  1. This is where I got it: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/archived-flash-player-versions.html#main_Archived_versions ( Scroll down to the archived versions )
  2. I was too young to understand why Dad bought a color television to watch that black and white picture. By the time Apollo 14 landed a couple of years later I was hooked. Who didn't want the Apollo lunch box and to drink Tang everyday? Neil Armstrong was and still is a hero.
  3. ...bye bye Miss American Pie Drove my Chevy to the levee, but the levee was dry. Them good ol' boys were drinking whiskey and rye singing...this'll be the day that I die This'll be the day that I die
  4. February made me shiver With every paper I'd deliver Bad news on the doorstep I couldn't take one more step I can't remember if I cried When I read about his widowed bride But something touched me deep inside **The day the music died** So bye bye Miss American Pie Drove my Chevy to the levee, but the levee was dry Them good ol' boys were drinking whiskey and rye, singing...
  5. I really look forward to hearing about your results! I don't know the math... What values would I need if I wanted xover at 500 and 5800? edit: whoops! my bad... i've got old B networks, not B2s.
  6. I was looking at changing the caps on stock B2s with Jupiters but they don't make a 2uf or 4uf which is what is in there now. 1uf 100VDC 1.86 x 1.86 x .8 $65.00 1.5uf 100VDC 1.86 x 1.86 x .85 $69.00 2.2uf 100VDC 1.86 x 1.86 x .92 $75.00 3.3uf 100VDC 1.86 x 1.86 x 1.25 $94.00 4.7uf 100VDC 1.86 x 1.86 x 1.8 $105.00 5.0uf 100VDC 1.86 x 1.86 x $108.00 6.8uf 100VDC 1.86 x 1.86 x 2.33 $126.00 8.0uf 100VDC 1.86 x 1.86 x 2.55 $135.00 10uf 100VDC 1.86 x 1.86 x 3.05 $155.00 12uf 100VDC 1.86 x 1.86 x 3.67 $169.00 15uf 100VDC 1.86 x 1.86 x 4.55 $199.00 They have a 1, 1.5, 2.2, 3.3, 4.7 and bigger. These are WAY too expensive to combine to get the value you want. I heard these used on some JBLs and knew that I wanted to try them in the Cornwalls. How else are you modifying the B2s?
  7. but it hasn't happened yet!? [] Seriously, some things are just bad sportsmanship and not what I would call cheating per se. I remember warning a kid on the football field what was going to happen to him if he persisted in his actions... he found out I was serious. I guess I was a bad sport too! Ahh good times! Sports are not just a game anymore... they are big money which certainly gives incentive. I don't know how you teach integrity other than trying your best to show by example. I know I fail sometimes but my father showed me better. Golf is certainly a game that simply does not work without a certain level of integrity of the players. The pros are watched pretty closely with all the cameras but the rest of us certainly are on our own to be honest and follow the rules.
  8. Would you mind showing some more pictures of the whole back and the inside? I'm curious how it differs from my 67's. Very cool! and thanks for sharing!
  9. I really like this receiver! Certainly worth a full recap if you haven't done it! Get it working though... but I'm no help with that. If you don't find the help you need here then Audiokarma has quite a few Yamaha nuts (a compliment) who really know what they are doing. ManyMoonsAudio rebuilt some Yamaha equipment for me... I've been quite happy with his work.
  10. I think ACM went for the best bang for the buck with his choices. The Fastrac will give you a big improvement IMO. Next steps would be ALK cornscala-wall networks and then Crites CT125 tweeters. You will no longer have economy speakers but they will sound soooooooo good! You can set the fastrac on top if you are timid about cutting into your motorboard. I'm leaving mine on top so I can put them back to original if I choose.
  11. I talked to Terry on Sunday but he is pretty backed up right now. He had done some work for me before on a HK-930 and I would not hesitate to send more work to him! Nice guy to talk to as well! Look forward to hearing from you Mark. Thanks for your help!
  12. I was the seller of this and I want to make this right for Tra. Mark has been good support via email but I am in need of a good tech to have work on the BBX. Even if is something simple I think it should have a complete check up! Any tube tech suggestions?
  13. Hey... fiber is good for you right? Stay away from the treated stuff though!
  14. Cool! I spent a fair bit of time there TDY. Bought a lot of records from Tops Pop Shop (or something like that) in Kaiserslautern. Mike Well at least your TDY's were to a nice place. I only volunteered for one TDY and never did it again as I was coming off a graveyard shift Nov. 20th 1978 (we were at the armory clearing our weapons) when a Major comes into the clearing room and says he needs 8 volunteers for a TDY mission and they were not giving details just taking volunteers. Next thing you know is it's 9:45 and me and 7 others are on a C-141being debriefed that we are on our way to Jonestown, Guyana to clean up after one of the craziest things I've ever witnessed in my life and hope to never witness again! We worked for a full week tagging, bagging and loading suicide victims of a crazy man, it was so bad many worked with their gas mask on my choice was an Old Spice soaked bandana I still dream of this place ever now and again and my wife says I shake in my sleep from it Sorry about my departure from the thread topic folks! Looks like you put a nice first setup together Mike, like you I sure wish I had my old Pioneer back and really I wish I had kept that entire system, more of that 20/20 hindsight Wow! Never stopped to think about people having to clean up after that mess! Thank you for your service!
  15. If I had a Mapleshade rebuilt Scott I think I would send it to Craig to have him reconnect the tone circuit. My understanding from their advertising is that they bypass that section which is where some of the "magic" lives IMHO!
  16. Will you be changing your forum name to finallygotmylascalas?
  17. ooo! ooo! Mr Carter! I know this one! Whatever sounds good to you! The location and spacing will make a difference and you just have to try both and see what is right for you. I found I could like it fine either way but how much I rotated them inward varied depending if I had the horns on the outside or inside. Mine were closer together than I would have liked so I put the horns on the outside. Very unscientific perhaps but trial and error can be part of the fun.
  18. I paid too much but I installed speakercraft CRS 8.2 in-ceiling speakers in a screened in porch about 12 years ago. They have held up well. These were not outdoor speakers but I decided to chance it at the time. They don't get exposed to rain but they certainly see all temperature and humidy extremes. Now, understand the sensitivity of these is 90db and they don't sound as good as any Klipsch I have. Works fine along with hot nights and cold drinks.
  19. Nice! Keep the pictures coming! [Y]
  20. The color of cherry (heartwood) will change drastically over time and depending on exposure to light. This can be almost unnoticable as it occurs slowly. One tree can be different from another as well. Cherry has a high degree of variability and they have to be careful when selecting veneer so that they don't have 2 speakers that look totally different. I have no idea what stains Klipsch may have used over that time. Maybe they used heartwood on one and sapwood on the other. I prefer all heartwood and no stain on cherry... just a good sanding and clear laquer.
  21. Gulp! I was upset about breaking a brand new KT88 the other day... I'd better never touch one of these!
  22. My understanding is that when ripping to FLAC with EAC (Exact Copy) the settings for bitrate do nothing. You can't select bitrate for FLAC. I would say that your ears are working perfectly! I like the little WD Passport drives... 1 TB around 125 -135 on Amazon. I like that they are so portable and don't require a separate power supply. I suggest keeping at least 2 backups of all your music! I copy to another computer, the external drive, and use an online backup service.
