  1. I paid $1200 for my second hand pair 30 years ago. $2000 seems OK reasonable to me. If the veneer chips are only in the edge banding that is easily fixed.
  2. Your speaker wires pick up RF? Sure it's not something else in your set up?
  3. Hey billybob claims he carries those things by his dang self, so get busy
  4. OK are they Klipschorns? The "Klipschorn" is the only speaker made by Klipsch that absolutely positively must go in a corner. A picture of the speaker might help and then a picture of the crossover. It sounds like your Dad was "biwiring" his speakers as Schu has said. @Deang Wouldn't the crossover need to have a slight mod to biwire properly?
  5. The grain goes "horizontal" on these? Jeesh now I'm gonna have to take a close look at mine when I get home Awesome score BTW billybob.
  6. How loud can Klipsch speakers get? WHAT? Could you speak up, please.
  7. Did Dad have 2 stereo amplifiers hooked up to each speaker or just 1 stereo amp? Hey Schu, musta been posting at the same time.
  8. And not cheap. Get one of them 15" ers and let us know how it is
  9. Yep, take a sawzall to the brass body of the check valve. When I saw the plumber do that to mine I said to myself WTF? But then I asked him and he explained just what Carl just said
  10. I vote the check valve is darn near sealed closed or installed backwards.
  11. Put the check valve down stream of the pump? Mine is and I assure you if I don't bleed the recirc. lines after they get air in them for whatever reason the pump will suck air.
  12. With a couple valves thrown in That little symbol to the left of the pump is the "check valve"? His is on the other side of the pump, does it matter?
  13. Is there a flow direction arrow on that thing? Is it installed correctly?
  14. Seems to me with the 1/4 turn valve on the right in the off position and the 1/4 turn valve on the left in the on positon you should get plenty of water flow through the hose bib or the open pump housing. No?
  15. The check valve is there to only let water flow in one direction. On my system if it was not there when someone turned on a hot water outlet in the house cold water would flow through the at rest pump into the dedicated recirc. line and eventually to the hot water tap. Of course at the same time hot water would flow from the water heater. But the hot and cold would mix and you would not get just hot water from the water heater, decreasing the efficiency of the system. This is my limited understanding, I ain't no plumber. On my system I have hose bib also. This helps drain the system if major repairs become necessary and also to prime the dedicated recirc. lines after repairs. MY PUMP DOES NOT TOLERATE BEING RUN DRY.
  16. @tigerwoodKhorns So that red housing is part of the pump disassembled? And the line coming from the left is a dedicated recirc line? Or just a hot water line? My question to all the plumbers is does it matter what side of the pump the check valve is on?
  17. Ah yea... I know I look stupid....but yes union installed.
  18. Yes I did but mine was stuck half open so I had flow in both directions. I never learned how to sweat pipe so I hired a plumber to fix/replace. I had him put in fittings so I could use a threaded check valve so next time it fails (and it will given the quality of water here) I can replace it my own dang self.
  19. 1.11% Social Security Tax. My how things have changed. And no I.T.
  20. Still late morning out here.... I've got to get the fire started...Small bird to roast, should only take about 3 hours cooking time....Later
  21. I've met Carl in person. He is warm most of the time but not fuzzy. HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL.
  22. Yes Sir, GET GRATEFUL! Happy Thanksgiving to All
