  1. Back in 1996, I replaced two small electric water heaters with a "instantaneous" variable temperature Australian AQUA MAX 24 litre per minute with a max temp of 75 degrees centigrade..Gas fired. If it ever fails I will get another. It can deliver non stop hot water all day that you can drink as it's heated inside a stainless steel heat exchanger. It has a powered flue and is extremely cost effective as it only heats the water to the temperature you select on demand. For showers just select the temperature and don't mix cold water in at the shower so as a result the pipe work is not unnecessarily heated to a higher temperature between the water heater and the shower saving energy.
  2. Correct it is the KPT 435-N in one enclosure to be the rear speakers in a 5.1 system. I reckon a pair of these in the rear corners is better than many small speakers down the side Walls of a Cinema. The IMAX in Hoyts Moore Park is set up this way and the 3D sound is much better than hearing the mess that normally comes from the side walls. In about 2 weeks we will receive the shipment ordered from Klipsch which includes 3 way Jubilee for Front Left and Right and the KPT-4350-MS as the Centre Channel in a small 150 seat cinema/seminar/function/whatever room we are putting together in a resort the Sydney Blue Mountains. I think the KPT-4350-MS is a versatile compact speaker and I'm sooooooo looking forward to hearing it.
  3. What is the xover frequency on this? does anyone know? I should have been more specific, in the two way design that Roy has for the Jub bin, and 402 using the k69A, what is the xover frequency for that unit? i heard 500Hz? it doesnt say on the schematic at all. I think you might be able to fit the K69 driver onto the KPT-402 and the run it as a Two Way with the Crossover in this Schematic for a comparison.
  4. That is one of my all time favourite finish textures. Awesome Colour. Having the speaker a feature works very well in that corner. It's like painting fire pipes red rather than trying to hide them.
  5. The house was a good price back in 94 and I new it had white ants when I bought it, they were a little overaggressive and for the front section of the house 4 rooms I have virtually replaced everything except the veranda doors and the verandas. By the time I'm finished the original sand stock convict bricks will be the only part that has not been replaced. I took all the timber that supported the original floors out of the walls and replaced that with bricks. All the floor joists and roofing beams are now steel so the little critters can break their teeth on that. The floors are cyprus pine as are the skirting as the ants don't like that. They even ate parts of the gyprock ceilings. I'm using plywood for the ceilings and to cover the plaster walls with "lead like sheeting" acoustic treatments attached to the back of the plywood. I'm installing 60g acoustic bats in between all the joists and one steel stud wall so yes it's never a dull moment. There is a light at the end of the tunnel now for this section and then there is more.
  6. Yes it is huge. It's the RP2301FC and we have 240v. I'm not sure how many horsepower it is. The starting torque is significant and a wide stance with a firm grip with both hands is essential or you could break your wrist. Many people said the router becomes your favourite tool and it is better to get a powerful one so there are no limitations. It takes all size bits and has a very smooth deep plunge and LED lights shine down into the cut. I can now rebuild the 100 year old doors on my terrace house using the router to cut traditional joints and remove sections of damaged timber like a dentist. I can also build shutters to go outside the existing glass panel doors and incorporate acoustic treatments like a juicy sandwich into the design to reduce the traffic noise entering the rooms next to the Jubilee and LaScala. The next step up was a DeWalt at 3 times the price. I am very happy with this router and with hindsight would get exactly the same again.
  7. Excellent analogy a win win outcome.
  8. The wood is passed through the jig and the depth setting on the router controls the depth of the bevel. The 45 degree tip can be seen in the router and the router sits in the centre of the jig with the tip dipping into the hole in the centre.
  9. I made these router accessories to reduce the risk of those stuff ups mentioned earlier. The router is 2100watt variable speed and will maintain speed regardless of loading so the starting and stopping torque is a handful let alone a slight variation in the wood. This is a accessory I made to bevel the edge of panels so they fit easily into their slots when clamping the job together.
  10. I do the build it and they will come system also. I have adapted the router to do a number of tasks by building some accessories. This sled is lubricated with candle wax and holds the router in perfect alignment normally for cutting slots in side panels as can be in the plywood side panel under the jig in this picture. The jig was being made to hold panels inserted into the side panel slots while the glue was drying. The sled came in handy to support the router to cut slots in old floor boards at angles to align with the slots in the side panel. Hope that makes sense...
  11. Thank you and yes bits can be replaced the replacement cost $20. The room I'm working in is to be my bedroom and I must control the dust as there are no doors to the rest of the house. The corner where the vacuum is in that pic is where the left channel LaScala will be eventually. The router is the tool I always use first as it has the best dust control and makes the least noise. I wear ear plugs but the vacuum cleaner is louder than the router.
  12. I was cutting 12mm ply one pass down the middle to make internal horn path panels. I think I was pushing to hard with the speed to fast, in a rush, and the bit overheated and fractured just above the cut. I don't use the table saw as the sheets are 2400x1200mm and require to much space before and after the saw. Plus there is a chance of screwing up the cut when your doing it by yourself. A hand saw on a sled sends dust everywhere so I use the router with the vacuum dust attachment and the barrel vacuum cleaner you can see in the background on the bench. There is no dust and while the cut is 6mm rather than 3mm it's always straight. It was a non event when it broke just felt a thump and saw the router bit missing the end which had just dropped onto the floor directly below. The router ended up about 1 inch from the fail point before I stopped pulling it along the guide. I got a new bit this morning and will finish the cut after my lunchtime yoga class. I suppose it was a non event as it was fully covered by the wood. I will reduce the spin speed and not push as hard in future.
