  1. You were right. Fantastic movie. I'm going to buy it tomorrow. ------------------ My hodge-podge of equipment Denon AVR-2800 KG-4 mains (too bad the rest of my speakers aren't this good) Polk C-175 center (it's ok) Infinity RS-10 Surrounds (suck) Audiosource SW-15 subwoofer (excellent sub for it's price) Pioneer DV333 DVD Sony 5 disc CD player All in a 12x12 apartment bedroom. "What?! I can't hear you!"
  2. Hmmm, mine have the same problem. I've also had problems with the old drivers buzzing even though I've never applied any bass to them. I'm the 2nd owner so I assumed they had a hard life before I got them, but one started going bad a few months ago and I've had them for over a year. Only 2 left to replace when they decide to quit. I'll deal with it. 3. I played golf once. Shot 77 over I did hit onto the green on a par 3 in one shot. I then proceeded to hook my next tee shot over 3 fairways. Game is too hard for me. ZR1's are sweet automobiles indeed. A little too much $$$ for me though. I'm looking into a used f-body, but it must have a 6 speed and t-tops. No V6's though.
  4. Make sure you put polyfill (sp?) in that sub! Open it up and you'll see what I mean. It will take away the boominess. Also, the placement of the sub is critical. Move it around to find it's sweet spot. You shouldn't have to set the gain past around 10 o'clock and the crossover point is up to you. I set mine at ~80 Hz. I have all my speakers set at 0 bass and 0 trebble and the sub fills in nicely. Also, the output of this sub is far greater on movies than music (at least for me it is) so don't use your music settings the same as your DVD settings. 5. That was a cool story. 6. If it hadn't been for the fact I got my Denon for $300 new and I have nowhere to put a 6th channel, I would've gotten the Outlaw. I convinced my dad to get one and it is nice. Remember, a lot those online stores don't have warranties (or they say they do and don't back up that statement) and the Outlaw does. Plus the customer service at Outlaw is top-notch. They'll replace the unit at any signs of problem. The Denon 2802 has Dolby Pro-logic 2 and the Outlaw doesn't. The Outlaw has variable crossover (can't remember if this was for the sub only, can someone chime in?) and the Denon doesn't. Otherwise they are similar. 8. I'm an avid fan of Outlaw, I convinced my dad to get one, but I don't necessarily see it as an upgrade from a Denon 2802. The variable crossover is nice, but that's about all it has over the Denon. Sound is pretty much identical to my ears. Pretty much the same whistles and bells. If your friend offers you a good price for the Denon and you feel the need for something new, go for it. If you were just starting out and were to choose between the 2, I'd say go Outlaw. $499 (same price still, isn't it?) is a steal for a piece like that. Best horror movie?

13 Ghosts is horrible. Haven't seen Jeepers Creepers or Re-Animator yet. 10. Am I the only one who despised that movie? I'm still trying to figure out why anyone liked it. I'm not entirely too critical when it comes to movies, but I just couldn't wait for this one to be over. Denons hiss?

In my set up - the hiss is clearly there in all the DPL II, DTS, DD and DSP settings. In all of these the hiss becomes evident (no source and listening very closely) around -2db. Only clearly hisses around 0db. This is way loud and is an OK thing for me right now. I am at 75db around -12db. >>2. In stereo (and less so in 5/7 channel stereo) it can get to nothing in all but CD, where a slight hiss appears at 10db. In my setup - I only can go to 16db in stereo and 9db in most dsp. >>It only ccurs in very loud volume levels that I will not be using.>>>>> As I said - this happens at way too loud a volume for me to notice, and yes I have seen it on many excellent quality recievers. Ditto here with mine. Hissing at extremely high volume levels with no source playing. Never heard hissing once when playing material though. 16. Well, Aaliyah (Sp?) and the lady who played the oracle were both slated to be in the sequels but passed away. That may have something to do with them being delayed. I'm anxiously awaiting the new movie also. Superbit DVDs

Boa: Best Buy I read an article comparing the Superbit vs. regular DVD's. The Fifth Element was most improved both audibly and visually. Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon it said was not any better than the original. The others were somewhere in between. I think it also said most people couldn't tell the difference between the two, and they (writers) had to strain just to see much difference. Supposedly The Fifth Element was the only one worth the extra money. Don't know about the audio rates between the versions though, sorry. 20. I have the same problem with my setup. H/T has some slammin bass, but music never has quite the bass I need. Turning up the bass on the receiver doesn't help much either. I think all Denon's lack enough bass for us bassheads. My suggestion? Use the H/K as an amp to run your speakers. 21. Why must it be ear buds? I like my ear-bud headphones(I have no idea what they are called) that have earbuds attached to a headband. I find them more comfortable. I have the Sony MDR-W08. 23. Ahhh, the Corvette Forum. All I ever hear about them is the John Hennessey controversy.
  24. hahaha, 13.45 in a Lincoln. That thing better be heavily modified. It might do 13.45 in the 1/8th though. The best bang for the buck IMO, is the LS1. 25. I've been a member of many bulliten boards, and this one is by far the best. I have learned more about home audio from this forum than any other I have visited, and the members here are top notch. I knew one day that the trolls would invade, but I didn't think it would be so soon. This saddens me greatly. I have to deal with trolls on a daily basis on other boards and when I come to the Klipsch forum I look forward to seeing great posts and civil arguements.
