  1. Great deal! Thers are only two things better than Scala's, Khorns and S%$. Not necessarly in that order. ------------------ http://gallery.consumerreview.com/webcrossing/images/MYSTUFF.jpg
  2. I'm in shock!! I really think you'll like the Scala's. Contrary to what you have heard they do have bass, but the bass is tight, fast and accurate. Not vibrate your butt, drums sound like drums. To tame the highs I position mine slightly off axis in the corners of the room. They are different than any other speaker (except Khorns). If you listen to live music and then listen to Scala's it sounds the same. Vocals are uncanny, too real. They are not kind to bad recordings. ------------------ http://gallery.consumerreview.com/webcrossing/images/MYSTUFF.jpg
  3. OK, I'm a SS freak but all of this tube talk has me wondering what I'm missing. Anyone know any thing about this receiver? It's on Ebay (I'm "bigolhorns". I just might venture into tubes. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1357736019 ------------------ http://gallery.consumerreview.com/webcrossing/images/MYSTUFF.jpg
  4. While working on my home theater room I droped a sheet of wall board on my toe. The bone in my big toe is crushed and the Dr. says I have to stay of it for 6 weeks! I did finish the walls before it hurt so bad I went to the Dr. I sent my wife to get paint (black) for the walls and she comes back with a light blue/gray! I need you guys to help me convince my wife that black walls are ok. I still need to install the acoustic ceiling tiles, paint the walls and install the carpet. I guess for the next six weeks or so I'll just sit back and listen to the Scala's ------------------ http://gallery.consumerreview.com/webcrossing/images/MYSTUFF.jpg This message has been edited by mpgwagon on 06-01-2002 at 11:01 AM
  5. "P" is 1976. ------------------ http://gallery.consumerreview.com/webcrossing/images/MYSTUFF.jpg
  6. I'm hearing the "Dented Cone" issue come up far too often. What's up with this anyway? You should be able to touch a speaker cone and not damage it. This has to be making the Klipsch people really nervous. ------------------ http://gallery.consumerreview.com/webcrossing/images/MYSTUFF.jpg
  7. VOT's I've never heard them but I've always wanted a pair. They just have a look that I like. I like Big Ol Horns! I get really tempted by some of the VOT's on Ebay. ------------------ http://gallery.consumerreview.com/webcrossing/images/MYSTUFF.jpg
  8. 1. What Heritage speakers have you owned, currently own, or want to own? Own: La Scala's. Want 3 Heresy's for HT 2. What was your age when you first purchased a Heritage series loudspeaker? 24 3. What is your current age? 50 4. Why did you choose Heritage loudspeakers over another Klipsch model? I also own KG's and SF's. But...Nothing beats them "bigolhorns" 5. If you currently own some Heritage loudspeakers, and could purchase some more Klipsch speakers(new or used), which ones would you purchase? Why? Heresy's for Home Theater 6. Do you think the upcoming Jubilee should become part of the "Heritage" line, since it was also designed by PWK? Yes ------------------ http://gallery.consumerreview.com/webcrossing/images/MYSTUFF.jpg
  9. I'm starting on my HT room. I'll be using my Scala's as fronts and Heresy's as rear and center speakers. The room is 12'X15'x7'. I'll be using acoustical tile in the ceiling. Any problems with this room size? I have bought "Theater" (whatever that is) carpet but no pad yet, should I have a pad? ------------------ http://gallery.consumerreview.com/webcrossing/images/MYSTUFF.jpg
  10. deang loves this! RF7's must be the best, cause that's what he has. My SF1's are the best, no it's my KG's,no it's my Scala's. I give up I like em' all.... but nothing beats fully horn loaded or any Heritage. Bottom line: If it says "Klipsch" it's OK in my book! ------------------ http://gallery.consumerreview.com/webcrossing/images/MYSTUFF.jpg