  13. I was using the router to rip sheets of ply and pushed a bit to hard to get one last cut in before going to yoga. This is so tormenting if ever anything was so I have to wait till the store opens to get a new 6mm bit.
  14. I got 54 of these so I would have more excuses to play with the saw and the router, lol.
  15. I just wanted to experiment so I made 3 woofers with a mouth 4 foot six by 2 foot. It's a nice match with the LaScala. I'm going to take them to a friends hotel and see how they sound as sub woofers for 4 KPT-684s.
  16. These will all arrive on 11th September and my pair are still in the boxes. The jub amps are in the boxes behind the 3 new woofers I built. The amps are over a year old now. Must get round to finishing the house to many distractions.
  17. OK now this is the girl to get with forever. An Architect who wanted an industrial look. So we gave her a quad box of 4 Belle on their sides. I reckon with her you could get a quad KPT-MCM-4-T Grand in your Breakfast Room. Then for your home cinema the mind just melts.
  18. Hi everyone, This is how it now works for Sydney Australia and I would think the entire world. The part numbers to order a pair of Jubilee for home use in a traditional decorators finish are:- KPT-KHJ-LF In Raw Birch Timber KPT-402-HF With K-69 Driver The HF configuration is that preferred by Roy out of the selection available. ***** These are the details on the quote by the Sydney Cinema Dealer to Klipsch for my Jubilee. If you want the LF to be black then request black. You can request another finish of the LF and the dealer will get you a price and availability. The Cinema Dealer sets the price to the purchaser after getting the dealer price from Klipsch as is the normal course of events. The Cinema Dealer should already have a price list and will only need to confirm it is current with Klipsch. We have now ordered another pair of Jubilee due to arrive mid August for a small 150 seat cinema/seminar/live band/whatever installation we are doing in a Resort in the Sydney Blue Mountains. These are in the 3 way cinema configuration. Rod
  19. Your concept is very interesting. I hope you get yours built so you can enjoy it.
  20. Your right Hate to see that happen, it's really a wonder things ship as well as they do considering everything they go through. I went for a long walk today along the coast from Clovelly to Bondi and back 4 hours and it was dark when I got back to the car. Here is a photo of my (1976) LaScala fully Jub-d out and with G-No, gardian who wants to use the rope or something else. I got 2 pairs of new jeans on Saturday from G-Star Raw since they are the only company, I know who make them with 36inch legs which I need and they gave me G-No, this years "collectors" edition Rino. Sic 'em G-No My LaScala are Tuscan Yellow satin sealed and back in the 70's looked awesome on stage as FOH. People remarked on how those little yellow speakers blew away all the big black ones. They become smaller in yellow and match well with the timber floor. I think I will do my Jubs to match and also refinish my sisters plywood Heresy which I'm going to use as my rear surrounds since she has downsized my brother-in-laws audio. He can hardly wait to hear my jubs. And here all along I thought I was the only person who had critters in his Las:-0 I included G-No in my photo's as he would impress some of the girls I was interested in, when I show them pictures of my speakers. Their eyes go to G-No first, they react to G-No then with that frame of mind they check out the speakers.[] This is also a huge winner...Stuart[:^)]
  21. What are you going to do with 8 of them? (!!) Where does somebody get these and how much are they? google doesn't turn up anything. I'd like to use something like that as rear surrounds on my Heritage HT. Could also be the KPT-1201 or KPT-250, or one of the older models used. Something smallerthan a Heresy II (it's mostly in depth that it matters to me). The system is for a small 150 seat cinema 12m x 12m x 8m in height that's 40 x 40 feet by 26 feet in height. An associate bought a resort and is making some mods. It will likely have a normal 2D cinema projection system. So the KPT-8001's are for the side surrounds. I would prefer to just use a pair of the KPT-4350-MS in the rear corners but there is a door that spoils this. We must use a KPT-4350-MS as centre as we cannot fit a Jub in due to the screen size and there is also a stage under the screen. It's going to be used for more than just a cinema. The Left and Right are standard Jubilee 535 cinema configuration. On page 2 of the Commercial Cinema section:- http://www.klipsch.com/kpt-8001 The KPT-1201 are the 12inch version of the 8001. I have not heard either of these yet. The KPT-250 are remarkable. We have used them as DJ booth monitors. The KPT-250 are as flat as flat realism. They do Helicopters really well. I would use them for my surrounds if I did not already have Heresy. The KPT-250 have been around for many years now. In the Hoyts Cinema Complex near my house. One of the Larger Cinemas (30 or so seats wide) has a 100% Klipsch System and the KPT-250 are the surrounds in 7.1 configuration i.e. side walls and rear walls. When the guys were EQing the room they remarked that the KPT-250 did not really need any correction.
  22. I built lots of speakers up to 19, then I discovered Khorns and got LaScala and nuff said.
  23. I'm dead serious... I love the way you worded that. I'm reading it and have visions of speakers essentially surrounding the listener (like the Bose demonstration Kiosks). Many people would have various descriptions of that. I loved yours.
  24. They must have gone to a different college than me. My dorm room wasn't much bigger than a LaScala. I did have a friend with a pair of Heresy's in his dorm room, though. I be one of them guys. I had a pair of LaScalas AND a pair of ElectroVoice Interface D's stuck in my dorm (and later apartments) in college. As Islander says.... maybe they're old now... This is a picture of my dorm room. Please disregard the bag of Cheeto's In the corner, you can see a big boxy speaker and yes, it took the entire wall. As for Pat's enjoyment for the last 6 years... well.... write me in at 33 years.... So I guess it's good and bad to be written in for 37 years. I don't feel old.
