No problems like this at all. Head spacing on a Ruger 10-22 is in the bolt face and also needs to be changed for match accuracy. The only problems I have encountered is that non match ammo will not fully chamber, the bolt will not fully close unless forced, and that has more to do with loose tolerances in ammo cases. Roger My son and I each bought a few thousand rounds of American Eagle for Rat hunting in central Oregon. Dang things keep fouling, Paul had a stock 10-22 and I had carbon fiber bull barrell. A friend also had a 10-22 and it liked the ammo just fine. He got a few thousand rounds for free. Fortunately I always take more ammo then I can use. So we switched brands and carried on with our hunt.
  2. I have never learned how to reduce the pixel size to where I could post pictures. Would like to post some of the units I have Marantz 2500, 2325, 4470, Sansui 9090, 9090 DB McIntosh mc 30's Fisher 400, Kenwood/Trio tube receiver Other misc. items. But since I can't post the pictures the above could be suspected . Just partial to the older 50's to 70's equip. Would anyone be willing to educate me?

Debating on who to use. Tom Williams was recommended to me for Marantz 2500. 3 year wait but just got it back. I knew it would be a long wait. Don't want to wait as long for the other Girls to be overhauled. Sure I'd love to have there contact info. The shop that done my mc30's is no longer in business. Seems he was the only one local I wanted to work on the stereo's. Tried another guy for a Pioneer SX 950 my son fried. Guy just wanted me to buy one of his New Age receivers. I don't go back to him anymore. It will get done one way or another. Pelican case worked well for shipping. I could see where the case was banged around and so was the lock I had on it. I don't think anyone tried to break the lock. Case was banged up but protected the marantz 2500. Shipping wt. was 100 lbs
  4. I have a scope tube out of a marantz 2500 that will be coming back to me. I will ship a 3" dia pvc in a pelican case with the next stereo I send to be gone through. Tom will put tube (wrapped in bubble wrap) into pvc and into foam packed case with stereo. Should be pretty Bionic. Not to well educated on tube equip. But don't see why regular tubes could not be shipped similar way.

I've found that a "Match" chamber can be sensitive to some ammo. Match chambers do work well with match cartridges. If you go with a match chamber be sure to check that desired ammo works well. Or keep the original barrel for the ammo that does not function in the match chamber. Some barrel manufacturers will recommend a certain cartridge for different barrels. 10-22 is simple to change barrels and stocks.

