  1. I was wondering why the lt1300 amp was out of stock for at least the last 4-6 months that would explain it I was considering another sub from them later down the road so this is disappointing news
  2. the 10" cone might have more surface area than 1 6.5" but not 6 of them, they also have higher power ratings but regardless they aren't designed for the lows I was just tinkering with music one day mostly 40-80hz and switching between the rw10d and my 83s powered with the xpa2, simply stated two different ballparks which leads to the 63s playing near the big leagues and the sw110 just getting passed tee ball, its really an entry level sub thats just not designed to keep pace klipschs mid to higher end general rule of thumb if possible try to spend as much on a sub as you do your mains, I think a sub 800-1200 (new) would be a pretty good fit if you can find a 64 first that should make a nice difference
  3. Whats your source for the xpa2 and 5? I'd look around with your settings and start tweaking if your source doesn't offer enough options it'll be alot less expensive buying a new source...you could grab a xmc when they release. Rooms treatments may be another option that could help. Not sure how tight up your speakers are but bring them out as well, mine are around 12-18" out, I can safely say I spent a heck of alot of time in settings on eq and crossovers to get it where I think is right With 2 ultras and the right source equipment you will be able to make any speaker shine [Y]
  4. If you click over on tab from their product description you'll see their spec sheet, they more or less have a cookie cutter description on all of their products, heres where you need an informed person or dealer on their products... FREQUENCY RESPONSE: 28Hz-120Hz ± 3dB As a comparision your towers are rated at 30hz...a few years ago 20hz was the magic number you wanted a sub rated down to, now thats sometimes even not enough but for most people it still is, but with rf63s you definitely want a very capable sub The SW-110 is similiar to the rw10d, I had a 10d in my setup when testing out for a relative, its a nice little inexpensive sub but its going to be way to little when you start getting into the movies. When you get an amp on your speakers your going to be asking if the subs doing anything at all, its possible you get more bass from your towers already if you set them to full. On a realisitc level my suggestion for a sub if you stay with klipsch would be the sw-115 to keep up with your setup, otherwise internet direct companies would be a great way to go to get more for your money, quite a few of us have chosen this route. The sw115 is the only real id competition in terms of price / preformance The kv-2 is also next on the list, grab a rc62 / 64 when you get the chance, I had sold a kv 2 and had listened to it in the same room as my 64 with same equipment. Night and day...the rc62/64 will give you a more seemless transition and not be trailing in the dust. If you just purchased the sub / receiver see what your dealer can do for you just simply let them know they aren't up to the task Or if you can get enough on resale go that route, the umc is a nice addition if you can but isnt an instant plug and play, it needs a little extra tweaking over some receivers, a emotiva upa-7 you could find used from time to time or upa-xpa 2/5 combo, if your going to spend 500 or more on a receiver and intend on adding amps later its a good idea to look into preamps and amps right away, it'll probably save you money My .02
  5. why not go straight to a pre/pro since you have plans on getting an amp? then my suggestion would be a emotiva umc / xpa-5 combo, only 1400 for the two and you dont need to get an amp later then unless you expand to 7 channels, you could however upgrade to the xmc later on otherwise receivers choices vary wildly on what options you wish to have, imo most receiver options really seem to be fluff now just to keep prices up and welcome to the forum
  6. I had a chance to listen to the 7.2 650 setup from a dealer when I was picking my rs62s up, meh...if I was starting from scratch and had a dedicated room I'd consider them only with 100% movies 0% muisc, I couldn't beleive they wanted 3 grand for just the subs after that I didn't bother wanting to know what the speakers cost...but with what you have already I think money maybe better spent on adding an additional sub or going bigger that way, also add another set of bookshelves for rear Another thought is if you can add a false wall then try adding a 3rd rf7ii that would be my route of choice as well as adding another sub and bookshelfs [6]
  7. attached is a desktop image I modified to remove some subs that have no real competitiveness for what your likely looking at, the original can be viewed here https://docs.google.com/viewer?a=v&q=cache:2r4cDsyh3jAJ:www.audioholics.com/reviews/speakers/subwoofers/sb12-nsd-subwoofer/Audioholics%2520Excel%2520compilation-061212.pdf+fv15hp+vs+pb13+ultra&hl=en&gl=us&pid=bl&srcid=ADGEESjoZ9PjvtYD61Ak6GKiIW8oV93GqRyztWasi32Ru07Jz8msjreVMeE8TJm_t5ABk7Sm4CBgQ6MJNwfSxy5ONX8eBtSd0lRmZmys134VNW9Myv2uqwX6Ftt2KlcfJjNlgsKYxEQy&sig=AHIEtbQEv1gct4kJ1Y9J6T8OG8K_eHBnzA I left the klipsch sw311 in there for fun, youll notice the velodyne dd18 has no green marks meaning it did not score highest in any area, the rythmik is pretty much on par with the svs here
  8. I was thinking the same thing reading page one and seeing the pictures, they do look pretty close to the wall epik empire, elemental designs probably the a5-350 for your space, rythmik audio would be another one if your looking to go neck and neck with the svs output, I've owned 2 svs subs and always wanted the 13 ultra but never could pull the trigger on it just to much for me to spend when others preform similiar
  9. we got about a half hour of sprinkles the other day....this is definitely a dry one even up here
  10. The pioneer elites at least were leading the charge, I cant believe how much people sell them for on 2nd hand especially now that the new displays have come so far. It simply created a strong brand loyalty and since they sold their technology to panasonic I'd gladly pay half as much for new Both lexicon and the bose stories are news to me, not that I would buy either A foole & his money, be soone at debate: which after with sorow, repents him to late.
  11. I'd stay with center channels in most cases unless your doing top end tower speakers, a rc62 should be fine but if you have doubts and dont want the upgrade bug again just get the 64 it'll sound fantastic and youll have no regrets, the sound will match just fine
  12. that 2nd picture is just awesome....someones already plotting[8-)]
  13. why not try updating the firmware first? or if its on the new firmware just relfash it and do it again
  14. We had some baby robins last year nesting in one of the trees outside the house. We have 2 dogs both english springers and very fast, they love birds, I never took them hunting but they will chase low flying birds as fast as they can through the yard. Long story short I go to let the dogs out in the very early morning to do their business and they both take off in a dead sprint 20 ft away. 2 baby birds must have been learning how to fly and the adult bird was circling and dive bombing the dogs and myself. The younger dog ended up catching one bird before I could say anything and finished it off, at least I was able to call them off of getting the 2nd one. The mother bird ending up circling for around and calling for a good day or two and would dive bomb anyone in the backyard until it figured it out.
  15. We only got about half way through before the 2 year old couldn't sit still anymore, the 5 year old and myself we're glued to watching it, definitely blew my expectations away