  11. This is easy! Khorns #1. Closest speaker to the Khorns is the La Scala/Belle. Cornwall is #3. Quote from the Klipsch page says it all: "The Heritage Series La Scala three-way loudspeaker provides a very Klipschorn®-like performance with sparkling highs; extreme output, yet smooth midrange; and the unsurpassed low distortion bass response of the patented Klipsch folded-horn woofer. Utilizing the same horn-loaded drivers used in the Klipschorn® and Belle Klipsch, the La Scala is highly efficient and can produce high volumes with very little power and undetectable distortion. The La Scala effectively unveils the recorded musical information, enabling you to hear the intricate detail and emotional response of the artist." ------------------ http://gallery.consumerreview.com/webcrossing/images/MYSTUFF.jpg
  12. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I feel the La Scala is one of the best looking speakers ever designed. When they are stained with an oak stain they are beautiful. ------------------ http://gallery.consumerreview.com/webcrossing/images/MYSTUFF.jpg
  13. Oh No. I feel I have lost a true friend. I never met Paul, but sitting in my listening position I see the name Klipsch on 13 different items. Paul, thanks for all the pleasure you have given me. My Scala's will play all day for you and your family. ------------------ http://gallery.consumerreview.com/webcrossing/images/MYSTUFF.jpg This message has been edited by mpgwagon on 05-05-2002 at 12:52 PM
  14. The King of the hill are back! "Make No Excuses" says it all! ------------------ http://gallery.consumerreview.com/webcrossing/images/MYSTUFF.jpg
  15. Very nice! Klipsch should offer stuff like this. I love this kind of thing. I just bought two of the "Stolen from Paul Klipsch" mugs on Ebay. They will sit on top of My Scala's. ------------------ http://gallery.consumerreview.com/webcrossing/images/MYSTUFF.jpg
  16. For the money the Synergy's can't be beat. For Home theater Synergy's and a KSW are Great. Music is a Different issue. When properly placed a KSW is a very good sub. ------------------ http://gallery.consumerreview.com/webcrossing/images/MYSTUFF.jpg
  17. The Yamaha is your best bet. Stay with it. I tried all major brands in my house and kept the Yamaha. ------------------ http://gallery.consumerreview.com/webcrossing/images/MYSTUFF.jpg
  18. Scala's should be left exactly the way Paul intended them to be. The Glass top is OK for protection.IMHO. ------------------ http://gallery.consumerreview.com/webcrossing/images/MYSTUFF.jpg
  19. Yep, she's a 9 year old Sharpei. If the Scala's are on that's where she lays. If I turn them off she gets up and moves! She doesn't do this with my KG's or SF's. I just can't make here understand where the "sweet spot" is, or maybe I should try her spot on the floor?? ------------------ http://gallery.consumerreview.com/webcrossing/images/MYSTUFF.jpg This message has been edited by mpgwagon on 03-28-2002 at 05:00 PM
  20. My dog says:It Don't get no better! ------------------ http://gallery.consumerreview.com/webcrossing/images/MYSTUFF.jpg
  21. I agree with j-malotky,once you have Heritage nothing else will do! Check out Ebay and get yourself some Heresy's. ------------------ http://gallery.consumerreview.com/webcrossing/images/MYSTUFF.jpg
  22. Use only Heritage. A single La Scala or Belle is your best bet. ------------------ http://gallery.consumerreview.com/webcrossing/images/MYSTUFF.jpg
  23. How much do want to spend? ------------------ http://gallery.consumerreview.com/webcrossing/images/MYSTUFF.jpg
  24. Yamaha gets my vote for sound. HK hands down for looks. I tried em' all and kept the Yamaha. All of the above are great too! Take your pick. ------------------ http://gallery.consumerreview.com/webcrossing/images/MYSTUFF.jpg
  25. Anybody have these? How do they compare to Scala's? ------------------ http://gallery.consumerreview.com/webcrossing/images/MYSTUFF.jpg