I'm SURE I'd like one of those Colts, I'm not sure I wouldn't just go for 10-22 again. You can or at least could get accessories at a reasonable price, Including a speed loader for all 10-22 mags, carbon fiber bull barrels, synthetic stock. Trigger assemblies, Mines nothing fancy but done a little at a time. Again that Colt looks Nice. Especially the Upper conversion. Find the ammo that shoots best in the gun you decide on. I've shot with a guy who could nail sage rats at over a hundred yards with a stock 10-22. Ammo is out of sight if you can even find it. I imagine it will go down as peoples home supplies get filled.
  7. I use a pastry rack with wheels and adjustable levels for the shelves. Easily holds 5-6 units without crowding allowing good ventilation. The wheels allow easy access to the back of the receivers on it. Not really pretty, but I never was one for chrome and spit shine.
  8. Let's not forget peeled veneer cut from a big industrial wood lathe. Usually 4' or 8' long and not as wide. Seen some beautiful clear fir come out of one of the veneer mills I've worked at. But the other cuts contain beautiful examples too.
  9. It does seem to me that the forum was more interesting in the past. Maybe it is because I was new to the forum back then. I can hardly point my finger at anyone as the content is mostly determined by forum members. Klipsch is generous to even provide this forum for our use. Sometimes when things get too far out of line that thread will get shut down. Other times an iffy thread will be allowed to run. Although I don't find as much interesting content, I still visit the site regularly. I have started to reply to reply many time and realize that my reply is just filing space with no value. Thus I spare the other members my BS or whatever you would call it by deleting it before posting. Other times my self censorship gets past me. However I do enjoy hearing many off topic comments and non stereo related topics. I enjoy seeing new members to families as all babies are a treasure to be seen. Although I don't like to hear of others misfortune, I think it is good that we are able to do what we can when someone has problems that we can offer advise, prayers, or what ever we can to try to help. Casual topics from stereos to firearms to new boat are interesting. And we have the Lounge to cover almost anything we'd like to post. Some threads that I never thought would go far such as coffee and cables have survived and flourished when I had my doubts that they would they would last. I'm glad they did though. Wish I would see more of Marty's rants and comments as well as other people's. Marty seems to have the ability to provide humour that I think most of us enjoy. I wish I was as talented as he at that.
  10. Speeding Tickets? More then I can remember. I do remember out with a couple friends and we met a cop, and did not know it. Friend says John there's ah. And by then we were around the car and own our way. Up the road about 1/2 mile I pulled off onto a dirt road to take a leak. Got out of the car and cop pulls in about 100 ft behind me. He's outside his car using door for a rest for his pistol. Kinda made me a little nervous. He tells me to get back in the car. Still had to go to the bathroom. Another car pulls up. So I have 2 cops determine that I was not the escaped fugitive they thought I might be. They had all three of us get out while one kept his gun on us. Anyhow they argued about whether to arrest me, or go eat dinner. Glad they were hungry. Got off with a reckless driving ticket. Cop said he was doing 130mph and I was pulling away from him. BULL. Judge bought it and I paid the fine. Going snow skiing and my radar detector went off. I got it slowed down to 95 mph, In a School Zone, about 0600 in the morning. I tried to talk my way out of it. But he just kept saying I was lucky I was not going to Jail. Never did figure out when they put that school there. I'd never noticed it before. Just sent the money in on that one Didn't get a ticket one night when leaving Dad's for the 100 mile trip home. Doing around a hundred when I met a cop and seen his brake light come on. I'm in the throttle so I can turn off the road before he could see I had turned off. Well I made it back to Dad's and hung around for another hour. Dad said if they stopped me he would swear in court I had just left his house, giving the time I left for the second time. Got a warning for defective emergency brake. Didn't have all the parts to make it work. See the state patrol officers having lunch. Went home a few blocks away and tightened up my brakes where it didn't move so well. Went back and parked beside the patrol cars. Officers came out and I asked one if he would sign off on my warning. E-brake was plenty tight so he signed off on it. I drove with no e brake for years. I never did run them when they had the lights on. At least not if I could see them. Been a few times I think they may of turned on their overheads but didn't stick around to find out.

I was given the name/address of Randy Buckner (rbuckner on Audiokarma). Don't know which would be best choice, http://manymoonsaudio.com/index.html or Mr. Buckner. I just got his list for upcoming work for both units. Sometime late summer/early fall.
  12. I never trained any of our dogs to be aggressive. They were all very gentle but used their own good judgement to do what they thought was right. I did have one that I had to ask a visitor to stop letting him (dog) into visitors car. Gentleman got a great kick out of rolling down his window and let the dog ride back to the house. Only trouble was Deuce thought if he could get in someones car, he would be welcome in anyone's car. Didn't care if he knew them or not. If they were friendly he'd get 1/2 in and get to know them. Brother's dog was let out ot the pickup in hopes that his presence might prevent an out numbered fight. Dog brought his stick (about the size of my forearm but longer). So dog goes up to these other guys and drops his stick at their feet.