    RC 64

If I'm understanding this correct your planning on putting a 1k or 2k amp onto a entry level speaker, to be honest it would have no worthwhile benefit for the rc52, the old line being discontinued or not it'll still sound better, I'd upgrade the speakers first, I'm not sure any klipsch speaker can really use the xpr to its full benefit since its a crazy power amp on incrediably efficient speakers, fun to try no doubt, you cant even turn them halfway with a xpa []
  17. cheaper than cable by far, but we ran out of movies quickly again... if it wasn't for the childrens cartoons keeping the little ones entertained netflix would be long gone for the 3rd time
  18. Definitely to hot to let all of those goods cook up for a week, just our garbage alone in the garage is terrible with the little kids diapers. A handful of years ago when I was still renting I had moved closer to a new job. It's summertime just like now only not quite as hot, without the air on the upstairs would reach 100-110 on any given summerday. We finish loading up the uhual, lock everything up, and head off to the new place. 3 weeks go by and I get a call from the previous landlord saying there was a horrible smell coming from the apartment we had vacated. We still had keys and were going to do a final cleanup the last week so no big deal told him I'd take a look and see. We drive back out to the old place and having a walkout porch and steps to a bedroom I go up that route, to my suprise I can smell something terrible 15 ft away from the house walking up. As I get to the door to unlock it I have to put my shirt over my face to try to avoid sniffing in the worst odor I've ever dealt with. I open the door and see quite litterly 1000s of flys everywhere and am overwhelmed by the odor. I quickly shut the door as I am gagging and nearly puking. I run out to the car to grab some garbage bags and cleaners that I had brought along and quickly realize that I may have come underprepared. Luckily I had some cologne in a box in the backseat of the car as well and zap a few shots under my shirt as to further mask the smell and pull it above my face. I proceed back up the stairs and quickly open half of the windows before I am overwhelmed again and have to run outside for fresh air. I run back to get the rest of the windows and upon running into the kitchen notice the freezer door is wide open and the flys are in there the most. I look into the freezer and notice ooze everywhere in there along with on the floor and on the opposite wall nearly 15ft away has spots all over. I can see maggets crawling all over inside the freezer and when I open up the fridge they are in there as well. I ran back outside to get some gloves and garbage bags for the oozey puddle and exploded bags of which I couldn't quite figure out what they were until picking them up and letting the ooze fall off of them. 2 turkeys probably 10-15lbs each had been left in the freezer and had exploded sending the liquid cocktail in every direction, my guess the first one blew the door open and the second one made the real splatter in the kitchen. It seems during the move someone unplugged the fridge and I was just going to throw the turkeys out during the cleanup. Hours turn into a full day trying to cleanup the mess. The fridge gets left with such a bad odor through its entire guts that it needs to be disposed of. Beleive it or not they still had downstairs tenants in this building. I cant' imagine someone staying anywhere near that building when I was gagging outside of it.
  19. when you shop around and compare in stores all of the tvs are set to torch mode anyway, I find it impractical to really compare in store, truth be told you cant tell the difference between any of them because all of there settings are so far off agreed with plasmas being a great bang for buck the pq is excellent although my 2 year old plasma reflects like crazy but another brand I had didn't at all, the new ones dont seem to glare much and the pq on them is just crazy now, everything has trade offs, personally I can't stand the over saturated and artifical look the lcds and leds give you, not to mention after being used to plasma you can see how bad many of the lcd/leds ghost images, if they aren't for you then they just aren't but do yourself a favor and take a unbiased look at the panasonic st/gt/vt 50's or 30's or samsungs 7000/8000
  20. marantz 1st and h&k 2nd would be my brand recommendations

  22. The blurays definitely look and sound just as good if you rip them right, and they dont need to be 50gb, large storage is pretty cheap now also put the disc in once and never have to use it again, no worrying about damage, no noise from spinning, who really buys a 500 dollar bluray player to pirate movies? I think its disappointing they removed the iso support as well as anti consumer to offer a product with certain features only to lose your features if you ever want to maintain updates to address any other issues, not suprising seeing sonys trend on the ps3 and other products, oh well my pc hooked up to the tv plays the files just as easily
  23. for 50 bucks more you can usually find the rw12d for sale as well
  24. looks like she'll still be around?
  25. You should find another setting in there to raise the db levels of individual sets of speakers, it will be somewhere near you other settings like speaker distance and frequency, you can raise the center up a few notches this way, some centers just dont have a super crisp detail and some receivers make speakers react poorly, I hated my yamaha with klipsch If that setting doesn't exist for some reason I'd certainly look at upgrading
