  1. That's because the MkII and beyond D.D. Technics are Quartz locked at zero. Earlier models and belt drives have just as much drift as other manufacters.
  2. Been there, done that, but no one still at the company is old enough to remember!LOL
  3. Looks like a "modded" version of one of the early Technics front firing Sub Woofers, but that's also just a guess, but don't see too many boxes that small, with that big of a port, unluss they are subs. The tweeter is mos def a home dun job, as no self respecting company would release that into the world. That said, if they sound good(to you) or even just because of memories, then they are quite valuable(to you).
  4. Only problem or not depending on how you look at it, is when you squish up someones trademarked "chevron", it can start to look a little "Trekie" (or is it "Treckery"?).
  5. Anyone here have background in real Cinema? I have a chance to grab some gear out of a closed theatre here, but am having a hard time finding info on some of the stuff. Main thing is some Cinemeccanica CP 40 mono amps, but would like to at least know some specs/year, before I pull the trigger. Still trying to convince him to sell the Altec V.O.T.'s(that he calls old junk mono speakers) , but he wants to sell them with the whole package with the projectors and that's not going to happen, for me at least. Grabbing up some seats this week though, at least one has had my butt in it many times before.
  6. Just a quick and very rough one today, more interested to see if the V&A do anything for you.
  7. Sorry was testing my Klipsch system here on the East coast, didn't think it would travel that far though! http://www.cfra.com/?cat=3&nid=69410
  8. That's right Michael, THERE ARE NO KLIPSCH IN ONTARIO!, please save yourself some pain and stop looking.[] There's certainly a lack of the KP or Industrial floating about, but I am personally trying to re-populate Ontario, one or two or three or four , pieces at a time. I can't live forever, so if you can outlast me, you'll be able to enjoy a massive flood of Klipsch in Ontario.
  9. Like the second one Josh, good work and thanks for taking some of the weight.
  10. Many a drummer would disagree with JHoman, as many a review and drummers I know that have heard them/own them, say the KG 4's are one of the closest they have heard, that sound like their kit. Perhaps it is a room size/placement/treatment issue for you, or you may like certain frequencies more prominent.
  11. If it is a low drain device that, is not used frequently, you are actually better off using the older, cheap, carbon based batteries. Same goes for the emergency flashlight in the drawer, etc. They will not corode like alkaline based ones and the shelf/unused life on them is longer. Haven't had enough time or experience with Lithium based or others, to say if they corode or store "in device" well.
  12. I am mainly a all ply guy, partly for reasons stated above, partly because I am into pro gear, but also just for crazy hippie style reasons, of feeling that woodgrain, through and through, has Soul and sawdust and glue(MDF), doesn't. Veneer, while beautiful is just as it sounds, a thin skin to cover up what is really underneath. Anyone that has ever done any woodworking, from that bowl in shop class to building a house, probably feels that same connection. Even the differences of using a axe over a chainsaw or hand tools over electric, there is a connection between you and the wood( No not that kind of wood!). *No substances were used during the creation of this post.
  13. La Scala's if you have the room for them. Have a set in a room close to that size and a pair of Heresy II's on the back corners and it sounds great to me. However, don't get rid of those KG 4's as I think they are something special in thier own right. What is it you find lacking with them and perhaps that will give us a better idea, as to what would work best for you?
  14. Well, aren't you guys a brutaly honest bunch! That's ok and that's why I like NYC so much, as no one says s**t just to make you feel good, they speak the truth. However that said, cut me a little slack along the way, as we are just throwing around ideas, not final products. Remember there is still some time and effort, being donated gratis, by a non-pro graphics guy, just to try and help a fellow Klipsch community member. So even though the truth and the whole truth, is helpful, try and keep it constuctive, if everyone is only saying what they don't like/hate, as opposed to what elements they do think work or could work, my motivation to continue trying is going to vanish rapidly. Marvel, you are correct, I am jumping a few steps and will go back to basics and try a variation of this design in simple, flat, black & white to see if it would do the trick on letterhead. Being a PS hack I tend to fall back to bevels, shadows and all the fun filters for dramatic effect, but have a web page saved on proper logo design that I'll review for the next round. Almost feels like work instead of just creative fun. [] Meanwhile, I think submissions would be more than welcome from anyone, but assume most of you have better and more profitable things to be doing.[]
  15. Once again, backgrounds are just toying about, so you can see how print ads would look. Lemme play around with this one a bit more, but have other ideas in the pipe(line) as well.
  16. Just playing with tag lines to see spacing and such, not so much suggestions, that's up to you and your VP of Marketing. Just edited and added a variation at the bottom of my last post.
  17. First of many, just ideas, not final products. Putting in the work for the Klipsch Community/Family. Feedback, suggestions welcome, especially from the guy who has to live with it/use it. Ebver so slight difference, just playing with heights andangles, but digging this one a bit more:
  18. This is why even though the Behringer Crossovers have the features I am after for a great price, I have not and probably won't purchase any more of their products. When they are working they work quite well, but when they fail, it is always in a big way and geting even 5 years out of any of their stuff, even with light and lovin' use, I have yet to acheive. Of course the price is often good enough to buy two(one back-up) for less than whatever design/model they are "borrowing", but I would rather go with used and quality, over new and disposable these days. When repairs cost more or close to the used price of the same unit, that tells me they are designed to fail.
  19. I am! Sorry just wrapped up with a few things at the moment, but have not forgotten and have some stuff worked out already.
  20. Package received, thank you! Wonder if it really would be "Heresy" if I used these on something other than a Klipsch product?LOL
  21. Perhaps he tired of discussions of the best ways to copy his designs, including people asking for his experise on how to best do it? Just a guess. Or perhaps, a new mandate from Klipsch about employee participation in non company related info threads as even Thump hasn't been as active, even prior to his current "Chinese Connection" mission. Or many are now sitting out awaiting for the day, the second coming of "The Colter".
  22. The TD 160 is great, 'specially the ones upgraded to any of the SME 3009 arms. With the right "tweaks", is right up there with the Linn LP 12 in my opinion, but then again I am the guy who has been punishing himself with extreme P.A. for 20+ years, so what do I know, or what can I still hear?LOL
  23. Although speaking of "things to do" lists, sent out those original crossovers?LOL
