  1. Really beautiful work , but is that not now a CornScala with that large mid-horn ?
  2. That Pio should work nicely for you the Elites have the best power per channel driven ( IE; they don't drop off wattage like most all the other AVR's do when pushing 5+ channels )
  3. the amp debate is Very polarizing to some people , here is my story & my take moving forward , after spending $2K+ on a flagship AVR when I added 7 channels to that expensive AVR ,the SQ suffered big time when I added 9 channels it was un-listenable at all with my newly added channels my system sounded like a radio shack boom box added 9 channels of Emo amps (UPA-7 & UPA-2 The older style 125 watts per channel minimum wattage out put ) things were Fantastic in the SQ & then that $2K+ AVR failed on me My amps let me move to a middle range AVR that had all the features of that $2K+ flagship AVR also most all PRE/PRO processors are priced right up there with the flagship AVR's . by moving to mid level AVR with full features & Pre-outs , I now can change up the processing much cheaper now when the new Codecs , HDMI specs, UltraHD, improved Audyssey,DTS,Dolby listening modes come down the pike AND Oh Yes they are about to change again as they always do every 3 to 4 years . now that I have the amps , as they will last for decades , all I have is fraction of replacement costs over a flagship AVR when I do adjust for the Newest Tech that hits the market .
  4. I built a horizontal CS-1.5 & it worked great I am now building a horizontal CornScala with Dave's Eliptrac horn as long as you get the drivers to fit the motor board you can make up lost cubic volume by extending out the back of a speaker IE : by making the cab deeper & having the smallest square inches in area for the motorboard that just fits the drivers ports can placed there as well as you can go round ports & tune with the lenght of the tube Dave worked out the port tuning for me with 2 3" ports that are just below the horn you can do that with a CornScala design as there is no need for a folded horn center in a HT system this set-up will/would work great with Khorns or any of the folded horn Heritage speaks
  5. Now that you've had them up & running can you comment on your feelings about the speakers ? ?
  6. those are insane ! OverKill to the Max is that 3 woofers in those horns ?
  7. I quit doing midnite pushes for that exact reason But we do what we gotta do . . . . [] The Cabs look superb !!
  8. I hope that when I am of that age I would be able to marry who I wanted & my family would accept my wishes unconditionally . A happy man lives longer , keep that in mind .
  9. will the CT-125 work with a stock Cornwall II crossover ? ? ?IIRC Bob's CT-125 will surface mount on a CW II I surfaced mounted CT-125's on my CW I cabinets when I did them as CornScala mods works quite well I M O you have to detach the horn from the driver & then mount the horn & then spin the driver back on the horn from the inside of the cabinet you have to be careful NOT to cross thread the horn , but can be done very easy
  10. horns are the complete opposite of that advice , horns are not meant to be bouced offa the walls
  11. you need to angle those surrounds down to where the horns are aimed at your listening positions they will sound much better when you do
  12. OK , That's Very Telling I'm VERY Happy with my 9 ,I will say they are amazing Horns !
  13. Wow after I get 9 horns done , you spring this on me Dave L O L
  14. Moray ThanX for the links , lotsa reading to do ! You Are The Man !
  15. How so Dave ? ? assembly or sanding ? ? OR R they harder to produce ? ? they are Real PuurtY hey Dave , have you ever tried using solid 3/4" boards ?
  16. lowest end that will do 9 channels in that model year
  17. I agree with Moray on stiffing up the cabinets I ddb walled my Corns & the bass response improved
  18. Mongo here on the forum no longer uses a AVR at all he uses his Oppo 105, amps & loves it
  19. I run 9 channels all very large Heritage style speakers 9 channels of amplification allows me to use either a pre-/pro OR a Mid priced AVR ( not having to buy a flagship AVR ) amps last decades , while the tech behind modern sound & audio codecs changes , as well the delivery systems of each ( think HDMI & how mant times that has changed in the last 5 years ) Having my amps already allows me to change AVR & /or a processor at a lower cost due being able to buy mid priced AVRs or processors I now use a Onkyo TX-NR1009 as a pre/pro & that replaced a TX-NR5008 AVR the cost difference was $1500.oo ( I up-graded due to the hughly improved Video dual processors in the 1009) that money saved each time you buy a mid priced AVR pays for the amps the 1st go around & the 2nd go around that might be savings that go into a newer display .
  20. No , you can use say a XPA-3 amp to run your mains & center & then use the onboards to run the backs & surrounds
  21. if you can do that then do a better transition from driver to horn than that mount you use seems to me the current mount has that tube that can't be good for the SQ might it be better if the horn started right at the mouth of the driver ??
  22. All audio equipment MFGers "Fudge" on specs I M O
  23. a claim can be taken back at any time But you only have a small window to file once that passes your outta luck I myself have 100% rating also filing a claim is NOT a bad OR negative feedback . the claim protects your status to get your money back . Once you file the claim the guy will settle Really unless you have some personal tie to this guy , you owe him nothing at all , he owes you he needs to stand up to his claims of having the warranty IF not then get your money back he is trying to string you along until the PayPal time period for a claim has passed . file the claim & THEN deal with him . what good is it to use PayPal if you are not going to take the buyer protection they offer . the longer this goes the more fishy his story will get
  24. start with opening a claim 1st thing because he's gonna try to pace this out till you have no time left then negotiate with him ' you can withdraw a PayPal claim anytime short of getting the full refund you will win the paypal no matter what , he didn't live up to the contract end of story , but cover yer butt 1st