Any firm recommendations for my Sansui 9090 and 9090DB as to who to send them to for tune up or restoration? I don't frequent the other stereo sites so I don't know who is good. Not in a hurry as I have at least one more unit going out in the Pelican case I got just for shipping stereo's off for work. Might be good to get in line if there is a long line. I waited 3 years to have a Marantz gone through and would hope not to have to wait as long on the Sansui's.
  15. Taking responsibility for your own screw up isn't really the American way. You really need to try harder to blame someone else. Friend wanted me to send truffles to him in Arizona. I bought frozen veggies and packed the truffles in a box surrounded by the veggies. Worked just fine
  16. Found a lot of good info from old threads. Heck some of the old threads are still new to me.
  17. I only read the instructions when I got things to mucked up to save. Then I look to see what I did wrong. I don't know why, but things seem to work out better if I read first.
  18. A couple of High School girls could clean records for you and be more fun to watch. Just don't touch the school girls.
  19. I would not have to worry about WAF, as they would not meet my appearance status. I'm glad to see the picture though, Now I know what I don't like. No worries about me driving the price up. And the site is gone. Maybe someone liked them enough.
  20. Yeh, Really no need for anymore receivers and this one was quite tempting. Sure wish the new owner would give us his review. At least whether or not he likes it and why? Maybe the new owner is not a forum member and we'll never know their opinion. All's Good.
  21. I strongly believe that the way any animal is raised effects its personality. Not to say I'd trust or want a snake on the loose. Neighbor had a extremely large Rottweiler. Although he looked quite fierce he was just a big puddy cat. A very good dog to have living next door. Wife's dog was less the 10 lbs and went into heat. Rottweiler was very interested and spent much time with the little dog. But he just could not figure out what to do as she was so much shorter and there was no way to couple. Any breed can bite. At less then 5 years old I was bitten by our Dalmatian. My folks rescued a small dog, less then 15 lbs. My brother in law reached across the new baby and the little dog bit him. I'm sure the dog felt he was protecting the baby. We had a mixed breed that would intervene if he thought someone was being too rough with a kid. He was a large dog, Lab and Belgium shepherd mix. He would also intervene if he thought a woman was being abused. Sure tended to quell the neighbors outbursts when he would jump 4' fence and get between man and woman. That always put a stop to any abuse. We never trained him for much, except to quit killing chickens and to fetch raw eggs. He was usually quite friendly. However if he thought someone was stealing he would bark once and if you didn't put down whatever you were taking he would bite you on the arse. He also would not let anyone in the house if we were not home. Even if he knew them they could not come in. If we were home, no problem. Dogs can be compared to people as both can be aggressive or passive. The average intelligence of a grown dog is comparable to that of a 5 year old child. I know I've had dogs that were smarter then most 5 year old kids.
  22. I don't know? I thought ya was kinda high. How low will you gooo? just kiddin
  23. I think my Case is around 10 years old. Keep them in the case out in the shop, and bring in a pocketful when needed. Even if what is still in there is bad. And their Not. I still come out on the price break over the one at a time'r or get the case with 75% discount . So far these are the oldest ear plugs I've had at around 10 years and they seem to be like new. Dr Morbius, on 15 Jan 2015 - 1:39 PM, said: Mighty, you must be one heck-uv-a animal trainer. Wish I had the skills/insight to be able to energize my/our 3 (rescue) cats more. They are great cats, it's just that the lifestyle my wife and I have is likely very boring to them! Truth is, they deserve more stimulation than we provide. Have tried the laser light, the Wahlgreen yellow nylon contraption with the rotating mouse tail, and an assortment of other typical cat toys. Nothing seems to energize them too much……. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________ We adopted an elderly Persian female. Very well behaved. Well no one taught this old kitty how to hunt I guess. My other cats would teach the younger addition to their group how to hunt and sometimes hunt together, sharing kills and bonding as such. Anyhow the older kitty will go out into the yard, or try to hide right by the bird feeder. Never a mouse or a bird does she catch. One day while feeling sorry for her I thought I should buy her one of those feeder mice they sell in pet shops. Never have done it though, Just seemed too much like the canned hunts. I'd love to see her catch a mouse or even a bird. Her times running out, but this is one she has to do on her own. Try getting a Pitbull. From what I've see. Pitbulls can be very affectionate and gentle dogs. A friend of my son had had a couple. One of them would even play tug a war where you held his tongue and you both pulled. Yea kinda strange. The dog served surveillance inside the body shop they had. I never seen them growl or miss behave. Before I was in grade school we'd go camping with family friends. They had this little hairy fur ball that would watch over us kids when they left camp. We usually had a fire going, and the lake was maybe a hundred feet. None of us ever got hurt, or in trouble while that dog looked after us.
  24. I buy earplugs by the case. Seems like the last case 75% less then buying individually. Case has lasted quite a few years so I can always put a another one down. If they wind up under the furniture they come out with vacuum in cleaning process. If you do use the yellow plugs you can wash them and they are softer, and I think they cut the noise more then the unwashed. I just put a bunch in a clean sock, use safety pin or diaper pin to close the end of sock folding the top of sock over and making sure that the plugs can't get out. Wash with clothes. Dry with clothes.
