As long as the voice coils are not open circuit they're probably still good. I doubt whether you and Bob have the same meters and neither are probably calibrated. I would think the only way it could read low is if the insulation is melted on the voice coil wire and some of the turns of wire are shorting.
You got two of'em? or is it all done with mirrors? Definitely have to check this out when i finally get around to the backside of the house landscaping
Jubes in the rear for surround? With another set of 402s? Or maybe for the rear all you would need is 510s. Or do you have the rear covered already. Oh and BTW-- AWESOME.
Is the OP really saying that with for instance an old Beatles recording where vocals are on one channel and the majority of instruments are on the other(like another poster alluded to) that he is able to get good stereo imaging? By having the right speakers and amplifiers? Nonsense.
Of course a soldered connection would be best but there are lots of electrical connections around this world that are mechanical only. Like the bond connection of ground to neutral in every house in the USA. Or the connection of the chassis in almost every stereo component etc...etc....
