane headache known as the "gulf oil spill".[8o|]
  21. Just got the word on this one. I guess winning a championship is more important that a paycheck? This move places him with D. Wade and Bosch making a very talented 3.
  22. Sounds like you really ended up with a big bang for your buck. Glad it all worked out for you. I did not know they made an optional eq. for those speaker. That's interesting.
  23. I saw all three of those bands too......30yrs ago. [:$]
  24. "If it has no roux, it's a soup." That's straight from my Cajun bride [6] Actually all you need to make great roux is a properly working oven! My wife makes roux the old fashioned stovetop way, buy my mother-n-law bakes it in the oven and it works out great. If interested I could probably cough up the recipe.[<)] When visiting my wifes family (Lake Charles, La) we hit the bayou for a while and go crabbing with chicken necks first. That's because for proper gumbo you need about a doz. cleaned blue crab bodies floating around the top of the gumbo pot!
